Not voting on this, but I do feel that there is little to no difference to a light rifleman and a heavy packed rifleman, fatigue seems to be the same for all units. A light rifleman starts to moan and stuff after 50 meters and runs out of breath after 100 meters, thats some pretty bad condition for a soldier only carrying a rifle and a few magazines. + that the moaning and breathing sounds gets on my nerves as you hear them way to much. It's like being in a bad porn movie.

This is a duplicate ticket. Voting it up anyway.
There needs to be a waypoint order "move at all cost".
Well I am assuming that the Devs did not create Altis with the 2D editor (by the looks of it), but with a 3D editor. They just don't want it to be a public editor?
Well besides new shinnies like lighting and shadows and new animations I hope there will be more structural improvements. And a 3D editor would be one of them. The whole game runs and sells on community made content, logic dictates that a 3D editor should be on top of the new feature list. They owe that to the community to be honest to make these kind of improvements.
A2 had an AI 'pistol bug'. One or more units on occasion takes out the pistol, but it is registered as the unit has the primary active, then it gets stuck at that position and unable to move anymore. Seems that something similar (or the same thing) is happening in the alpha too. In A2 when I made missions I usually did not gave the AI side arms to bypass this bug, hope this will not be needed in A3.
it was a response to Digital-Soldier and DNK, forgot to mention that.
Are you guys all talking about firing while standing? Cos when you are prone or sitting the recoil is not to bad.
Scroll wheel is for switching stances (if it were up to me).
The problem on public servers will be that the grass distance often will be preset to a static distance (to provide the same atmosphere to all players), a distance some may be able to handle, but will cause performance drops for others.
Grass is laggy so no thanks, unless they can render it without dropping the fps.
Is not the perceived size of the sun related to location on earth you are looking at it. Never seen a pic of a huge African sun? The closer you get to the equator the bigger the sun looks.
Ohh yes I agree, an extraction needs also be possible when under fire. It really needs tweaking, but as the video's shows it is not completely broken.
It is working in my mission, but it takes time before it lands. Look at the last 10 or 5 minutes of this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id-CNn2jzuM
It shows that a chopper moves in to extract the players, when the chopper is close it moves away because of enemy AI in the area. When the enemy AI has been killed it eventually goes back to his waypoint order and finally lands where it was supposed to. It did take 5 minutes before it finally landed. By that time an alternate ending activated that I made in case the landing gets bugged out.
I had no problems when giving the chopper a 'get out' waypoint.
In ArmA 2 it was even worse, it has improved in the alpha a little bit. but it should not lag like that and Agia marina is only a small town. Luckily I like flying jets a lot so when the big map will be available and some jets then I will be in the air half of the time :)
I can confirm this too, you can walk over 3 AP mines and still be alive.
They should add a Desert Eagle or something similar to the game (hand cannon). I always hated the Marakov and the 911 in arma2, it's just like you are shooting a bee bee gun with plastic bullets.
We only need female civilians. That can not be undressed....
I am fine with it as long as they are fat and ugly. But I am guessing everyone want barbies to play with :)
What the ** is up with the tags spam that are not relevant to this ticket....
Takes quite some time before you drown (fatigue has no effect on how long you can stay under water), but eventually you will drown.
I did not have issues picking up packs today.
Yep same for me. I am creating a mission and after last update I can not pick up backpacks anymore.
I can only say that I rarely (not often anyway) have AI team units opening fire unless I order them to (but yes it happens sometimes). That probably also has something to do with how I position the AI units, I try to make sure they stay out of direct danger unless I want them to. Do you also use the order 'no target' by the way?
Simply order your AI team to hold fire. It is really all about being a good team leader and controlling the AI properly, ArmA does not use so many key's for nothing. I hope BIS will releas a tutorial video showing how to command an AI team properly, because a lot of new players don't have a clue.
And if an AI unit does not 'hold fire' when ordered then the AI 'thinks' that he is in immediate danger and will open fire to protect himself (thats the idea anyway).
