I want to share a quick point on the balance of bears in DayZ right now. Currently they are essentially not a threat at all. There's a mechanic where basically as long as you don't damage the bear, it will hit you once to knock you out and then leave you alone. Players just cheese this system currently. If you run into a bear, you just let it knock you out so that you can continue as normal. Basically making the bear threat pretty useless.

I would suggest making the mechanic a bit more RNG. Sometimes it might knock you out and leave you alone, sometimes it might kill you or sometimes it might just fuck you up pretty badly and then leave you alone. Low HP, bunch of bleeds, ruined clothes etc etc.
