I'm not going to vote up or down on this, but i can live with what already is existing in alpha for diving depth. Remember that this game is based in the future, so there is room for a little freedom in this department. If you need to pretend in your own mind that you are using a type of gas, to feel comfortable, then go for it. Either way this issue should not effect many, but for simulation purposes, it is a good thing to discuss realities and i hope whatever they do makes sense for what they are trying to portray, but i'm not an experienced diver, so my opinion does not count, but i just wanted to express my unbiased opinion about this.

I noticed this the day I got the alpha! I dislike when this happens in games, though I understand how it occurs. When placing many objects to a scene, it becomes difficult to adjust every individual object to perfection. I hope they fix this, being as it happens in and out of water.

I have an AMD 7950 and i still have the same issues you describe. Possibly a higher show reaolution may help a little. I even have had it happen when in some areas on the very high setting.

I agree with you about pretty much everything. I have an AMD 8350 8 core and i would love to actually use the things potential. I hate motion blur, and i would love to change settings for it. I also would like options to go even higher in detail. I like really hi-res textures and i wish here was just more in general to work with.

the vehicle damage is bad enough, but the character damage when in a vehicle is even worse! This will hopefully be fixed soon.

Dude this is what we need for sure! I hate spending most of the match gearing up! I also think that the loadout chosen at the beginning of a round needs to be saved, so it doesn't need selected again until we choose otherwise. I hate having an awesome loadout and then it reseting to character default based on class every spawn!

I see where you are coming from, but good work is not supposed to be easy! If hey can't do it( which we all know they can), then it needs to be known now! I believe everyone is having false hopes about what could be accomplished before release! This stuff can be done, and should be pressured from the consumer into happening! Believe me this will improve he full game outcome! That is all that could happen! Think positive! We need to see better gameplay period!

I know plenty of people who refuse to play games where they are restricted for no good reason, i understand not being able to jump a wall with gear, but to not be able to climb a small barrier or wall is not realistic, and if you ask me and plenty of others, this absolutely is a high priority. If they don't implement it now, then it won't be tested by those who want it.

I agree! Keeping us in the dark about this when we already have content, is pointless! Just tell us what is likely to come! Maybe there won't be 2000 duplicate threads when it's all said and done then. I especially want to know about a climb feature! I need to know if it's even worth my time to be on this feedback tracker. If something is out of he question tell us, and then maybe i'll know whether the finished product is going to be something i will even want to play. If there aren't going to be more features and animations added, let me just stop waisting my time. If there will be some NEW GOOD features added (especially the climb) then i might find it worth my time to do more reporting. But on a side note, if we aren't gonna get new stuff then we don't need to be lead to believing we might. I'm mad enough about the lack of developer feedback. I just refuse to believe that they don't know what is going to happen already. Especially since it is supposed to be out this year, which seems unlikely at the pace these bugs are being fixed.

This will suck worse because it will make it so you have to be facing the object perfectly for the icon to appear, or it will limit how many objects are vault-able. What i think is you should just pay attention when you are hitting buttons. A person shooting at nothing also looks stupid! Think about it. This is a waste of time!

Bump/normal mapping is a method that is simpler than adding true 3d detail, because it is more of a trick than an intensive feature, and from experience and research i know it can be done a lot better in some areas of the game. Most of he building and structure almost seem to be missing them to begin with! And if they are there they pretty much are weak!

This is a thing I agree with! This is a game that simulates battle in a harmless way. War should not be taken so lightly. I'm all about peace, but apparently some people don't understand this, which is why society is screwed.

I agree with you, not even ONE person has one good original reason for to back up why they don't want it. They all copy each other and say the same things you just mentioned. There is no tactical reason to not be able to jump, obviously, so I don't believe anyone has a good reason.

you're probably hitting on the right notes as to why they haven't but at the same time, I still believe it could be done well, and I'm sure if they did implement it, it would be correct. I don't believe they are carrying anywhere near 500 pounds of gear, I have had several family members and friends in the military. I have lifted and carried a lot of gear myself, and I could at least jump a little, and more easily climb than people are assuming. I don't think people will be crossing roof gaps as they think they should be, but a decent vault, and a waist to chest high barrier climb should suffice. I really don't think arguing is a good thing but I just think people need to let the feature be handled by developers. As long as they DO implement it in some way then I'll shut my mouth otherwise, I will defend what I believe is realistic. I don't believe people should be able to jump enough within a certain time-space that will suffice for dodging bullets, but simply to get over obstacles. Even if it were used like ladders and doors, I would stop complaining.

