I played yesterday and my desync was 0, though I still couldn't see helicopters... Guess its not related to the desync error, or the menu was late or something.
Even if they fix it, I don't think they will release a stable branch update any time soon.
(As a player) I have the same problem. I only saw about 3-5 people with a normal desync. This might the reason why I can't see helicopters in multiplayer.
Its not happening to everyone.
So its because your sharing your "My Documents" folder, Arma is unable to save there due to... file/folder protection?

Mission editors should be able to adjust the fatigue and sway system, same way we can adjust a units recoil. We can also have that merged with player's/servers option or skill setting.
You can blow separate parts off buildings to some extent... At least with the minigun.
Can't you just use
[unit] join createGroup EAST; ?
The units going to have to join a group anyway. So a setSide command is a bit useless because of that.

I would like a 3D Editor, as the current one isn't to good. It would make it easier to place interactive items like Intel.
That does seem quite difficult. Are you asking for a module that would generate furniture like tables, chairs, etc. into a building?
Can't you disable certain actions on that menu? Like 'Eject'? If so, could you explain how?

I also realized that the MRCO reticle does not fully show up without Depth Of Field enabled.
It works fine for me without any AA. Turning on FSAA kills my frames.
Because the BI has other important things to fix, like performance issues, while adding in new features.

The Terrain Builder works again on the latest dev update.
Are you on the latest dev update with the tools? My addon builder compiles fine.
On a side note, with that latest update, the terrain builder doesn't seem to work anymore.
I think the program is looking for gdalExtensions.dll
They just miss spelled it...
Even if you rename it, you end up with the same error, except it's MSVCP110D.dll.
I'm not against animations for doors. Also, its not just one animation, depending on how they want to do it, they would need many animations of the player opening the door : standing, crouching if you will. Slamming the door, opening the door by turning the door knob. Then they got to script the AI to open the door right. Most of the time, at the moment, they just go through the door.
I never said sounds are important, but they are easier then animations.

The player is control robots, it's a video game.
Also, seeing how the mission editor modifies how AI uses flash lights, laser sights, etc. It probably should stay the way it is.
Though, I do agree that the AI should be better at by passing mines, at least with a explosive specialist in the group, and react when a grenade is near them.
I agree with Humay's points.
AI rearm and repair from other groups vehicles if the group leader is an AI. Also, AI Leaders tell AI to heal themselves or a tells a medic(or anyone with FAKs) to help them.

Do you mean that AI commanders don't us binoculars or laser designators?

The AI should use better cover, they hardly hide behind walls even if a leader uses the take cover command. They should use buildings windows and the like. Rather then just laying down in the middle of the road.
But they can simply be achieved with a little bit of scripting and waypoints.

Simply with scripting, You can wait or sleep for a while then make the UAV move with waypoints or with 'move', 'doMove' or any of the commands like that. if it was hardcoded into the engine for AI to automatically take control of drones, the player wouldn't get little to no time at all, to destroy the drones.
" If you place UAV operator of any enemy squad, then this enemy UAV operator could use reconnaissance drone, through this increasing the combat efficiency of his squad (for example weapon accuracy). You, in turn, would destroy this reconnaissance drone. If you really want to do this, why don't you put a reconnaissance drone as a group member for your enemies?
Its useless for mission editors because we can just waypoint the drone it's self, animate AI to make it look like it's using a drone if we want.
Although, it would be nice if a player could order a UAV Operator to take control of a drone.

AI leaders, under certain circumstances, should order AI units or players to assemble static weapons. Unless there's a script command to do so.

As far as I remember, I've never seen BF AI throw a single grenade.
I wouldn't say COD AI is bad, but they seem to throw grenades whenever they feel like, doesn't matter how many enemies are there, they'll just throw one if they can't shoot the AI.

I believe that ban only applies to some countries.
Does the Geneva Convention prevent people from using Missile Launchers on other humans? I know they banned flame throwers. Only people from groups like Somalian Pirates would fire an RPG at a human, they don't follow Geneva rules.
AI can use laser sights and flashlights. You must enable them with a script command. With the Laser Sights, they'll only enable them in a fight.
The UAV or Drones are controlled on they're own when a player doesn't take control them. The Greyhawk will shoot and move on its own, the turrets ( Mk30A and the like ) will fire on its own... They are autonomous...

Well, I personally think they should remove it. I don't think people should be able to throw grenades while falling like that.
Why do you think its useless to remove the ability to throw grenades while falling/sky diving?

This actually is a good reason for BI to make or fix the/a 3D editor. We can't edit multiple attached waypoints on one building easily...
They didn't include this in 1.48. It's not in the update notes.
This happens with deleting objects. If its not allowed, "Deleting entities is not available", but the object will still be deleted.
The issue is fixed, in a way. Your still going to get frame drops due to heavy cannon fire, but you frames won't drop to 0.
Works for me, in the dev branch, of course my FPS drops but not to 0.
It also says the name shows up on the map but, it never does.

I also believe bullets are affected by wind in Arma 3. At least at very high speeds.
Well, in the campaigns config, there are options/variables to make it a coop campaign. Never tried them yet.
There going to add sling loading. Maybe they'll fix it while doing that.
I guess they can make it a separate option to disable it during command menu and other menus that show it.
It completely leaves with Weapon Crosshairs disabled.
So, is there anyway BI can make old saves work with new scenario updates/game updates?
When any of you guys lose sound, do the subtitles disappear? If I give an order after my sound has been disabled by the game, I don't see subtitles and none of the orders actually occur. ( So If I ordered a soldier to stop, I would see no subtitle and they would not stop ) Does this happen to anyone else?
Sometimes ArmA 3 stops playing sound through one speaker of my USB headphones. Only happens on ArmA 3. When I pause the game, both speakers work. If I alt-tab when it happens, and test the sound/headphones, sound plays through both speakers.
Happens to me sometimes, randomly in game, I just restart.
Does it only happen when you have headphones plugged in?
What exactly can you put in an extension that you can't do with SQF? I know extensions use C, but I can't think of a reason for what they could supply addon makers with...

Doesn't really matter. It's not like pointing out how girls/woman are in the military or how many play ArmA will make the job of creating them easier.
Bohemia didn't say they don't want to put females in their game. They said they don't have the resources.
The only reason I said that they might get in trouble was because people got annoyed that in GTAV, you can do stuff with women...

The Dev's already explained why they can't do it right now.
Probably not going to happen anytime soon. Maybe in the expansion plan. They've already planned their road map, and their probably not going to change it now.

This probably won't be in Arma 3. Arma 5, maybe? Highly doubt it will make it in to Arma 4 either. It isn't too important anyway.
By saying "its not a big deal" are you trying to point out that's its something we shouldn't complain about if its added or are you trying to point out that women are easy to add to the game?
You can always spawn a light and attach it to the helicopter for the time being.
The follow waypoint does work. They will move up after the unit they are following is a certain amount of meters away from the "following" squad.

Don't they have a class/unit type per faction, that has all the properties/variables for the medic, repair, etc. functions?
It does have the respawn module, but that's useless unless you setup the respawn system in the description.ext file. <b>twistking</b> was asking for respawn scripting options to be in the editor GUI.
I don't think respawn scripting would be possible through the editor because that stuff goes into the description.ext file. Unless the game will write one for you.
They have green, red, and yellow tracers in the game. Some are disabled and you can only get the magazine by scripting, some other weapons just don't have those other tracer types.
Doesn't give them the right to implement it.
