*update* I've seen reports of the server browser still being laggy as hell for some people

battleye does not ban people based on evidence like this. Only if their program detects a hacker will they get a BE ban.
crash/restart server functionalities are a serious issue that the devs need to look into.
Also global voice was supposed to be fixed and force restart/crash I haven't heard of in a while.
They don't fall through the ground, they disappear to where you picked them up
What Ive noticed is that the chemlights appear where they spawned or where they were last dropped.

not a bug, the devs might change it when they redo the player controls
usually this happens by having a few of those protector case-ammo box-protector case boxes on you. Too many items.
+ there is a hidden health variable (besides blood, bone and shock)
it doesn't regenerate and each time you get hit it goes down. Eventually it will reach 0 and you die. Doesn't matter if you are at full blood and no shock, it goes to 0 and you're done. Can be a single slap from a zombie that kills you.

pretty sure this isn't a hardware issue or the games issue with specific hardware (RAGE texture pop-in with AMD cards). Its just how the game is made.
Make a few of them, log out and you might find yourself unable to get in a server again.

try these in dayz launch options in steam
-w 1920 -h 1080 (or what your resolution is)
dayz seems to scale options, running dayz on my igpu i get bs like 680x340 too and won't let me go higher.
maybe its a case of dayz putting the settings so low that it isn't taxing on the iGPU and Optimus doesn't think you need the dedicated card.
Try disabling the iGPU in your BIOS if its possible or maybe there is a setting in Optimus where you can force the 980M to turn on.

afaik vehicles are not persistent, they do get reset at restart.
there is a popular duping method involving restarting the server.
Player 1, Player 2
1 drop backpack
2 pick up backpack and log out
1 restart server
or something like that
player 2 logged out and had his stuff saved
player 1 restarted the server before the server synced with the hive and kept his backpack.
There are/were ways to do this on any server involving handcuffs and killing.

did you do any fps tweaks like set scene complexity down to 150 000 from 500 000. I know that that can cause weird textures and models.
yes, the reloading times for stripper clips/fast loaders is identical, only difference is that you can use the speed loaders from the action menu
It is an issue as long as it isn't correct. It robs you of a decision you could make and is just plain wrong functionality.
It was a bigger issue in the mod because of the fighting at NFAW, its all about the coast now.
Damn, that took a while. This has been a known issue ever since the mod days.
I just tried some stuff. The zombie jump attacks don't hit when they happen, they happen when the zombie lands on the ground + 0.5-1 seconds or more after.
This makes the issue worse because you ran further away and it becomes more of a BS moment.
But yea, sometimes you get hit when the zombie makes no contact with you.
I have updated the issue for 0.54, now it isn't 100% like it used to be.

I can confirm this. I got it on the mod too. As you get closer the grass textures/models get more complex/replaced or more pop in. Only that this happens very close to you and is very noticable. Also seems to be happening in batches and inconsistent distances.
There are no inbetween steps for the low quality and high quality and some don't have low quality. This is the reason for the pop-in.

Yes, it is because of something DayZ is doing. Just like how when Starcraft 2 beta destroyed peoples graphics cards. It was a game pushing faulty hardware to its limits. The cards had insufficient cooling/were full of dust and thermal protection wasn't being engaged. DayZ is doing something that other games aren't and that thing is causing it to fail.
It is either your card or something in Nvidia drivers. DayZ is just a game, it can't crash a healthy card on a healthy system. It can crash itself but not your graphics card.
If you have an uncommon bug/glitch then these nerd programs are what you are going to have to use to get to the bottom of it. Either that or RMA/buy a new card. Spend time troubleshooting or pay money.
When you crash do you have any errors in event viewer? Post them here. Maybe your CPU is throwing out hardware errors.

I deal with these things casually. They will know better.
The fact that downclocking the GPU fixed the crash hints to me that it is your GPU. The missing textures hints that you downclocked your card too much.
Try this. Downclock your core in 1 MHz and memory in 4MHz steps. Play and see if you crash. Stop downclocking when you stop crashing, hopefully you don't have graphics glitches at that point.
Another thing you can try before downclocking is to increase your voltage in Precision X. Maybe your card is tired and requires more voltage to do the same thing it did before. If that doesn't work set voltage to default and downclock.

