I can agree on the point for bigger weapons such LMGs.
Those should be "lowered" while opening a door.
On the other hand, an assault rifle should just loose some stability / accuracy (enlarge the reticle) while pistols / smgs should not loose stability.

Agreed but certainly it should be under Animation category instead of movement and for sure not with a High priority. This is just a cosmetic issue, normal or even low would be more appropriate imo.

As i said, you can open a door with your weapon at the ready in real life and this, being a simulator, tends to be realistic and so it is.
Still we need an animation (it's ugly to see the door open by itself)

Have you tried with the configuration software disabled ?
The issue is certainly there, since you can't use menu stuffs.
Now we just have to help devs to pinpoint the cause !

In my case, i have the software's icon in the taskbar (lower right corner of the screen, next to the clock and calendar) and all i have to do is to right click > exit .

If it's not the case for you, do the following:

  • Go on START
  • In the search bar write msconfig and press enter
  • Go in Startup tab
  • Deselect (remove the check mark) the mouse software
  • Apply and reboot

You will be able to re-enable it by the same procedure.

As Zalifer said, you need to "reload" your gun with the non-underwater stanag rounds to be effective on surface (uw rounds have 30m effective range).

Yeah the problem is actually 90% sided on the MP side!

SP runs just great (most likely privately hosted servers being a cap).

Remember @all that server current FPS make client's current FPS drop.

Example: Server with 50 FPS
Client can get up to 50 FPS untill 2 or 3 players are on.. when it comes to 6 players you start dropping around 30 and so on

It has always been like this in every OFP/ArmA game !!

Tried last night the same mission privately hosted by a friend and on a gamed!de test server.
On the private host we got around 25 fps, on the ded. server more than 50 !

Server side fps really matters!
Keep it mind.. indeed the game still needs some optimization due to the problem described in the OP

CTRL+E is a keybinding for head tilde right.
Use CTRL+5 (numpad) to reset the view point.

The reason is simple:
in real life when you fire a gun your body reacts to the recoil and puts the muzzle back to where it was before the shot (with some error threshold).
In the game this body reaction must be done via mouse input.
Old ArmA builds (ArmA1 and 2, for istance but also OFP and VBS) had the auto-recenter feature that simulated this body behavior.
In my opinion, as well as all the other down-voters, that behavior has to be an user input and not an automatic mechanism as it was in the previous games and in most of moder arcade-ish shooters

Everyone here seems to keep forgetting a "little" detail..
human body is springy, true, but because it's a reflex reaction to the recoil.
In the game the soldier is just a texturized object, and the player is "the body itself".

If you don't drag your mouse to counter the recoil is exactly the same as in real life you fire without holding your gun!

Therefore is correct (IMO) that when you create a new profile it is automatically set to the default values.

It's a known issue that SLI causes flickering / artifacts.
Disable it and should solve the problem :)

It's just a server<>client sync issue.
The server doesn't properly realize that you changed weapon if you pick it up from a crate/vehicle, but does if you drop it on the ground (has to render it for all clients at this point)

I'm not 100% sure but i think the numbers are bright at night time like it was in ArmA2.

In my screenshot there's too much light to "trigger" the bright night version and too dark (it's the sunrise and i'm facing the sun) to read them like in plain daylight.

Anyways you just need to look a bit down so the sunlight hits your compass and it's lighten up by the sun itself (how it was in A2!)

Also make sure that both your resolution and rendering resolution is the same!

Yeah i agree with you when it comes to be aware of what stance i'm in by remembering the keys i press but some others don't, hence the upvote :)

Also, in real life you can "feel" your position, and that kind of feeling it's impossible to reproduce in a game (arcade or simulator) if not with a stance indicator

They are more likely refering to the stance modifications High/Low/Left/Right

You can't really define in which one you are unless you look down to your feet or go in 3rd person view.

I'm used to it too but i also understand the needs of others about it :)

Suggestion for devs:
Put a little soldier-shaped icon on the top left side of the screen.
Green color = Slow walking
Yellow color = Tactical pace
Orange color = Jog
Red color = Sprint

Also, make it change shape based on your stance like standing, crouching, prone, including the standard, low and high variants (see ACE MOD for ArmA2 as example)

Try disabling SLI and see if the problem persist.
I don't have any graphical issue with a single HD7950.
Also, it's possible that Alpha version doesn't support SLI/CrossFire properly.

Also, the web is full of guides about that.
The old ArmA:Armed Assault editing guide from Mr-Murray is still great even for ArmA3 since the base engine and editor are the same as the very first release.

It's a known issue in other (old) games!
In other simple words, to make users able to use the right ALT key (ALTGR) the CTRL key overlaps with ALT key in some combinations (ALT GR is usually "seen" as CTRL+ALT)
