Just heard a work around in the forums... where this can be avoided if these kits are held in the hands first, and then used to repair the items. If sewing kits are chosen from the ground or from inventory and used to fix an item in your hands it will disappear.
An extension on this- now sewing kits / duct tape are all disappearing regardless of whether they're in inventory. All of them disappear after a single use whether I pick them up from the ground and put them in my inventory before use, pick them up and use them, or pull them out of my existing inventory from another session and use them.

Sorry guys... I messed this up and it is not a bug. You can remove it. I didn't put the drum in my inventory- a guy in the forum pointed me in the right direction and all is right with the world.
Was able to remedy this problem by re-detecting the mic through Steam. No idea what the connection is / was but that solved the problem.
OH MY GOD I FRICKEN HATE THAT!
(caps on purpose.)
Definite upvote. Don't "auto mount" a fricken stick in place of a fire axe.
Was a kilometer away from a sedan and I could hear it shifting without hearing the engine... I thought it was someone reloading or cocking a weapon at first. Very troubling. Turned out it was my friend driving around in a not so nearby town. I didn't experience the same problem with Offroad.
In addition, sedan sounds like it is idling to passenger at all times- except briefly during gear shifts.
I am seeing this with increasing regularity- Some guys are trapped in ladder climbing pose as they slide around on the ground. Other times guys are crouched or doing whatever it is when the effect takes hold.
This happened to my son while we were playing- getting into a sedan he got the "you are dead" screen. He logged, and came back in fine and with all his gear.
Was just coming in to report this same thing- happens on my windows 8.1 comp as well as 7-64.
Here is a picture:
Continued to see this last night with AK74 and 74-U
I've seen something like this occasionally on the winchester as well. The scope goes all black or something.. like it's aiming somewhere else while.
I had this issue as well intermittently- It doesn't happen all the time... whether I had a pack on or off didn't matter. Anything in my hand... nothing in hand. Windows open / closed- again, no real connection I could see.
Other times it's fine.
I've been having something like this as well but my character crouches and THEN steps over and stays crouched. That's in .57 though so slightly different case I suppose.
I've noticed this happens a lot with rocks as well as the overall environment when you look through binoculars or vision aids. It seems to switch from high definition to low definition graphics... at a very quick rate.
Thanks JT- just upvoted this before seeing the solution. My son and I were both having issues on our computers- mine wasn't for awhile on my desktop but the problem remained on my laptop. Looking forward to seeing if that does it!
The problem would only happen after I got hit by something... typically a zombie.
I have also had this issue... Particularly hitting it while running. I have a gaming keyboard that should be able to register an impossible number of simultaneous keypresses so I don't think that's it.
The video I've seen on it recently pointed out you need at least 2 cans of green (for woodland) and 2 cans of green and 2 cans of black for mossy- I think for the full ghillie suit... not sure if that includes the top and the rap. A lotta paint, either way.
If you'd tried painting with one can green- then one can black and deciding it didn't work... that might be the reason why you tried painting it again with another can and it did work.
Also had this issue- existed in various areas of the map and in all standing, crouching and prone positions. Zoomed in fully and minimally- doesn't matter. Can view side to side (only when free view is off)- but no vertical movement is possible.
In particular- this was the scope that had 2x - 8x zoom functions. The scope I was using was not pristine- I think it was damaged. Not sure what effect this would have if any.
Been happening a lot more for me recently than ever before. Not ALWAYS- but certainly not even infrequently.

This is happening to guns given to other players as well... If I give a weapon to a friend of mine he can't use it until he logs out again- and this is in .57 stable.
