A better choice, for predatory animals, by the way, would have been a big Russian brown bear or even a leopard, they used to exist in Russia.

Big cats are a serious threat at night since they are silent and aggressive when hungry. Bears have been known to be shot at with medium caliber revolvers and not give a f*ck but to keep coming.

Wolves.. Man they're survivors, not warriors.

If you were attacked by 6 wolves and shot one of them dead, the other 5 would bail.

A wolf will generally attack a child, a small or weak human, after taking a long while to assess the situation, when cornered or startled, protecting young etc.

It would be best to make them in a way that they avoid the players, or at least so they don't generally attack all the time (unpredictable).

Gunshots should scare them off in any case.

Just wanted to add I think the wolves look great, and I'm glad they're coming. I really just don't want to have the ordinary video-game AI that is so far from reality and does these amazing animals such injustice.

I recently raided Zeleno and met somebody friendly who explained the new loot respawn system. We kept emptying out the barracks and new loot spawned, and it would always exhibit this type of behaviour.
Spawn 5x Aviator sunglasses -> clear them out, throw them outside
Spawn 4x SVD Mag -> clear them out, throw them outside
Spawn 5x UMP Mag -> clear them out, throw them outside
Spawn 6x Binoculars -> clear them out, throw them outside
Spawn 4x Gorka pants -> clear them out, throw them outside
Spawn 3x Smersh backpack -> clear them out, throw them outside
Spawn 1x AKM etc. etc. etc.

You dropped the weapon at some point, and it sort of "duped" meaning it is visible for certain players. Now, they can't pick up the shotgun (usually) but they can take out the ammunition out of it.

I had that happen to me this morning. It was only a kilometer away since I last dropped the gun, so I knew there was a guy there. Went back, shot two dudes, took my ammo back.

I've had the same issue since the latest update.

It can be fixed by changing graphics settings (causing the Please wait screen) unfortunately, this is impossible while in a fight.

I have no clue what the hell is wrong with YOUR brain. I clearly mapped the issue out for you above.
You collect items that take up a total of up to 8 SPACES and put 4 items into the pot (okay, let's say that still makes 8 spaces) and in the end, you end up using 2 SPACES
4 spaces would have been logical, since 4 inventory spaces is what I am effectively packing into the pot. Anything else is just garbage.

The inventory system needs a total rehaul in my opinion. As Paper26 correctly stated, you can't pack a pair of pants into your cargo pants. You can't pack a cooking pot into your raincoat. But you CAN put a pistol into a single cargo-pant or raincoat pocket (a SINGLE pocket, meaning the other pockets are empty).

Not sure but I think he's trying to say to "teleport" the second weapon up or down the ladder and as he's putting it in his hands, immediately interact with the ladder again.

This is a known issue. You don't even really need to overfeed yourself that much, apparently, but something happens that gets your stomach "überstuffed" to the point that it doesn't even register in your inventory.

In your inventory, you look, for example, energized and thirsty in the yellow, so that you think you should drink. THen you go to a pump and drink and drink and drink, and nothing changes (also not getting "stuffed")

When you eat and drink like hell and nothing changes, there are only two things you can do:

  • Wait it out until your bar drops down a notch (for example hungrier, thirstier or if you have "stuffed" it goes away) until you eat and drink again.
  • Get some food and drink in your inventory, log out and back in and when you have everything in the red immediately drink something, eat something (in that order) and then eat and drink what you have left.

I don't log out on top floors anymore because almost EVERY time I join a server I get desync and that can get you killed, because in your game you're running down the stairs but the server thinks you just jumped off the roof.

It sucks to run into a fire station and just get blown up from a mine you couldn't even see.

It's a shame though cuz I was hoping to rob a player at a heli-spawn and waited for twenty minutes and then the server restarted. Helispawn still there but no trap =o(

Confirmed.

Though I wasn't ever able to access my inventory longer than 0.1 seconds (inventory screen disappears immediately). Players with macros might be able to exploit this. Then again, I haven't tried "not moving" after being killed. But even after moving I had the "bag icon" and the options to interact with my body.

But no matter what, you shouldn't be able to hide your previously deceased body in order to prevent your killers looting you... (beyond that, "hide body" should be removed completely from the game in this form!!!)

I definitely did not describe the issue correctly.

After experimenting, the stone knife lasted AS LONG as a metal knife.

But this is still overpowered.

You can hardly use a makeshift flint knife as often and as efficiently as a metal knife.

At the 5 minute mark, I sum up how many uses each knife had.

Please make the metal knives MORE durable and the stone knife FAR LESS durable.

Also, please make the stone knife less efficient. There is no reason a flint knife should open cans better than a garden hoe in my opinion, or why it should be such a super-efficient tool for skinning animals.

It is an anti-tank mine. Meaning it shouldn't blow up when a person runs on it at all.

If it was an AP mine it would only be 1x1 slots

I also had an issue with activating. Instead of a 3 second countdown, I "activated" mine and the instant I pressed "F" it blew up killing me.

you would also need a longer respawn timer (say three to five minutes, whether you remain in the server or not)

You can keep re-suiciding and will eventually end up near your gear.

Yes but I don't know how that makes life easier for anyone. It actually makes it harder for bandits since they actually need to hide gear.

I realize people will try to get back to their gear as soon as possible but this will not be possible on many servers in future, where you will have several minutes up to hours respawn timer.

Generally, random fresh spawn will benefit from this, because gear that semi-geared players picked up will not just disappear because some full-gear with an AK shot them and clicked "hide body"

The reason I said jeans flashlight and battery can despawn is because of all the mass suiciding of people.

I'm not saying the body shouldn't despawn. I'm saying the body can go, and for all I care all the ruined gear can despawn too. Pristine gear like backpacks with content, weapons, should stay.

