Data Verification Error - 1.23
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Heyo, since the 1.23 update I have been getting a drastic increase in the amount of "Data Verification Errors"

Typically happening on 1st time connecting to the server, or trying to connect after server restarts. Unfortunately I don't much more info than that, I don't know specifically what causes it or what fixes it. But its happening quite frequently in 1.23 compared to almost never happening at all in the past

Hello, we are also experiencing this error, it's not always the case for everyone, but a lot of players report that after restarting the server, they get this error and have to restart Steam and sometimes the PC.

Hello ItzMikeDocherty.
Have you verified the game data through Steam after the update? (Also, please make sure Steam cloud sync is disabled)

Hey Geez thanks for the info. I'll try this and see if it continues happening

Hey, no need to reply but I just wanted to share some more info:

we have lots of players in our server getting this same error. I am advising them to try what you suggested above ^ hopefully it helps. But it seems to be a very common issue with 1.23 (we haven't seen this with any other patches)

me too, the same problem. get with 1.23

@Geez Hey...One of our server developers is reporting that it still happens after verifying files and disabling steam cloud. Its inconsistent but still happens

We also have several reports of this issue. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it which would help us identify a cause, as it only affects a subset of players, but it seems to affect them consistently. Usually trying again using the in-game server browser (provided the proper mods are loaded) works.

Our players report this normally only happens while players are joining post-restart, but not when joining while the server has been up for a while.

Perhaps the system which limits number of players that can load into the server at a time (loginQueueConcurrentPlayers) has suffered a regression with the other changes that have been made?

If this error were to exist community-wide, this tracker would be flooded with reports, but it's not. Two options are left:

1.Bad server setup
2.Bad host.

I think it's unlikely that servers/hosts became "bad" simultaneously with the release of 1.23, but I suppose it's possible.

From our standpoint, it's not a widespread issue. It seems to affect a relatively small subset of players, but large enough to be notable, and we started to see reports of this beginning with the release of 1.23.

We are experiencing this problem too, so after server reboot. We started noticing it after the update on 1.23 and we did not make any changes. Only update to 1.23
