My game won’t stop crashing since the 1.12 update
Same here, with no update as to an actual fix. Switching servers is not a fix...

Those are cheaters using aimbot. Nothing new here it's been a feature since the game came out.
Same problems here. I had little to no issues before this update too. Now I crash quite often. I have tried switching servers, sometimes it helps temporarily, and I can play for about 20 minutes. Then it crashes. I'm tired of doing that and having to go completely across the map to get where I was when I'm back to my original server. Then it crashes again. I mean, is this an identified issue? Is it being worked? Kinda crazy there are this many problems for this long after a game update, and I've heard nothing as to an actual fix. I've rebooted the xbox, and reinstalled the game. No joy.

Firearm shot audibility has been adjusted for pistols at 250 meters, SMGs and shotguns up to 800 meters, ARs up to 2000 meters, and big caliber rifles up to 3500 meters.
Exactly man, like what game are we playing here? You cant pull out something so unrealistic and dumb for the sake of "stealth" if you want to be stealthy, find or craft a suppressor, that's what they're there for. So daft

Don't make up such fantasy values when the old system did what it was supposed to.
Sure, it might just be a placeholder, but why are we even dealing with this being a placeholder rn? we had such a perfect system in place already and its just been totally ruined for no reason. This is what upsets me the most
Kambiwobo is longer than 250 meters. So you could literally spawn near Kambi and not hear somebody get killed.
I just hope that this is an early placeholder (why even decide on such a low value), and it will get changed very very soon.
Its usually whenever I log into a server it gives me that error.

I don't believe so Jerry. Personally I didn't miss the point and for what I have read, others here haven't missed it either. No doubt that you are in your right to think that someone has missed the point but the change is so obvious that there isn't a problem with that here. Small, medium, big, very big, then sound related to size. Not logic in terms of what firearms are. Firearms make noise, a lot, even the smallest of them. The gap is not small, it is huge. Those changes are made just in the name of gameplay "balance". Balance taking account the size in this case. Not right, not realistic, not authentic, not DayZ. Why change it, push to stable and change it again?
Can at least tell me if going do something about it or not
Point still stands- keep it closer to reality. No unsuppressed firearm discharge will ever be completely inaudible below 1,000 meters. I’d say bump pistols up to the same level as the smg:s (same ammo!) shotguns twice that, AR:s to 2,500 and leave the biggies at 3,500 meters.

Seems logical enough to me, but maybe not as extreme as 1.12.
So, if I understand Geez' reply correctly, they want to promote the use of smaller caliber firearms by making their noise stealthy...... isn't that what suppressors are for? And in a zombie apocalypse, you don't exactly have the luxury to pick and chose weapon, you make do with what you find. "Oh no, the gun makes a noise"... well too bad. Use it or ditch it.

Found this, an interesting read on the subject. Probably not feasible to put all these factors into the calculation of how long gunshots are heard in-game (I can only imagine the effect on server performance...), but nevertheless an interesting read:
Indeed. Please keep the realism and rather expand upon it. You should be able to make decisions based on realism as much as possible as opposed to learning some "in-game lore" of how different systems perform in the name of balancing.

How about sticking to somewhat reflecting reality instead of inventing arbitrary fantasy levels in the name of gameplay "balance"? It is going down a road of arcadish "gamey" changes that - to put it bluntly - does not belong in DayZ.

Main motivation behind this change was to make sure all firearms are not set to the same range, but there is a variety that promotes the use of smaller calibres (firearms). We wont be reverting these changes for 1.12, but they will be iterated upon in future update (with a primary focus on pistols and shotguns).

It’s already known that running a server without signature verification allows others to load unsigned code - which itself is a security issue, and people are now running servers without signature verification.
It's a security issue, it's hard for them to talk about as it could help bad people
the server is now live again as of a few hours ago (i don't know when specifically).
Very difficult for me to comment on the specifics of your individual server’s load out, and the issue the individual players are experiencing. Especially given huge popularity of the DZSA launcher, which itself has been responsible for not loading DayZ community server load outs correctly after the 1.12 update - issues I’d level at the DZSA launcher itself not handling things 100%.

I've always thought that breaking out of handcuffs takes way too short time. Same goes with lock picks, skinning animals... Most timers are off imo. You shouldn't be able to skin an animal that fast and get that much meat.

Problematic points with the new update for server owners:
The crash still is happening 5 days into the patch with no update from developers. I can switch severs and load in bug then I spawn on the coast kilometers from where I logged out at. This happens after a couple of days even after switching severs. Can someone please update me on this issue? This is on sever AP- SG 6802
