- Joined, which resulted in screen going black for a moment or two and a sudden crash which gave a pop-up window indicating an error
Have also tried this by simply hitting play button (that plays game w/o mods.)
A3 Launcher has exact same results, except a crash report doesn't come up. It just crashes as if I had closed a window.
Problems started a few months back when I played Single Player and was on the maybe 2nd or 3rd mission. Had to go to officer to receive briefing, but once objective was completed, nothing happened. No new objective or anything. I closed out after having restarted mission multiple times. The next day I got on, I received the error indicated above. I have followed the link leading to the Wiki to troubleshoot problem, but nothing has worked. I reinstalled Arma 3 too many times to count, verified game cache multiple times, ran systems diagnostic, updated drivers, rolled back drivers, updated DirectX and even installed DirectX 12, updated C++, etc. Literally everything that was suggested for my error was attempted and I still am plagued by the same results.
Provided is the crash log and Dxdiag.

There are no crash dumps in that report file. If you go to %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Arma 3 are there any arma3.bidmp and arma3.mdmp files? If there are then could you archive (zip) and upload all three arma3.rpt, arma3.bidmp, and arma3.mdmp files with the same time stamp for the developers to review?
All the methods on the wiki you hyperlinked I have already attempted, but to no avail. Maybe I did something wrong, though I'm not sure. As for the files, I just have a bunch of .RTP files. No .bidmp or mdmp in my Arma 3 folder. Only other folders there are the MonetizedServersCache and OfficialServersCache, both with a list.json file. Here are the .RTPs I zipped.
@Azrael_Del_Tahar, would you be able to try using the profiling branch of Arma 3?
profiling branch (special performance + profiling build - requires access code: CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3), alternative download of needed binary possible from Dwarden's dropbox
If you have the bandwidth you could also try the development branch.
If you are still experiencing the issue on either of these branches then please prepare and upload another troubleshooting report file.
Do I need to launch in some specific manner? Tried launching through Steam on the development and performance betas, as well as the standard, and by using the new binary I downloaded and none seem to work.
No, you should not need to. When you start Arma 3 and the launcher opens check under ⚙ OPTIONS that the detected game branch is the branch you choose. (e.g. dev or development for the development branch)
To update Arma 3 to the profiling branch via the Steam client:
- Right-click on Arma 3 in Steam.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Betas tab.
- Enter CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3 in the box and click Check Code.
- The profiling branch should then become available in the above drop down box. Select it.
- Steam should automatically update Arma 3 to that branch.
- When the update is complete the game will be on the profiling branch and ready to play. It is a good practice to verify the integrity of the game cache after any update.
To update to the development branch follow the same steps except you will not need to enter a code.
Doesn't look like any of them work, even with the new binary. I'll do as you asked and submit a new ticket some time tomorrow.
It looks like it's working now! Either it was the 1.0.2 changelog that fixed it, or it was my friends instructing me to turn off Intel Speed Step. Either way, thank you for the professional help!
