I feel that Statis Air Base is lacking the furniture and detail that is so crucial to the success of Arma3.
As some people have already reported (#4024), the runway designation is inaccurate, being 26-02 rather than 20-02. While this is true, it is not the main point of this ticket.
The following are details I feel could be added to the airbase, sticking to current international air regulations, which are unlikely to change significantly in the future; but are very pedantic. There is a lot of detail here, but I feel inaccuracies in this area would do more harm than good. I have attached some photos to better show what I'm trying to have implemented.
- Move the PAPI lights down the runway, so they're beyond the aiming markers; they currently land a plane too early on the runway (both approaches)
- Runway edge lights should be white rather than yellow
- taxiways should have a blue lit outline and the centreline should be lit with surface-flush green lights
- taxiway centre lines should have alternating green and yellow lights as they enter the runway (start and end on green)
- taxiways should extend into the mid-line of the runway
- signposts around the runway/ taxiway to allow for realistic taxiing (i.e. taxi to runway 35 bravo, alpha)
- more accurate runway approach lights to maximise the realism of needing them with the weather settings (pic1)
- ability to turn runway/ taxi lights on/off from ATC tower in case of attacks/ security/ sabotage {F18352} {F18353} {F18354} {F18355} {F18356} {F18357} {F18358} {F18359}
