Renegade stays in his group

Description

I'm pretty sure renegade (player with rating < 0) was "kicked off" his group ('and then belonged to grpnull), bfore this version.
Now, this player stays in his group (and can have the leader (new actual) icon displayed).
And , by the way, as every unit of a group knowsabout at max (4) other the units of this group, the knowsabout at renegade remains at 4 till the death!

Renegade should not belong to any group.

Steps To Reproduce

Arma vanilla
place a group with the player in any slot,
place other units as you want,
start preview
player allowdamage false in debug console,
start friend kills
player become renegade when his rating <0,
player loose the lead if he was leader but have the new leader icon displayed

display group player and knowsabout at player in debug console.

Unfortunately we were not able to reproduce this bug. Would it be possible that you send us a repro mission for this issue or perhaps a video of this happening?

Repro steps provided work for me, although I'm not sure if renegade units have ever been kicked out of their group.

I don't understand the difficulty you have to reproduce: Edit a group, become a renegade (kill fellows or addrating -10000) check the group you're belonging to (and how the group leader knowsabout you).

The weird side is the consequences of that:

  • you're in enemyside (enemy to all units) but in your group,
  • Your group knowsabout you at max (4), every time, everywhere!,
  • you know where the leader is, because you're keeping icons (not shown on video. I forgot to enable the game setting for icons).

A [player] join grpnull, or something like that, seems to me a good idea.

Not sure Razazel will answer. All you mentioned above came from my own remarks. Sorry if you feel disappointed, but no dev did anything for that since... 2016.

There is a long list for weird behaviors on Arma3.

Ah OK. Remarks remain the same, just in case a dev can do something useful here.
sideEnemy is not a "basic" side (we can't create center or join a group with that) but it's weird a player as renegade stays in his original group.

or even all weird harebrained orders reeled off by auto-proclaimed AI leader, while a player is unconscious.