I don't know what the issue is but try this.
Step 1. Remove all nvidia drivers and software and then install the latest drivers. http://www.overclock.net/t/1150443/how-to-remove-your-nvidia-gpu- drivers (you'll get the latest driver from nvidia.com)
Step 2. Use FurMark to test for gpu stability (if you crash there is a problem with the gpu). http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5462-furmark.html use the "burn-in test". Make sure your card is clean of dust. As I recall the 285 is extremely hot by default, FurMark will really make it burn.
Step 3. Download Heaven Benchmark http://unigine.com/products/heaven/download/ turn everything as high as it will let you and use full screen mode. Run the benchmark a couple of loops. If you crash then its your card.
Step 4. If you crashed in FurMark or didn't crash in it but you are still unstable in DayZ. Or crashed in Heaven or didn't but you are DayZ unstable then download EVGA PrecisionX and DOWNclock your card. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5348-evga-precision-x.html
Remove 20 MHz from the core and 100 MHz from from memory. See if you are stable. If not then remove 20 + 100 again until you are.
Your GPU is probably damaged. Something DayZ is doing is causing your faulty GPU to poop itself.
one of the devs said that if you kill a zombie with gunfire then when it respawns it will be hostile to you and come after you.
I too have noticed that the gates disappear when viewed from certain angles.
this is especially annoying because you need to be in the raises stance for melee to work.
Both can be found in hospitals and the blue medical buildings now.
think its the network bubble messing up, the sounds are happening somewhere on the server and are being sent to you.
I had a problem like this with Punkbuster and Bitdefender. As soon as I joined a PB server my computer locked up. Couldn't put it on the allow list or anything.

Perhaps this is something like windows defender deleting certain game/software cracks without giving you an option to keep them or allow them. Or windows firewall saying it has temporarily blocked a game when you first open it when in reality it hasn't blocked shit because you've peen playing multiplayer for the past 4 hours.
sounds like a problem with eset because dayz is legit and works without it. DayZ is just doing its thing and the firewall is the one screwing around. Be sure to report it to eset.
especially confusing because in the server browser it says you are joining the version server that your client is.

@Trivium, very possible. I had a mostly full inventory and didn't bother picking up sodas, just drank them. Kept getting broken slots.
I know what causes this. When you eat something then sometimes you are left with an invisible 0% food item. Drop the container on the ground and pick it up again and the invisible food item disappears.
Disconnect and reconnect and now the invisible food item is visible, you can drop it now.
I have noticed that 0% food tends to happen more often if you are eating too fast.

same stuff, inventory slots broke. I managed to fix one of them but not the other. I don't know what I did to fix it. I moved stuff around, dropped stuff on the ground, removed clothing etc.
Same thing for magazines and weapons. Empty magazine on ground - ammo gone.
Remove rounds from weapon on ground - no ammo.

When they find a new website that has dayz hacks they can DMCA them from google search and keep monitoring the website.
This way the only things you get through google as far as dayz hacks go are trojans and keyloggers.
This was fixed a long time ago, for existing characters the fix was to die. There have been player wipes since then.
This was fixed, medicine does not make you sick anymore. Maybe it the future they will add overdosing to the game.

This has changed. I just ate 30+ antibiotics + painkillers and charcoal tablets. I did not get sick.
It used to be that every medical thing you took gave you the "sick" notification, including disenfecting your wounds, but they changed it.
This was fixed a long time ago.
Servers with lowercase z, Dayz as opposed to DayZ are perma day, at least those are the server naming rules. get a flashlight and play at night.

Hmmmm... I was having some major problems with my router/network card last spring when I was server hopping for loot... all kinds of errors that I had to use the network troubleshoot utility to fix.
No errors when not connected to a router but directly to the switch in basement.
I play DayZ a lot less now, but occasionally I've had issues where I've needed to run the network troubleshooter to fix DNS and other connectivity issues.
Who knows.
A long time ago when I had a crap router, every time I refreshed the server list for Wolfenstein: ET, my router would restart. Every. Time.
Is there some kind of monitoring software that you can use to see exactly what happens?
Try removing your router from the equation and see if the problem persists.
