I also saw this happen on SepticFalcons stream with a watchtower - it moved about a foot higher than initially placed so it was floating off the ground after it was left and returned to.

I am getting a major version of this playing on the AU experimental server. My ping is 50-90ms. Symptoms are total loss of control of my character - it spins and flicks in all directions for an extended period 30 seconds +) and also moves in random directions. At times I quickly reverse to a place I'd been in minutes before. I have experienced this 3 times today after playing for 60 minutes.

I have only noticed it applying to a few items, vehicle tires, being one but also a head torch. I saw those items in the same position in the same buildings when I logged in over 3 separate days - so it seemed like they were persisting for 72 hours last time I checked.
I also found a hunting backpack since this post but still have not seen assault vests in any iteration of 0.59
Try pressing Q all the way till in reverse, then press E twice to get it in first, then accelerate. It must be in first to take off and it's very hard to tell what gear you're in.
Yup they work just the fuel gauge isn't working.
You will be able to find their names by looking in logs for who killed WCGW? Mr Frisky and Tim and were killed by WCGW? Adz right after.
I am able to put magnums and CR75s into my chest holster

I alos observed this at the Myshkino tents.
This is a new version of an existing problem, previously the carried item might have appeared in the inventory or reverted to where it spawned. In (experimental) 0.53.126370 it now just disappears.

Yep also works for me. There needs to be a timer on loot respawning so that people can't do this so easily.
In my experience this seems to be happening when the server version of your character is lagging behind where your client thinks you are.
Examples: Run through a door closing it quickly behind you and the zombies left behind in the room/outside will hit you as if you didn't get through the door before it closed.
Run up stairs and they will hit you as if you are still downstairs.
Be in a corner of a room behind furniture, run out as the zombies run in blocking the only escape and they will stand there hitting the air where you were and drawing blood. You take damage from every swing while watching them from across the room.
This has happened to me regularly in 0.47 but unlike in the previous build once my melee weapons 'jam' I also can't fire guns.
Also applies to bodies - can no longer drag items from the body to the ground directly.
Hi, cheers but I was able to eventually get out by repeatedly getting my axe out and putting it away by holding a direction key. Just reporting what seems to be a geometry problem in that place.
Of course it isn't, why would it be?
More importantly I reported this because it may point to some underlying flaw.
I attached the dxdiag and the link to the zipped crash dump files to the original report - what else is needed?
I was able to resolve this issue by downclocking my video cards core and memory frequency slightly in MSI Afterburner. Not sure if it was a hardware issue specific to my card or why it happened much more frequently in 44.12333800 than in 43.116251 but all good now :)
