Zychon added a comment to T116175: Saitek X52Pro Buttons/Axis can't be mapped.

At the moment, the options only allow you to map keys. This applies to all game controllers, not just the X52.

As a temp fix, of course, you could use the Saitek programming software to map keyboard presses to your buttons.

Zychon added a comment to T116101: Press any key doesn't work.

But does your KB have an "any key"? ;)

I can't reproduce this. Is the game simply locking up? It sounds like it's freezing up and that's why you're not getting a response. Can you back out of the screen somehow?

Bulb? Any screens? Is it a very mild version of 0002036?

Zychon added a comment to T65650: MH-9/AH-9 Nickname change to something else.

It shouldn't bother you. The only place I can find that reference is the Field Manual, and in there it's pretty obvious that the fictional MH-9 is actually intended to supplant the real MH-6, claiming that the 9 has "been used in special operations by US Army since the Vietnam War".

While nicknames do vary wildly, sometimes even for the exact same A/C, there is also precedent for official and unofficial names to get handed over from obvious predecessors and descendants, even spanning several eras (Thunderbolt II, Corsair II).

TL/DR:
They wanted a "Little Bird", but it isn't really a Little Bird, so they called it an MH-9 and assumed (in the fantasy) that it had been the 9 all along. ...or something like that.

No prob, and you actually did call it urban prone in the description. ;D

Here's a related issue by the way: 0007286

Zychon added a comment to T65646: Missing reddot in holosight while combat prone.

I added screens for this.

It's just because your head can't align with the rifle (your character's cheek is welded to the buttstock). It could use a bit of tweaking, but I fear that altering the point at which the characters head aligns with the rifle dynamically and intuitively would be a major rework, and you're just gonna have to make the best of the situation and play the hand you are dealt (just like real urban prone).

Zychon added a comment to T65640: Helicopters Flight Model/Dynamics - Very Archadish since last update (15th April).

The collective seems to be much stronger in this update. I think it is intended to limit/prevent barrel rolls and loops (as mentioned in the SITREP).

They are still possible, just much harder with the collective forcing you down.

As a side effect there is much more forward momentum, yes, but this is only collective/acceleration. I do not notice any other change in the flight model (torque, etc).

They borrowed the current flight model from Take On Helicopters. Maybe at final release you will have the option to increase difficulty (like TOH). In general though, Arma is not a focus sim and BI has always opted to put in simple vehicle control. To my knowledge, BI has never "claimed" that Arma is a focus sim.

Zychon added a comment to T65635: AI gitches : go through certain building in Agia Marina.

Tried to reproduce this with AI waypoints and building occupancy, both in and out of combat but couldn't get it to happen. Were they following you or anything specific?

Just trying to get some video of it to add to this.

There is a small church-like landmark (mailbox?) along the road which easily identifies this location (see 2nd attached image)

Zychon added a comment to T65621: Pistol lying on back high prone animation has been removed in the new patch..

Don't see anything unusual/silly about high prone with pistol when pointing straight up (regular prone though always looks silly when doing this, but who lies prone and shoots straight up?).

The stance that you are wanting back *is* an actual position used by certain LE/Militaries, but usually only when you have sustained injury or other emergencies. It exposes too many vital areas and you can easily shoot yourself. The new/rifle high prone is much more useful/realistic, even with a sidearm.

I sort of see your point, though. It was a nice added touch. If forced to pick one, though, I'd say leave it like it is now.

Zychon added a comment to T65616: Multiplayer servers (bad server)?.

lentreez,

It isn't an error, buddy. The update was just hours ago and the server admins need a chance to update/restart. This is going to happen every time there is an update. ;)

The X just means the server is running a different version of the game than yours. You will still see that on some servers long after the final game is released.

Zychon added a comment to T65072: When playing in multiplayer slight lag then crash.

I don't know if it's directly linked, but whenever this happens to me I see a new player join (in the chat dialogue). It seems if I stop all input and just sit there and watch it, it will subside after 10 seconds. If I keep inputing (keys, alt tab, whatever) it will crash.

Peck,

If it is an issue created by you, you should see an "Edit" button right under the Attached Files block (next to "Monitor"). From there, the category and severity should be drop downs.

It works for me anyhow, but you are not the only person here that says they can't edit their own stuff. Maybe there's an issue with the issue tracker.

Someone call Xzibit! Yo dawg, I heard you had an issue with your issue ...okay I'll stop now. :D

Zychon added a comment to T60740: Make this game livestreamer-friendly.

Good thing the Devs also had the sense to change it's priority from high to normal. That's sure as hell the only reason I up voted it.

People,
We know that certain aspects of the game are important to you. We all have those preferences. Please use common sense when assigning priority and severity to your issues. Consider the RELATIVE importance of the issue when compared to the other issues with the game (crashes, etc). If you want to know why people down vote what is otherwise a perfectly reasonable report, this is it. It makes critical path issues much harder to find and solve. This tool is being made available to you so you can help work the kinks out of the product and ensure a timely, quality release. It's not a forum to soapbox or champion a cause. It's not a chatroom for you to post "wouldn't it be cool if...".

...And for the love of all that is merciful and decent, the notes section is not a place to voice your support or dislike of a particular issue. That's what VOTING is for.