I feel like people are taking my input the wrong way. I'm being critical for a good reason! If this game is going to be a simulator then a jump/climb feature should not be argued against at all! This game will be good no matter what, but I want it to be the best Period I own tons of games, and admittedly I am picky as hell! I want the best always. If you have to make a mod to make this game a real war/combat simulator, then they are NOT doing their jobs, and if you argue against this, then you don't have a clue what battle/combat even means. It's not just about guns, it's about tactics, and if you can't be as tactical as you can in reality, then this is a not to be called a simulator. I have played all types of FPS games, and my opinion of this so far is not as high as I expected. I strongly believe that even if they do look at this feature, they will not implement it just because of the community, it will be what the devs want, and that may be good, but that is not what they are trying to portray. They want us to believe that with enough feedback and votes things will be changed accordingly. This is not what it seems like to me at all. I have faith that they know how to create games, without a doubt, but do they want us to decide features, that is the real question, because even if they didn't plan on adding this in alpha, they could still reply to the obvious public want of it, and give us hope for it's arrival in the final product. I don't believe they don't have time for that, because they do! It would take 5 minutes or less to respond in a positive way to us about this feature! Come on people don't believe everything you read/hear. We are merely bug testers at the time being.

I love that people can make mods! But i don't do it, and don't want to! I know i could because me a my friends are in the process of designing content for a future game we would like to make. But a jump feature in a war game IS NECESSARY! The fact it has been excluded from this series by developers is very amature! It seems to me that they are scared to venture into that area because they think people will quit buying their product, but quite the contrary is true. If they don't add it this time around, i will not buy arma 4, and i am quite dissappointed that it isn't here in this game yet. If people don't want change, then stick with the out dated product, because if a game is new and not just another dlc, it needs to evolve, and adding a jump is barely evolving in my opinion, it is keeping up and that's all! So if they don't add it then their professionalism in design is questionable to say the least!

Man they are not letting us decide anything they already didn't have in mind. We are simply getting the game for cheaper just to find bugs. I like the content so far, but to be honest people want an evolved product. And I highly doubt that you even know what you're talking about. If a war game doesn't have a jump or climb, it's hardly a simulator, it is just as arcade as the rest, with a different layout, and other minor differences. The only thing that sets this apart from other games, is the size of the world, and the ability to change positions, but don't get me wrong I love what they have. Though, It is not enough to make up for their lack of realism, in many areas, not just jumping/climbing. If they add it, then I may feel bad about what I said, but to me your opinion @KID, means nothing!

If a person doesn't want this feature, then look at it like this; I don't like being sniped from a camper who doesn't ever move in a game, and i don't like using sniper rifles, but that doesn't mean i don't want them in the game. It's about having options for those who want to use them. If you don't like climbing or jumping, then this feature simply is not for you to use, it's for those of us that do!

If you don't have faith in modern game development, then stick with arma 2. If it is just gonna have all of the same features and just new terrain, then what the hell is the point in making a new game anyway! Come on people this is 2013! And most modern games bring nothing new and exciting to the table! In fact it seems like restrictions are the name of the game these days! I didn't pay over a grand for a pc for the same old freakin games! It's an exclusive for pc therefore it needs to go above and beyond what is thought possible to make on the platform! Where is the sense in making a game hat isn't a challenge to develop!

I don't see why some people automatically assume if there is a jump, vault, or climb feature, that it would make the game arcade style, or encourage bunny hopping. And besides the point, if it's part of reality, regardless of any opinion, it should never be taken from simulation, and most definitely a climb at very minimum is necessary for combat. This is not something that even needs to be debated, if you don't want it, then you should be playing a war game at all! This command can be implemented responsibly! Believe me if you don't want this feature then you should go play an RTS game, because real war has tactics beyond just running around every obstacle, that you face. If they limit the jump to being tied to stamina, it will be fine, because hen you couldn't jump repeatedly. I believe all that is needed is a climb command or a vault. Hopping could EASILY be avoided. End of lesson! Let people who understand battle deal with realism, not people who are just affraid they'll be snuck up on when camping behind a barrier! I hate to say it but those who aren't in favor of this, are not in anyway capable of understanding war tactics!!!!

I hope they make all things affected by weather, for sure. Too much rain may cause a muddy ness that makes infantry slower and vehicles slide and less controllable on grassless land. And choppers that are harder to fly in the worst conditions. Waves that capsize boats when turned up the entire way. Lightning that can cause fire! This would add real life depth and intensity to the atmosphere of the simulation!

Awesome! This is good stuff! I know i'm a pessimist, but i was getting worried about this being overlooked. Thanks for reviewing this feature! If this is added by the developers, i will be pumped up big time for release!

I have a lot of friends who want to buy a PC and i think if this game turns into what it could be, this game will probably be the reason they do.

I truly think this feature will enhance the game in many ways. I really can't wait to see the animation when if and when it is complete. Does anybody know he likelyhood of a feature being assigned after review??

Just tell us no if it's not gonna happen! Then i may be able to get over how mad it would make me by the time of release. I just don't see how telling us now obligates you to fix it now. If you were to say it would come out with the full release, then i'll stop complaining just knowing i will be happy with the finished product. But right now i'm severly discouraged because we are not getting any feedback about issues most would enjoy. And honestly, i'm not having 95% of the bugs people are listing, so i have nothing else to write about but features.

