Ello, so something I really love with the most recent 1.22 update is the strive in the direction of more civilian clothing, and also the rebalancing of the backpacks in terms of the CLE. Very very nice change and one that has been needed for a while I think.

I think you guys should consider the same treatment for military clothing in game. For many years now, military clothing has always been the go-to in dayz. It's just simply very easy to find and the combination of inventory slots / hotbar slots given from military clothing just makes it some of the best gear to wear in game.

The only other clothing that can somewhat compete with military is hunter clothing. The vast majority of civilian clothing in game is just completely over looked as being just somewhat useless ground loot. The stuff that you pick up just until you can get to a military area and grab some better stuff.

The main reasons I think this is bad for DayZ comes down to mostly cosmetics but also game balance. In terms of cosmetics, in my opinion it is WAY cooler to see people dressing up with the cool civilian clothing, it feels more real and immersive and it provides so much more uniqueness and soul to the characters rather than everyone just being a military giga - chad all the time.

Also just in terms of game balance I think military clothing makes it way too easy to obtain a very high amount of inventory slots very easily.

I would suggest :

  • A decrease in the amount of military clothing that spawns across the board
  • A rebalance to their spawn points within the world (perhaps push the good stuff more into higher tiers)
  • A reduction in inventory slots. For example most military clothing can hold 42 slots, even if this number was reduced down to 30 I think that would be a great change

Chiming in to 100% agree with this, the game would benefit from having more civilian alternatives with equal or even better attributes than the typical go-to military camos. Add carpenter's trousers - you know the kind where even the pockets have pockets - tool belts, worker's vest, worker's winter jackets (big, bright yellow but waterproof, very warm and with pockets from Harry Potter's wildest dreams). Also, it was fun in Legacy when different clothes also had different shapes to their inventory (biker jacket's horizontal pockets...), which would be less relevant now that we can rotate stuff, but it would still add some uniqueness to various clothes rather than everything being flat out 5x6 or 6x7.

yes. this should also count for the hunting jackets/pants. its numbers should be decreased and also removed from low tier zones.
why have high/best insulation clothing (any kind) anyway in tier1 zones? higher tier zones provide better weapons, the same should appear with clothes, bags and vests.
character progression is a huge part in dayz, so give us some more use of the "not-so-great-clothing", at least in the early stages of a char.

yea... we just have way too many inventory slots. i made at least one ticket about this in the past. one of those things that were managed better during the alpha stage, where u actually had to CHOOSE what to pick up and what to leave behind. now u just put that truck battery in your tracksuit pants (!) and also take this 5th rifle with u. and jog endlessly on top of it :)

i think all this would be good improvements for the gameplay and its progression.
