Some players might find the "real time" mode attractive, but the actual mars day cycle would conflict with their actual time zone or schedule.
A solution to this would be a time offset. The player would open a menu where the real time local mars sunrise for that day is displayed in UTC. They can then elect to set a time delay in HH:MM:SS. The campaign then does not allow operations for 24 hours. The offset can be adjusted again after a delay of 24 hours (followed by another 24 hour wait). This should allow people with schedule or time conflicts to play in real time, and still prevent players from cheating the clock.