Honestly, more people would be interested in playing Arma games if they had the ability to climb sand barriers, and small walls! If they don't fix it i'll stop playing! It is total neglect, in my opinion. If a person doesn't want to use the feature, then simply don't! That doesn't mean those of us who want it should be punished! There have been enough votes in several closed issues! BIS, do it, stop skating over the issue!!! If you are good at developing a war simulator, why would you unrealistically limit a soldier!

I think it needs a sort of melee as well! And to those who hate the idea of it becoming arcade style, know this; THIS GAME IS TOO BIG TO EVER FEEL LIKE COD OR BATTLEFIELD! Get your mind straight, this is a simulator, so it needs realism, and it suffers from many unrealistic issues! This is completely necessary for some close situations, and should not be overlooked! And i've said this before on a post, if you don't like it don't use,it. And if you think you don't need it, then how will it affect you! If you're really good, you will never be the victim of a melee attack, just play tactical and you will notice no difference!

This destruction is the worst I've ever seen in a game. This I hope is not what the final product is like. Even if it was not delayed, the destruction is absolutely horrible. A building shouldn't fall straight down, as I've seen in this game. Objects in reality bounce off other objects and therefore the ruble would realistically be more scattered.

I totally get that i shouldn't be so upset, but honestly almost every issue on this has been closed, so they are obviously looking at them. I just think this is something they will ignore, and never put in, even in the full game. As far as blaming Devs, it may've been harsh, but like many people probably already think, this is part of combat simulation, so it really is important. No MOD should need to be made, it should already be there, and many people, not just me, agree. I would love to see this game top charts/become #1, and it has the potential, I may be a little mad about it but only because I feel that they will be making a huge mistake if it is not added. I really don't think that people understand the value of this feature. You're right about it not being something they would put in alpha, but I have become frustated with the issue in many other games as well as this! Trust me with this feature added, nothing will touch this game's sales once word gets out. I do need to chill, but if a moderator can't approve a feature they should have known ahead of time. This is ridiculous! It was approved and now it isn't, probably because of some whiney dev. It's simple add the issue or lose potenial players! Setting the status back to new was a big mistake! I want a real good reason for this feature being neglected! If the animators and devs can't figure out how to do it, they don't belong in the industry, and quite frankly it's absolutely absurd that they released an alpha to get public opinions about the game, and then they don't even listen to the people who are supporting them. If you don't want to listen, then don't bother pretending to care what we think! I'm seriously angry about this! Basically you're getting public opinion just for status, not for actual adjustment purposes. If it doesn't match what the devs alread had in mind, it won't be added, so why even bother with this alpha feedback tracking if you aren't goin to fix what the consumers want out of a product that costs real money!

This better happen for sure It is crazy that this is the third installment and this hasn't been done already! Come on BIS do this now!!!!!!!!! We need it! Listen to the majority! Most of us want it! So it should be settled! Just do it!

I'm not going to vote up or down on this, but i can live with what already is existing in alpha for diving depth. Remember that this game is based in the future, so there is room for a little freedom in this department. If you need to pretend in your own mind that you are using a type of gas, to feel comfortable, then go for it. Either way this issue should not effect many, but for simulation purposes, it is a good thing to discuss realities and i hope whatever they do makes sense for what they are trying to portray, but i'm not an experienced diver, so my opinion does not count, but i just wanted to express my unbiased opinion about this.

It's a 2013 pc exclusive! We need everything that will give our pc's a chance to shine! X64 in the case of a pc exclusive is necessary! I just don't want to hear it's not worth it, because developers create the games, we buy them. We want the best product for he money! I honestly am tired of the pc gaming industry letting us down with subpar graphics, when my pc is capable of a heck of a lot more than modern games show. By now we need to be seeing scenery that is absolutely perfect! Give us some performance optimizations! Give us anything that will make this game a true simulator and make it run flawlessly! I bought a pc to have he best, not to get the same treatment as console gamers get. And one thing is for sure, i hate it when people make excuses for professional developers! They have top-notch machines to create perfection if only they are willing to put he effort in. If he game has to wait until this time next year for release, then so be it, as long as it's perfect, i won't mind! All deadlines do, is cut away from the artistic edge!

I have the following specs:
AMD 8350 cpu
AMD 7950 GPU
8GB RAM
Windows 7

My frames are low mostly in multiplayer, and I know my system is capable of way more performance than it shows.

This could be fixed by allowing he character to climb with control v or something! This is one of he first bugs i noticed and it still not considered high priority enough to the devs! Seriously a climb would be much better for obstacles. It would be nice to see a sand barrier and no be like oh dang i gotta go around to where people are firing at me. The step over only good for very small things before here is crazy clipping!
