I found this in your rpt - addons\soft_f_beta.pbo. It seems that this signature crashes your game.
you have common crashing issue called 0xC0000005 - ACCESS_VIOLATION. Try to resolve it by following adivces on this webpage and let me know if your issue persist.

- Restart your computer and launch Steam

- Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
- Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
I´m glad to hear it.
Launcher doesn´t generate crash by itself. Crash report is pulled out from your root Arma 3 folder. Try to check your root.
Thnak you,
I have run the commands several times as suggested by the link you sent me and then restarted my computer. It seemed to work, saying that it found and repaired systems and such. I then tried running Arma 3 and it didn't work. I then tried re-downloading Microsoft .NET Framework and using the repair tool, but to no effect.

Perhaps this is due to no AI pathing existing on the roof, so they wander?
adding my DxDiag, maybe it helps somehow

strange thing in report, : dedicated video memory : 4246536192, thats 4gb if i'm not brainfucked right now, but shouldn't this be 8gb? like nvidia system panel and even windows is telling me?
That means that your Windows version has this .NET Framework already implemented as part of the system. So you have to run the check on the system itself:
adding one more crash:
btw what i forgot to say, in first crash, i used x64 tbb malloc, in second i used "system" as malloc
Uninstalling and installing it again has not worked. The file doesn't even appear in the Microsoft Control Panel - Uninstall Programs. I've also tried repairing it which doesn't work.
In the recreation it's supposed to say "get an ams", autocorrect got me.
Ok this is from the launcher:
You can try to uninstall it and install it again (I'd suggest to restart the computer in between) or try to use this tool Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135
no sry i have deleted the Crashdump. Sry :(
Exactly. Launcher didn't generate any dumps. Is there anything I can do?
I've tried that before and it always says that I have it already installed on this computer (version 4.6.2 or later). Should I just try to uninstall it?
Here's my crash report, hope that helps.
Initial state: Arma 3 is opted into legacyports branch.
Actions taken:
- Shut down Steam
- Clear Steam's depotcache directory. (I was suggested to do so for more purity of experiment, shouldn't hurt anyway)
- Start Steam
- Opt out from legacyports branch back to main branch.
- Download required files by Steam.
- Run Arma 3 => CTD with same error "Bad version 72 ..."
Updated repro steps and description for clarity
Issue still present in current perf binaries! But I found that the above specifically happens with interface-size set to "small"! With interface-size "normal" it breaks on the 4th option slot.....
are you able to mediate some crash dumps to us via Launcher troubleshooting tool?
are you able to mediate some crash report to us, plz?
can you send us troubleshooting report, please? (.rpt, .mdump, .bidump)
arma3server_2016-12-04_03-48-31.mdmp - Server.mdmp
DELETED :(
I know that you´ve written the game have crashed without mod before but can you try to dislocate all your mods to other folder and return them back one by one and each time launch the game?
It helped to someone before you so try to check it.
Oh, sry I didn´t notice them.
This should help.
A few posts ago I've attached all the .zip files. They were all generated from the launcher troubleshooting tool. But no problem. Here they are again:
Note: If BI's fix for this will be to simply use the legacy Tanoa map files, please be aware most mods are now also binarized as version 72 and will also not be able to be opened by the Linux binary...as well as presumably the Jets DLC.
your report file says: 17:42:54 DX11 - DXGI adapter 0 detected in config does not match current adapter with this ID.
1.66 isn't available for Linux. This bug is in the Linux/Mac port.
try to update your Arma 3 from 1.64 to actual 1.66. It might be useful.
In any case I´ve reported your issue to programmers.
You can sent us game report .rpt If you could. We have just your dumps.
Nothing
Your issue might be caused by rendering of some structures as your report said us. It´s possible that you said it´s happend during zooming.
Try this advices and we will see if they was useful to you. In any case, I´ll report your issue by our programmers.
a) try to set -maxmem= and -maxvram= parametr in your Launcher on some high vaule.
b) try to use other memory allocator
c) try to renistall your DirectX
d) If nothnig of that won´t help you, try to reinstall Arama 3
would adding -crashDiag as a param possibly help?
The issue that you have may be caused by discrepancie in some mod used in game.
a) Try to use some useful sloutions mentioned on this webpage.
b) Try to move all your missions to another folder (don´t delete) (Documents>Arma3 - Other profiles).
c) Try to return dislocated missions back to Other profiles folder, one by one.
d) Try to launch game always when you return just one mission back.
e) If it does not work try to change your profile to another one.
try to use some crash solutions from this web page. In any case, I will report your problem by our programmers.
If you will be able to reproduce us more crash information, please do it.
Found the issue! Beware if you have assigned axis from multiple joysticks to one control e.g. Cyclic Forward. It does not matter even if you disable the controller in the "Controllers" menu when not using them. It is somehow still active and limits the movement of the active joystick. So it seems like a bug after all.
yes already have done a verify.
doing: normally just out killing or dying. hardcrash just comes out of nowhere. no warning no nothing
intel malloc is not an option destroys FPS on this system also has even worse stability. game was stable up to 1.66 using 'system' malloc
Hi again,
Hello SirBoston,
you're missing the core .NET Framework library which is required to run Arma 3 Launcher. Please try to re-install the latest .NET Framework to fix the issue: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=780601
I´m glad to hear that.
@Sycholic, have you tried verifying the integrity of the game cache?
First thing to do would be to verify the integrity of the game cache. This checks for any faults in the core game files and fixes them if any discrepancy is found.
you can close this issue. I've removed all the culprit missions like you said and now it's ok. Thank you for your assistance.
If I'm not mistaken, it seems like the game never got to generate those dump files. I always had to forcibly close the game using the task manager (when it took too long to respond/work). After doing so, Arma 3 crash window appeared. Because of that reason I don't think it ever got to create dumps.
I could be wrong, but it seems like default settings are somehow interfering with the crashes I used to face, in a good way. However, my game performance and 'memory leaks' seem to have increased.
I have tried verifying the game cache, I've uninstalled all anti virus programs, redownloaded, deleted all system files and redownloaded, restarted computer...
Workaround: go to Steam and opt Arma 3 into legacyports branch using Arma3LegacyPorts as password. This will redownload Apex expansion in suitable format.
