The Status command menu (menu 5) cannot be used unless the player selects subordinate units (or presses the ` (tilde?) key to select all units). This includes when the player is not group leader. I cannot see any other action/command that is bound to the 5 key, that justifies this.
This in confusing, as primary purpose of the status command menu is to report the player's status (rather than the status of subordinate units).
Disabling command menus 1,2,3,4 without selecting a unit first can be justified, as these menus can only be used to give orders to a subordinate.
The Status command menu should always open when the player presses the 5 key (as occurs with the Reply menu, when the player presses the 0 key).
No key bindings should not work without a conflicting binding or a very good reason.
