If im correct Arma uses the full setup of speaker configured in Windows. Since you change that to stereo you do the workaround some prople did before (but yours is compatible with all possible devices).

I have a workaround that works completely for me and may help the developers understand the problem. It's not a solution, but makes the game playable, but first a bit of backstory:

I have a workaround that works completely for me and may help the developers understand the problem. It's not a solution, but makes the game playable, but first a bit of backstory:
The 2d map editor was abolished some months ago. But you can import old missions and -while in the map editor- press the "M" key to switch to map mode. It is not the same editor but it very much feels like the old one.

Okay I found the problem on my end. My GPU is dying. Starting to see artifacts and regular crashes even while playing different games.
I have not ran an Antivirus Check. I'm checking the Battleye FAQ page and will let you know if anything works.

This could also solve the "Battleye master Server is down and is blocking our Extensions. So we can't use ACRE/TFAR/ACE anymore"
I get messaged a couple times per month with "Battleye blocks my TFAR". I feel like the Bisigns for Extensions could completly replace the Battleye whitelisting process. If servers allow Bisigns for Hacks. We can't do much about it anyway.

Lex. I just tried that, and when I go to Start Arma3Battleye, it says "Failed to read initialization file."
At 1.72, there are good changes in the behavior of Darter. It can easily be stabilized when it can not come to the waypoint.

Also I believe it is very easy for devs to fix this predicament with a script (maybe 20 minutes) and allow the player to choose if he wants the game avatar to remember his previous firemode or just use the first firemode that is next to safety mode.
Someone said that it is because of "Realism" and "Safety". He explained that the avatar set's the firemode to Safety when you switch weapons and then when you switch back to the original weapon the avatar sets the firemode to the first mode after Safety mode.
In response to that argument I must say that if the game avatar is doing that without the Player telling him to do so, that means the avatar is has some sort of willpower of his own. If that is the case why doesn't he remember which firemode the player had commanded him to use?

Just tested the latest release of ARMA 3 ... appears now turning off the virtual surround no longer works!! Only by using the 32-bit Client is this game playable with a USB 7.1 Surround headset and AMD CPU.
Bumping this because it's still an issue. Is there any other information the devs need from us that can help speed up the fix development?
