I had a quick look through these posts, but I do not have spare 2 years to read them all.
I have not played this game for nearly a year now, things seemed to work OK before.
My problem is that I can't navigate the menus any more.
I'm using the same joystick/mouse as before.
I thought it was the mouse not working properly, as the highlight is way off from my pointer. Tried a different mouse with same results. But the keys are very erratic as well. Just tapping them often has no effect, and If I keep a key held down the highlight shoots through so fast I can't get it to stop where I want it to.
And I can't get the key bindings up for anything more than helicopter stuff. So infantry bindings are not showing up.
I was playing "SOG" in helicopters before. Not a very good chopper pilot, but that was down to me. But now I can't even get to the key menu to find out what buttons start the chopper up.
I have Windows 11 installed now, I can't remember if I was playing on 10 or 11 before I had this problem (I think it was OK on 11). And I can't make much sense out of the support option.
I use head tracking which is still OK.
Although I have over 200 hours logged on this game, 160 of them are menus/setup time.
I've reinstalled the game and validated it numerous times this week. Tried it with and without MODs, all the same.
As it is this game is unplayable.
Any suggestions for a not very computer savvy dumb ass ??.

Old Man is not a campaign. It's a scenario.
Would be open to creating the arsenal icon for this. Really want to see it added.

This is a launcher crash. Even if it crashes mid-game it shouldn't affect the game.

So what I believe the issue with AI has to do with effective commander of vehicle. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/effectiveCommander when combat mode "danger" is triggered. If the effective commander of vehicle is driver it leads to spamming of mount/dismount command. If effective commander is gunner then command of movement is spammed. If commander is effective commander then command of target is spammed. If group leader is an infantry unit then they won't mount the vehicle for waypoints.

This should be sufficient for testing. On VR map placed a building to put the player inside of, then an opfor HMG gunner ~200m away, ensure player and AI have no line of sight to each other.
It is a known problem with old CPUs, such as Core2 Duo. The issue has been fixed in performance branches. Unfortunately the fix has not made it to the stable branch yet.
So for now, switch to the performance branch, as I explained in my previous comment.

its almost 2025 and still this is a problem, even if you load up the cheat mod and delete everything from zeus, it still fails the collateral damage task, impossible to do and very dissapointing
Ah OK. Remarks remain the same, just in case a dev can do something useful here.
sideEnemy is not a "basic" side (we can't create center or join a group with that) but it's weird a player as renegade stays in his original group.

What is your CPU model? The error is due to an unsupported instruction by your CPU.
Try running the performance/profiling branch of the game.

It seems to be linked with wheel damage somehow, maybe it's intentional...happens on M54 too.

i tried recreating the problem by just fuzzing the modparams using a snippet of the code from the ace_common_fnc_getAddon function to fire off all the cfgweapons, cfgvehicles, cfgmagazines, and such and could not cause the same to crash with those modparams but i did notice that the uinamespace getvariable "ace_arsenal_addlistboxitemcache" is a hashmap that is using the getordefaultcall command to add items and i was wondering if there is a memory limit?
Apparently, vehicle weapons are have same problem
- download & launch repro mission on dedicated server
- left AI-crew tank firing at right tank
- no any particles on firing main caliber, only flash(zasleh) animation (3d model)
- note - look carefully at 30mm gun on top of tank, its gun particles seems work random (every 3rd shot I'd say)

This happens when joining a server, and the mission download fails.
So you are joining into a mission, while you don't even have the mission file.
This was already fixed, the server must've been running the pre-hotfix A3 version.
That error is directly forwarded from Steam.
Why steam says it, I don't know either.
So basically, it tells the HC to turn it on locally, and print into its own console.
This is a problem in case you want to script something that relies on CfgGroups, you will need to make exceptions for factions which have it set up differently.
