My apologies Geez, it seems I can only recreate this issue on a modded map. I should have checked vanilla before I submitted a ticket that is 100% my fault.

Keep in mind that spawned NPCs do not receive shock damage. So these numbers don't necessarily represent how many shots it would take to drop a target. For example 1 headshot will knock them unconscious.

1 thing I would really love to see from this is modders having the ability to change vanilla buildings. I think there is a lot of potential in DayZ to change building interiors and create a bunch of new verities from that. I understand that it's a lot of work from the devs but giving that opportunity to the players would be really sick

Actually I just thought, the flashbang and other explosives in general should defintely give the "ringing" ears effect if they blow up near you even if it doesn't directly hit you. This would be a nice touch to the realism / immersion but also would be a nice buff for the flashbang, meaning even if you don't directly blind them, you can give them distorted audio queues just by chucking flashbangs near them.

This is cool. I get it from a realism perspective that suppressors really aren't that quiet. They can even be heard at like 400m and beyond.

Nah I defintely disagree. Suppressors in DayZ are extremely strong. Being able to suppress a 20round, semi auto .308 weapon is just too much. The balance of these weapons is that they are very strong, but also very loud. Making them very strong and silent is just way too much

Yea you kinda said it yourself, players will just respawn until they spawn with whatever gear is the best. The thing is, this would be great for an RP server or whatever, but the vast majority of DayZ players would simply just dig for that initial advantage, there would be specific spawn kits which would just be better than others, and then everyone would go for those ones and suicide if they got anything else.

Yep, snap and impact sounds are both too quiet, agree.
Yea I defintely agree, even with shotguns and SMGs particularly. People can be blasting shots like 1km from you and you often won't even hear it.

The hunting vest is also thinner though, IRL you would be able to fold that / stuff it up much easier than the assault vest

I'm not really sure if this is an issue but rather just how DayZ is. The difference between looking at a town with complex models and high object density vs an open field with trees will always show quite a bit FPS difference. Just a matter of loading more stuff in the scene.
I disagree personally. The inventory in dayz is very forgiving already, you can have a huge amount of slots very easily. And the hip pack is basically just an extra 6 slots for free ontop of all that.

I think its important to keep balance in mind for some things too though. For example you mentioned the utes island. In my opinion that would be a bad addition for Chernarus. It puts a lot more emphasis on the coast, it pushes more geared players to the coast and pushes the "end game" in the total wrong direction, right back to freshie towns. This is already a problem in vanilla with too many people hanging around the coast, especially with rify shipwreck being toxic now it already has become worse in that regard.

Hmmmm I wouldn't say that's true. They've been making changes to a lot of the optics recently. The PSO and Kashtan optics both got a complete rework and they look way higher quality. They also did the same with the MRS sight too. The model outside of the optic is whatever imo, it's mainly just the sight picture inside of the optic that needs work, which we know they can do because of the recent updates.

This model is due an upgrade too btw Geez. You guys have been making some great improvements to optics recently and I think this one would benefit massively from the same treatment.
I partially agree and understand your point...But recoil defintely still needs tweaked imo, for the sake of balance but also realism. If you look at any combat footage IRL, you will very very rarely ever see a soldier shooting full auto, they are always shooting semi auto and those guns still do kick quite a lot. In DayZ it's the total opposite, the majority of the time all you will see is full auto because its just so easy to spray and hold that recoil down easily even up to like 100+ meters.

Yep, I've been saying this for a long time now. DayZ really really really needs a gunplay / PVP overhaul. I would actually say SQUAD is a good example, SQUAD is too overdone for what DayZ is, yes....but the style is good, high recoil, real sway, reticles that actually sway on the screen rather than being 100% pinned to the centre of the screen like they are in DayZ atm.

We will do some more digging into this. The strange thing is that we started noticing it just after the 1.21 update, and we haven't made any changes to the server setup since then (it was working as intended before that)

Birdshot, hollowpoints and poison / bone tipped arrows would be cool. But AP ammo is a path that just shouldn't be walked. People already drop so fast in DayZ, no need to make it even faster.

Our admins also tell us that it is not only when people get kicked. But also just when they log off...the entire server gets a message telling them that info. Constantly, when you have (for example) 95 slots, it gets quite ugly tbh...they defintely need to add an option to remove this

I would like to add...The birds stopping their sounds as soon as somebody shoots has been a thing for years, since the game released into 0.63 at minimum. WOBO only just covered it now but that doesn't mean its a new feature. I agree that its a bit janky, but it has never effected the game before so it really wont now imo.

Hey, just wanted to comment, this has been an issue in DayZ for years btw. Not in all scopes, but particularly the hunting scope for example. The exact same thing happens on PC too, it's just hardware related so it defintely happens on Xbox aswell as playstation. Hopefully they can optimise it a little in the future
