+1, I don't think we'll see any gun handling changes this year probably because they have their internal roadmap already laid out, but it sure would be nice to go back to the "hardcore" nature that the game used to have.

I have experienced this too, it's a really rare bug that only happened few times to me. Not exactly sure what causes it.

I agree there should be more ways to (temporarily) fix some items. Fixing a hole in the radiator with epoxy or duct tape for a short while would be nice.

i can confirm it takes like 10 seconds to pour out a jerry can on the ground
but it takes much much much longer to pour it out in the barrel, seems unintentional. hopefully it can be fixed

Mixing tracers into stacks of ammo would be cool. 10 normal + 10 tracer = every second shot is a tracer, 15 normal + 5 tracers = every 4th shot is tracer
Also ability to sort out tracers and normal bullets from a stack would be nice if this gets implemented.

@noigel this is an old thread, but I recommend looking up "loudness equalization" setting in windows/audio drivers or something like that.

All 3 of my friends that play DayZ also get occasional lag spike which just kicks them immediately.
Ain't no fun when they have to sit in the queue just in hopes not to get kicked again.

I've talked to some guy on twitch stream with 6900XT (? not sure which one exactly, but it was 6000 series).
Asked him if everything runs fine for him, he said yeah.

Weight did used to get affected by wetness, but it was removed for some reason.
I think it had to do with server performance or something.

Here's another suggestion of mine...
They should just make it show direction of the hit location compared to the center of your body, and not the place of the player/AI that caused the damage.

Less HUD use = more immersive game is.
You dont need to know what kind of damage you are getting or what is shooting at you. You just need to be aware of the situation and deal with it.
People who like this is because they cannot figure out with noise and visuals.

I feel like a system where we can layer clothes would be ideal, but the inner layers should only be used for: adding weight, adding insulation and water resistance... not giving more slots.
I want to be able to wear raincoat with a sweater under it...

PU scope is correct tho, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PU_scope 0-1300 meters.
Not sure about hunting scope, but I'm guessing it's also correct.

That mod just shows how overly simplified DayZ gun handling really is... ignoring the huge recoil, but that mod has much more organic feeling gun handling.

Yeah... wolves are buggy. They got on the SECOND floor of Tisy mil base HQ somehow... and all of them managed to phase through walls. But this was in 1.11/12, I forgot to make a ticket about it.

My mag also dropped on 1.13, my character did the whole animation and I started running. Took a look to my bottom left, and it only said I had a bullet in the chamber, no mag... good thing you reminded me, because I forgot to report it

Did you by any chance fire multiple shots? Zeds will still hear your silenced shots if you fire several shots in a quick succession.

At 13:50 in the video, that lack of gun raise is better than what we have now. I think the right way would be to make it that if you move closer to the wall (same distance and current limit), your character moves the gun back a bit, but you go too close and THEN it should raise your gun.

He probably had unstable clocks if resetting BIOS settings helped (or he changed something by accident).
Thank you for posting this issue again, hope this gets sorted out soon.
This limits gun variety by making them all fire at same RPMs and negatively affects balance (guns firing slower than expected).
It's working as intended from what I know.
It's "cooking" the grenades, games usually implement this by starting the timer as soon as the player hits "grenade throw button".
In DayZ you have to drop an unpinned grenade on the ground and then pick it back up.

It doesn't LOOK too bad, but it hurts gameplay. Looks even more wonky with ironsights because they get actually misaligned like the uneven black area of the PU scope.

Don't make up such fantasy values when the old system did what it was supposed to.
Kambiwobo is longer than 250 meters. So you could literally spawn near Kambi and not hear somebody get killed.
I just hope that this is an early placeholder (why even decide on such a low value), and it will get changed very very soon.
Nah, you guys missed the point. Big guns = louder, smaller guns = quieter (but not extreme), Bigger guns = even louder.
Seems logical enough to me, but maybe not as extreme as 1.12.

Blocks should be effective (no more power attacks from zeds going through blocks) and give you time to strike a hit after a successful block (rewards some skill, instead of mashing M1, and makes blocking worthwhile since it actually works now)
Remove bleeding from zeds (if a player fist can't make players bleed, then neither should zeds. Also, it's annoying).
Normal attacks from anything shouldn't cancel zed attacks (you either attack or block, not both), only power attacks should stagger them.
And melee weapon damage balance was too extreme, axes going from 1 hits to 4 was too much of a jump (killing a single zed takes way too long now).

Agreed, I would maybe even make it so that gunshots have even more range than it used to, by like 20-30% more in an effort to make shooting more risky so players would hear others easier.

I still don't get why after all this time DayZ doesn't have audio settings that let us select which audio source it should use. I assume adding/implementing this would solve a few issues that people have sometimes.
