For those on Windows: Just wanted to reiterate that downgrading from Windows 11 24H2 to 23H2 has resolved all stuttering issues for me.

Hello GorgorB.
Since you are running a lot of modded content, can you please confirm that this occurs in vanilla version with no mods as well? We have had reports of this happening in the past and were testing this on our end but we were unable to reproduce the issue.

Geez
Surprised @Sbeve linux didn't fix your hitching. Are you having minor stutters or massive hitches? My issue on windows was all the hitching and CPU maxing out which is a non problem for me on linux. Arma has always had little stutter problems especially on modded servers which I think most people have just accepted, the Massive 5- 10s hitches and crashes from hitches however need to be addressed. What proton were you running on bazzite? Could it be an issue with that version of proton?
The bazzite system I run with a 5800x3d and 9070xt handles it fine with GE_Proton 9-27
Well I finally got around to installing Linux (bazzite) on a SATA SSD to see if that would fix the problem. It doesn't, stuttering still exists on Linux. I guess it's just part of the game? I've seen my friend's game stuttering on an i5-9600k and rtx 3060 as well. I'm excited to play this game if/when the heavy stuttering is fixed.
When it comes to the crashes you've mentioned, the only real way to debug them is by having full access to the game's C++ engine codebase. Even with that access, unless you're highly familiar with the systems and structure of the code, identifying the root cause would still be extremely challenging.

I think I have found a fix. I Have an ASUS B650-E Motherboard, updated the "ArmouryCrate" and used that to update the BIOS as well as downloading ASUS "DriverHub" and that had a new driver for the chipset. Also set the BIOS into "Performance" mode also turned on the "GameMode" in advanced settings.. so far game works well again..

Then it is obvious that if DEVs see this as logical, why the game has so many shortcomings.
I think there is a related problem, and raised a ticket for it. Vehicle doors IRL do not stay open once you start driving forwards. In the game they do, leading to the absurd sight of a Huey flying at top speed with both doors wide open. It looks ridiculous and is completely unrealistic.
Realistically, inertia at slow speed and wind resistance at speeds above 15kph would slam the doors shut.

Hello.
According to the dev team the described behaviour is as designed.

Hello.
This is as designed and will not be changed for Reforger.

Hello again.
This is currently not planned to be fixed in Reforger.

A lot has happened since the original feedback was submitted on 13 June 2025, and unfortunately, the situation has remained consistently bad.

Guys, no offense, but in my opinion, the weapon swings quite realistically (conditionally). On the contrary, I would reduce the swing. Arma is a war simulator and not a shooter. In reality, a trained soldier, the rifle holds quite hard, and at distances of 20-30 meters, the hit is guaranteed regardless of "ADAD". However, at distances of 100-200 meters (the main distances of modern battle), the specified swing provides a realistic scatter of hits when moving (overwhelming fire).
@Geez Lately I have noticed that players often fall through rocky textures. Especially if you perform a bandage while on rocks or on the ruins of destroyed houses. And just the other day, my friend and I fell through the map for the first time when we fell out of a damaged vehicle.
Any update regarding this issue?

This has happened to me before, but I didn't know how to describe it. I was driving alone on a road. Someone overtook me behind me. Then it froze, and I was in a tree 40 meters away.
I was ‘driving’ on the side the whole time. I was able to use the machine gun. The ‘bug’ was recognisable to the other players.
You're always welcome to create mods to get/change these types of features. Reforger generally seems to be firm on the realism and historical authenticity front, so I doubt tracer burn time will be changed to make it easier to snipe at 2 KM.
seems like a very simple fix would be to vastly increase weapon sway whilst strafing, although doesn't address the root of the issue nor branching ones
It can happen even on dirt roads at speeds as low as 40 km/h, as well.

I cannot agree enough. I understand that auto-exposure is essentially required for a HDR Pipeline, but the settings need to be heavily tuned. The tech can *significantly* impact the visuals and make it look poorer than it should. I think some time sorely needs to be spent experimenting with how the average scene luminance is captured (certain objects or the sky have too much influence), clamping, and exposure compensation depending on the player environment so the image looks right?
Having this same issue on my community server. Major stutter issues. Below are the specs.

Simply copying reality will only make the game less fun. We need reasonable improvements to make the game better.
Also noting I have 24H2 version of windows 11. Really need a fix here. Not sure how more people don't report this issue because this processor is probably one of the most prevalent in gaming... Maybe they were smart enough to not use windows 11, ugh i hate it so much. Honestly about to find a copy of windows 10 so i can game in peace.
