Compare the version number of the Nvidia/AMD driver you have with the one on their site. I have no problem with the Nvidia driver 314.09.
You need to attach a file with the crash report so they can see what's going on. Look at the top right corner of the page, the guide will show you how to do it.
Hmm, it is late over there in the Czech Republic. Maybe they will get to it tomorrow.
Its only really windows 8 that is causing the problem i have read many others like this post. Its really hard to play the game without pushing a key button and crashing right away.
I have the Intel hd 4000 driver which is under the requirements. I think its a problem with that driver because i uninstalled it and had a crappy one. I loaded Arma 3 and i could open the settings but there is no playing on that driver because the amount of lag. I then re installed The intell driver and updated it and it went back to crashing
Its minimum specs all the rest is above recomended. The problem isnt the graphics because i can play everything fine its just when i go into the video options i crash same with when i try to open gear. Ive already installed it in another pc with windows 8 and a better graphics card with the same result.
I have the same problem, My friend has the same computer as I do and he can run his arma 3 just fine, This is a weird crash, Do you crash when you open gear in game as well?
Yes if i try to open my inventory or if i try to go through some ones gear it will crash
The client or (ARMA III) keeps crashing. For reasons unknown. Probably because of Windows 8 64-bits.
I hate to be that guy but i spent the money to buy it and it kinda sucks that i can play but if i go into a wasteland server and start with nothing to try to check through gear and crash. I dont really care about the video setting just the fact i cant play normally
You and I, and the others all paid for an alpha. Not a beta, an alpha, something that will have bugs that we, right now, are reporting so the final release will be a better experience for all whom have the game. It's been assigned and they're working on it, so have some patience.
It cant be Windows 9 64-bits. A buddy of mine and my self have the same computer, the HP Envy. It has the windows 8 64 Bit. He can play with 0 Crashes and 0 Errors (I'm jelly of him.) and like I said I crash when I access GEAR or the VIDEO. The only difference is the fact that I bought the Deluxe and he bought the normal package.
Can you please try install latest graphic and sound drivers? Usage of driver cleaner before installing new drivers will make sure you have no corrupted drivers left on computer.
I just updated my drivers and It did not work for me, I don't think it will work for him.
Just curious, but is anyone experiencing this crash that is not using an integrated graphics chipset?
I just went ahead and Reset my computer back to factory settings just to make sure I didn't accidently do something to my drivers, And It still didn't work. I'm getting desperate to play the game I spent 50 Dollars on!
I did the Windows 8 refresh to get the game from crashing when I go to my inventory or click "Video"...still doesn't work, I hope this gets fixed. I really want to Enjoy this game without crashing.
Alright In the long run, There are users with windows 8 64 bit that don't crash, so that's not a problem. It might be the Drivers, What kind of Drivers does everyone use ( people who are crashing. )
The current version of my graphics driver I'm running is 9.17.10.2932
This is an Intel HD 2000
Win7:
C:\Users\(USER ACCOUNT NAME)\Documents\Arma 3 Alpha
Edit Arma3Alpha.cfg with notepad (even better with Notepad++). Change settings as you wish.
Win8 directory of this? Not sure, someone who uses Win8 will have to find it.
I would advise only editing:
fullScreenWidth=1920;
fullScreenHeight=1080;
refresh=120;
renderWidth=1920;
renderHeight=1080;
multiSampleCount=2;
postFX=5;
particlesQuality=2;
HDRPrecision=16;
vsync=0;
AToC=15;
cloudsQuality=5;
pipQuality=5;
dynamicLightsQuality=4;
PPAA=8;
Touching anything else can lead to more instability possibly, and there is already enough of that with it being in alpha.
Win8:
C:\Users\(Account Name)\Documents\Arma 3 Alpha
Yes, that's the directory to the Arma3Alpha.cgf file for Win8 users.
No problem. This applies to any game with an accessable cfg file though. For instance, CoD4 on Win7 loves to crash when changing graphical settings, so I have to revert to this method.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
To adjust remainder including texture:
- Open (NAME).Arma3AlphaProfile in same folder with Notepad++ (Notepad may work)
- Edit the few lines on top, such as:
anisoFilter=16;
textureQuality=4;
shadowQuality=3;
Just saw that Arma3Alpha.cfg didn't contain them all.
@SplashAnimal you need to update your drivers, the current Intel HD Drivers are 15.28.12.64.2932
EDIT: Updated them too, no difference
Minimum is HD 4000.

I got the Minimum Requirements, But I get the error, I'm sure allot of us who get the crash have the Minimum requirements.
Yeah I have at least minimum Requirements, I'm sure it will be in the next patch or one of the next few.
I have minimum requirements for GFX Card (Intel HD Graphics) but everything else have is above reccomended (Intel Core i5-3330 CPU 3.00GHZ, 8GB RAM, etc.)
"I have minimum requirements for GFX Card (Intel HD Graphics) but everything else have is above reccomended (Intel Core i5-3330 CPU 3.00GHZ, 8GB RAM, etc.)"
No you don't. The i5-3330 utilizes the HD 2500 series GPU controller.
Anyone who is below the minimum specifications should not expect a fix to work for them, since the fix will be targeted to those who falls within the minimum and above.
With the fact that I've come to, My friend has the same Everything, drivers, computer, Specs, Models, Antivirus. He can run it just fine with out this crash. The only differences is [ OUR KEYS ] and the fact that I got the [ DELUXE ] and he got the normal download. So, It might be a Key Error, or the Deluxe download files on Steam might have corrupt files.
Phracter Im getting this crash and i only got the normal download so i dont think its the deluxe download.
Verifying the game cache would fix game corruption issues. It is likely the game is just picky with your setup, as it is for others. Even though two i7-3770K's look literally the same, they are different on the nanometer scale. This applies with all technology.
I doubt its a key error, even though those can act bizarre in the ARMA games.
Have you guys tried the development alpha? Right click ArmA 3 Alpha in your Steam library > Properties > Betas tab > development
Its been assigned, so it'll happen eventually. Possibly the next update, or a later one. I assume they'll try to nudge it into the inevitable oncoming one.
We will know when the update comes, steam will either ask or automatically do it for you
If you guys like to play domination and you cant because of the gear just find a server with a virtual ammo box. :)
there was a server and some how I was able to get into gear but then the other servers I couldn't.... They need to put this at top of getting fixed because you cant play without opening gear -_-
@RangerVudoo I meant uploading the crash report and link it here. If they can't reproduce this then it's very hard to fix with limited information.
Has anyone tried the new development build? According to the change log it has "tons of crashfixes" http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?149411-How-to-change-between-stable-Arma-3-Alpha-versions-amp-release-candidates-STEAM-client&p=2330268&viewfull=1#post2330268
@Unratedmerc thats likely because most people are using the stable build rather than the candidate.
The developer build may never be compatible with the alpha. Reason is, what will usually happen is when the developer build passes through its improvements, it will have some final touches, and be the new alpha. By that point, it's likely a new developer build will be up, which will again make its way to alpha and be incompatible meantime. (different versions)
Although it did crash with the developer build previously, that was before some updates, and it hasn't crashed with the latest dev build recently.
