Kid18120 added a comment to T64422: Back Pack Problems in Multi Player.

It's related to the inability to pickup clothes and vests from crates.
Clients don't stream what they take from crates when it comes to clothes and vests (the same applies to the ground if you are not the host).

Actally the only way to fix it while waiting for an official fix is to use a virtual ammobox script (there should be some on armaholic.com)

Then it's a server-side problem.

I (as well as many others) can play just fine for hours in MP and i have a Thomson router, well known for it's crappy stability :P

EDIT: Didn't see your second comment. Yes actually it can easily be (refer to what i wrote above) for multiple reason, the main one being there are no dedicated servers, yet.

EDIT2: Also, ArmA drops your server-link as soon as you have even the smallest connectin drop (even for like half a second), that may be the issue. Your connection drops for an instant but in the time you do the ping test it has recovered.

FarCry doesn't have to keep into account all the ballistic calculations and the huge map dimensions (just to say the main 2) that stress enough already our computres.. that's the difference that allows it to use this feature and that would (may) cause A3 to become unplayable

I think you can already do that.
In the VIEW commands option menu you can assign keys / keycombos to lean left and/or right like if you had a TrackIR (not sure if it's what you need, i didn't try it)

That's a bug with people ;)

The LCTRL key is bound to the view modifiers to simulate TrackIR (LCTRL+E / LCTRL+Q and so on).
Unbind that and you don't have the ""bug"" anymore ...

It's not a bug, it's an on-purpose name modification (also declared here http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?149636-Development-branch-changelog )

Just replace the old A3_Soft_F_Galkin to O_Ifrit_F in your mission.sqm file and you're good to go.

After a bit your soldier will stop sprinting (first stage) then will later stop jogging (second stage) and will force you to slow walk until you recover some stamina.

It works and, as you said, it's influenced by the load.

The LCTRL issue isn't an issue.
LCTRL is a "modifier" in the "View Options".
Unbind it from there and you're good.

Yeah i remember quite well the old BF2:PR days :)
But i think it wasn't really the "type of VOIP" but more likely the "matureness" of players playing it (PR wasn't like a run and shoot thing, so players where somehow naturally filtered out).

When it comes to ArmA, i mainly play ACE along with ACRE and i think that's why there are not so many players using the in-game VOIP system due to server hosters (myself included) offering public access to theire own TS servers to use ACRE.

Maybe something halfway between ACRE and BF2:PR radio systems may work ?

Confirmed for HD7950 also in daylight (rare but happens) and also confirmed the NVG fixes the problem or, if you don't have NVG, alt-tab and then use the taskmanager to switch back in the game (right click > show in front)

I did read dxdiag, rpt file and dump file that you did attach already.

The dxdiag is showing your vga as Intel HD Graphics 3000 (which i believe is the motherboard chipset ?) while rpt file shows the nVidia GT555M as you pointed out.

Sounds like a driver issue ?
Both dxdiag and rpt (or whatever else game log file) shoudl be coherent each other

I see from your dxDiag that you have 8CPUs so i assume you are using the Hyper Threading on your i7.

Try disabling it via BIOS and try again, see if that's the cause (i have it disabled because it mainly causes problems with mostly every game)

EDIT: Found the cause!

"Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000"
"DDI Version: 10.1"

You're using an integrated vga chipset that doesn't support DX11, but only 10.1

Do you know why that works in Airsoft and why it wouldn't in real life ? ;)

  1. Airsoft guns have a limited range, especially when shooting from a lower position. being above a tree gives you the gun range advantage
  1. Airsoft guns aren't immediately pin-pointable because of the sound, while a gun shot can
  1. Tree's foliage stops BBs, won't stop bullets

and a lot more reasons to go..

too much effort for DEVS since they would have to work on animations and a lot of different variables for when you are on the tree.. also the trees in A3 don't really look like the kind you can climb with barehands and fully geared.

You can't use countermeasure while holding LCTRL because LCTRL+G cycles trought the different release modes for countermeasure, feature that is not yet implemented.
The same goes for example when you press LCTRL+E / LCTRL+Q that leans the camera right and left, LCTRL+MOUSE AXIS moves the head like in a 6DOF TrackIR and so on... a correct controls configuration will solve everything

What do Army soldiers when under sniper fire ?

  • Lay down some heavy suppressive fire while shooting to the approximate location of the sniper
  • Move to a safer position (eventually get the wounded guys in cover too)
  • Locate the sniper
  • Kill the sniper

So that's exactly what happens... that said, by standing on your point, you are saying that ARCADE games are MORE REALISTIC than ARMA. ;)

People go crazy when they read COD, BF3, CS as reference to something that may actually work way better in A3 than in those games !!

The suppression effect like it was described in the original post, was just refered to "visuals" while BF3 (that probably lead to mistakes for others) was also on weapons (you did loose accuracy on the weapon with enhanced bullet spread), hence the hate for it !!

Those in game are not UBA but CCUBA (CC stands for Closed Circuit) (they are rebreathers, not oxygen / trimix bottles).
IRL you have up to 10 times the normal "underwater time" than a common open circuit (UBA) so i highly doubt you would run out of "air" with one of those for a mission

Not true.. there are plenty of "mil-sim" clans/communities out there that also simulate live firing range drills and such so this feature would find its place.
The strenght of arma series is in the flexibility and ability to simulate potentially everything (with sometimes the right scripting knowledge).

Your point is fair enough, but as it has been suggested in previous comments, the SAFE mode shouldn't be put in the firemodes cycle (F) but with a dedicated "modifier" (LSHIFT+F for example).
This would prevent an accidental safe mode engagement while cycling trough firemodes and would still retain its function

Vehicles are not ok on inclines... a Iveco Lince (for example, quite close to the hunter in the game) it's a 4.6 tons vehicle and still can climb quite steep slopes at 15Km/h with a full load.. the hunter's engine stalls on even the lowest slope at max speed of 5Km/h

Did you experience this in a MP server ? If so, do you remember what mission was ?
Many missions (like thos i'm making for my clan myself) contain a "garbage" script that clears up weapons left around in the map to prevent lag issues and it could just be related to a bad config of the script :)

I read about the same issue also for RCO sight but i'm not experiencing this nor the other one, after 25 hours of testing both SP and MP.

Maybe is some kind of graphical glitch that's related to the HW?

I'm running a Sapphire HD7950.

Do you have a SLI/Crossfire configuration ? maybe that's the problem as per other graphical glitches /artifacts that other users reported

That's because the eject function for helicopters is disabled right now, due to the lack of parachutes in the game.

It will be possible to do it as soon as they "unlock" this feature
