This bug is still present in 1.04

This is (after some investigation) the same experience I am getting in T141706. Have discovered the only way to fix this is to disabled hardwward anti-aliasing. This makes the graphics very poor quality and hoping there is a fix on its way soon.

So a little extra information today - managed to get onto the server during daytime and same problem. Pitch black. Also black screen when I enter the game at the beginning (where you see your character and get the option to play).

From my point of view, I can nothing but agree with the thread owner. For me the current login process is also very annoying. Let me explain why.

First of all, I'd like to say a big thank you for the new additions in DayZ's current updated. It's so great to see how the game has developed over the last few years. I've been playing DayZ for about three years now and it's one of the games that brought me back to gaming and started my passion to play online with my friends. There are so many different ways how to play DayZ. Be it PvP or PvE, there's room for everything. The experiences it provides are unique. Hiding from other players, talking to someone you accidentally meet and enjoying just being "nice" or getting caught in a gunfight and barely making it; these things make my heart leap. I think many of you know this feeling as well. Your hand trembles and your heart beats like a drum while you recover from what has just happened.
I've played various other first person shooters and I've never had such intense feelings with any other game out there. That's what brings me always back to DayZ even when certain changes were unpleasant for me. In the end it's up to the developers to decide what they do and I'm sure they have spent a lot of thought on this decision.

Interesting yeah. <br /> with space aka strict xhtml notation works. However, it would still be interesting to know which tags are officially supported instead of guessing and trial and error :)

I have the same problem! I've tried with verifying data and so on. Won't help.
Tried to relaunch the game 3-4 times now with the same result. Main menu is like an overlay in game, and I can't use/click in the inventory.

Yeah, you can put an empty pot on a tripod.

when i join a server on offical or community the game begins to run but i have the menus overlaying the screen and cannot access the inventory

I can verify this happening in several locations, floats losing their accuracy.

I also get this message after i has finished one game and will start few seconds later the same server again.