Oh yeah, obviously sneakers, jeans, flashlight and battery can despawn along with your t-shirt as well.

This magical disappearing act is an absolute immersion breaker and a cheap solution.

Having said that, dead bodies should not block or hinder player movement.

Built an ashwood short bow from ashwood sticks and rope.
Crafted arrows from sharp sticks and feathers.

Same result. When holding bow, I have a circular aiming zone sort of displaced at the top left part of screen (and can't shoot)

When I aim, all I can see is my hands (and I still can't shoot)

In my opinion, the problem isn't "too few" food spawns but just the fact that there is no decently designed or working item loot spawn mechanic.

Food is scarce because there is a high demand for fresh spawns, and no new food is being spawned. That is why you will find a can of soda at best.

This can also happen when using an item. It seems to have something to do with preparing for an animation it repositions you character (and has nothing to do with desync IMO)

Can knock you down when on certain stairs, too.

It's called "broken". The developers know that it is "broken"

And before 0.55 nobody with even minute playing skills ever got hit by a zombie, I took on three simultaneously with my bare fists without getting hit more than once or twice, they were that weak. Before the recent hotfix, however, they were more dangerous than players with guns.

It has nothing to do with luck, it has to do with whether the servers restart or not. I was on one server in Dolina and Staroye earlier and found lots of cool stuff including an MP5 and 3 30 round mags...

Been playing on a 50 player server since 6 hours. I can't find ANYTHING!

There are servers were you have to whack cows or freshspawn with a lug nut and cut them up with a stone knife and eat them RAW in order to even stand a chance of surviving.

This has nothing to do with "survival feeling". It is just "despicable" as the OP said.

I have the same issue. I was running away as almost fresh-spawn from some geared guys that were able to repeatedly stab me with their cattle prods, then run after me, catch up again, stab me again.... over and over and over.

Could also have to do with energized level, but I thought it weird that they actually got so close they were able to stab me while all I was doing was running.

You obviously put a lot of thought to this.

Generally, I agree that bambi default equipment needs to be rethought.
I also think that a pocket knife would make more sense than going right to find a bunch of stones and crafting a "stone knife" (that is ten times better than a kitchen knife as well).

A lighter is a great idea.

But I disagree with implementing cigarettes. As an ex-smoker for 14 years all I can say is cigarettes are a pain in the butt and being addicted complicate matters for anybody wanting to survive in an apocalypse scenario. And I really don't know if there were any positive effects for a non-smoker. Smoking one full cigarette will get your usual non-smoker to get really dizzy.

Well, I've had the issue in the meantime despite router reset.

If you're friends can hear you fuzzy on skype, it's your router. If they can hear you clearly, it's the game or the server.

Generally everyone I've played with has raged about how ridiculously powerful the zombies are. Bruce Leed would have had serious trouble against one.

The only thing to do now is run away or lock them in a house -.-

No loot, people are running around more scared of zombies than players, no fighting zombies and even animals are still bugged. This is the worst update ever. Several people on streams have said this, too.

How to deal with OP zombies in a zombie survival game:
Run around till two or three are tailing you. Then run into a large warehouse and let them come in. Run around them and run out, closing the door on your way in = locked in.
Loot in peace.

Zombies running around an entire house in a half a second without making a single footstep sound, then attacking you with kung-fu chain-punch assaults while falling backwards from your axe strike. Taking three magnum shots to the chest without ever bleeding out (guess they're undead after all). But being too dumb to smash in a window or door. No blocking, no horizontal strikes, no fluid combat motions, no dodging, nothing. Just the same old same old, but "harder".

A single infected shouldn't pose a challenge to a fully geared survivor with an axe at all. A group (three or four infected) should pose a serious danger. But if you wanted all of these actual gameplay mechanics, that would actually require some effort to develop, like a melee system....

I've discovered a disadvantage to this.

After you've started tapping X and C, you will no longer be able to cancel the action / animation.

This can lead to heavy assault and battery by zombies without a chance of escape.

Well it's definitely worse with me now, but when I join servers. After five minutes in a server, it's stabilised.

I zap and float and teleport around, and my direct is all broken up.

Don't know if it's my internet, but it started same time as this update.

And what, you never killed anybody spawning in?
This has happened to me at least once apparently, although extremely unlucky. I killed at least three guys while spawning in.

Once, I spawned in on a server with ONE other guy in Turovo and he was in the cammo building with me. I saw him because while loggin in you can see through walls. That gave me the distinct advantage in that case.

Your suggestions don't work. They both give you an opportunity to spawn in again later knowing there's a guy nearby and giving you an advantage.

What I would suggest is that you don't see anything but a black screen at all and can't hear anything until the server is fully loaded and can not be seen either until you actually decide to move your character. Zombies shouldn't attack you either.

Sometimes, you just lose connection and respawn spack in the middle of a road and can not respond to the zombie attack for almost a half a minute.

Oh please. That is just a dumb handicap. How about you reload single ROUND (not bullet!) after single round until you hit "cancel action" then it stops adding a round.

Anyway, issue was upvoted. The game development needs much more proper input like this instead of "PLEASE ADD THE VSS VINTOREZ ITZ MY FAV GUN!"

I also did some effort to come up with some good ideas to improve the reloading aspect.

Hi wilbur

I generally don't get a few things about survival mechanics in the game. Like why you would need to actually have an axe to chop down an ashwood stick, why won't a hacksaw or machete do the same. We're talking about a stick!

I also would like to see frying meat on rocks, and not have to carry a pot or pan or cooking tripod around with me.

I think the devs should actually spend two weeks on a survival holiday and THEN work on the game mechanics.

Pistol whips and buttstrokes have long been in the player request list, just like melee with bayonets.

However, melee needs general rework, it is way too primitive.