Custom loadouts with all the new attachments are annoying to manually customize, more then it already was. It is a long time needed feature. Also add an option to fill up custom ammo/weapon boxes and vehicle loadouts.
I would like to see ACE option to adjust the brightness on the go.
Loved the blinding sun, specially flying in a jet in the middle of a dogfight.
Flipping over vehicles was a pretty pain in the butt in ArmA 2, the tiniest rock already could flip over a tank + a triple salto, so please let them work on it and improve that part.
The sad thing is that this is the performance on an empty altis map, not even tried multi player yet. Even if the GT620 is not a 'gaming'card, it still should be hell of a lot better then the antique 9300GE (also not for gaming) I used on the old dualcore.
It is not a notebook, but a desktop. It is 2gb graphic card. I even played the alpha with a Geforce 9300GE (256Mb) on my old dual core and still had fps in the mid tens on low settings. I should get more then just a few extra fps on my new desktop brand new out of the box.
Ok, I have played arma 3 on an old 2Ghz dualcore with just a 512Mb Gcard and on low settings I could 20 fps on Stratis, Altis 15 fps (empty map).
Now I have new PC that is 10 times better then the 7 year old dualcore and I get 16 fps on Alts on an empty map and with only medium settings and low view distance. How the hell is that possible?
Acer Aspire MC805

I only like to see grenade cooking. Not being able to precisely aim the grenade as in A2 I like. Throwing a grenade precisely was way to easy in ArmA 2, now you need to do it on feeling and you get better at it with practice. If you do not like how it is now then practice the throwing more.
I would like to see the ArmA 2 recoil when crouched. For standing the recoil can be insane as it is now I don't care, but you can't even shoot properly when you are crouched and low crouched. The mandatory sit or prone stance to fire a few rounds on a target is getting a bit annoying as you can not use those stances in every situation. You simply can't shoot properly from out a window (for example) without looking at the sky after shooting 1 round through your scope, bit impossible to shoot out of a window in mandatory prone position right.
Now I have never fired a real weapon, but there is plenty of footage on youtube available showing military units firing accurately in normal crouch position, even on target bursts, thats not the case in the alpha.
In TVT/TDM is is not a problem as everyone has the same recoil handicap, but against AI it sucks now.
I would actually like to see the 'fall back' feature, especially when playing with lower fps it takes over a second to get the crosshair on target again even in low crouched position, only prone is doable atm.
Its called realism, for less recoil get your ass on the ground and shoot. You simply can't shoot an entire magazine and expect that all bullets will land where you are aiming at. Use single shots if you are in a higher stance, go crouch for bursts, go prone for full auto.
I drove on the main (red) road of Altis in a civil offroad and in a straight line going 20-30KM I constantly had that screeching sound, I was not even giving gas. I think you guys should delete that sound completely to be honest cos it is sounding more at unrealistic moments then the other way around. (constructively meant)
@Twink
Yea, but I played the alpha for 126 hours till today without issues what so ever, this is the first time I am getting crashes. So far it only happens when I am in MP LAN.
I am getting this error to as of today (stable build) havent had this problem at all yet (126 hours of playing alpha). I have not updated the Nvidia drivers since the start of the alpha either. It just started to happen as of today.
Same for any unit you order to use a first aid kit.
I don't like to see more huds on my screen, if it can be embedded into the existing hud then im all for it.
They pretty much consistently walk through the old open shacks with the corrugated sheet metal. Also have seen them walk through H-barriers.
Example in a video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWsZGm5RmrU&list=LLzweMZTYh1Yk0ul5qIzHWlQ
starts at 1:40 without AI inside, couple secs later the AI is inside the building because it walked through the wall.
This is related btw: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=5135
They also can stick their head and torso through floors when prone.
It would already help if the grey block (building) actually corresponds with the actual in-game position, they still have an offset to in-game.
Yeah I assume there will be whisper voices added later on.
