Hello JerryK.
This has been resolved internally - it will no longer be possible to repair ammunition with repair kit as it was never an intention for it to work that way. The damaged ammunition will not jam the weapon.

Geez

Hello @Geez I know this was listed as resolved, I was just curious as to what purpose there are damage states for ammunition if it does not affect its functionality in any way? I would suggest simply having damaged ammo bring a risk of a cartridge malfunctioning - leading to a "click" and forcing the player to cycle the action (tap R) to clear the dud and continue firing. This would would be less punishing than actual jams but give the damage states some purpose and add an interesting element to gunplay.

The presence of damaged bullets is a side effect of applying the global damage on magazines and the piles. Bullet damage state is right now only relevant while having them in your inventory and getting hit (damaged piles will take less damage to be ruined). We will revisit how bullet state could affect the firearm at a later time (very likely through a less punishing mechanics compared to what jamming is right now).

@Geez Ammo can be "repaired" by combining smaller damaged ammo piles with larger better condition ammo piles. If the intention of dmg ammo is so that it might receive dmg in your inventory and go ruined (good idea btw) make it so that piles of different condition ammo cannot be combined.

We are aware of this. However, this is how the system works at the moment as it is globally setup for combining all items like this.
