This should really be fixed at some point
May 10 2016
Looks like a memory overflow, maybe a temporary fix could be to limit altitude in setPos command (that madbull spotted as a source of the bug)
Added a .RAR with requested file (mdmp not found in AppData): http://www.filedropper.com/arma3_1
We expect function will limit itself to a maximum altitude if there is a risk to make program crash, this is of course a test, a "bug hunting", and will never be used in a real script (I hope), however is better to fix it.
I provided all infos required and in my hands, now it's your work to fix it (and decide how) ;)
Well, i provide 64 bit one: http://pastebin.com/V2SibYVx
Updated with RPT and corrected command
Well i forgot 2 "0", the command is:
[player,200000000000] call BIS_fnc_setHeight;
32 or 64 bit version?
mp5gosu because only army can buy it?
Whould be great
Added about the problem
Excluding MPMissionCache, it's around 13MB of files, which exactly files do you need?
No, the concept is more wide than that: buildings, objects in general will support that feature
Agree with twistking and voted up
It's a normal error script, it's enabled by default since ArmA 3 alpha and i wish it follow to be, so i voted down.
MergeConfig load the configuration only for current session, new join in another server restore default configs.
APEX could start only when a building is damaged, so it's not heavy to resources unless the building is destroyed, and if you cannot see the building your PC doesn't calculate APEX effect.
@kju, i know, but this is more powerfull and dynamic (and, probably, easier to debug and work with) than the onl mergeConfig
Oh thank you cancerouspete, i had not got what "rewieved" meaned..
Status "rewieved" but it's not..
Add a simple safety is not a big waste of time and can bring good benefits.
BIS trips, to make scripters anger
May 9 2016
it would be cool if it is like VBS (Virtual Battle Space)
@anderson: In my country, is illegal to hold a weapon, and I don't have the motivation to ask a permission for that
Exactly guys, but there are people that think something like "i watch mythbuster i know everything" that downvoted the feedback, i hope BIS is more smart than them
Video of a bullet (dunno what): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRqYJvtZVJY
New NATO cave bullets: http://www.defensereview.com/revolutionary-dsg-supercavitating-rifle-ammo-for-shooting-underwater-into-the-water-or-out-of-the-water-multi-environment-ammunition-mea-makes-its-debut-photos-and-video/
Which have 10M travel in wather
ViiK NATO 5.56 bullets is designed also around this issue, a wave cannot stop the bullet, it will result lower but will forward.
Wave is 30-40cm width not 40 meters! is impossible to stop a FMJ gunfire!
Rick let's google this: "NATO 5.56 bullets", you will see on wikipedia that they are FMJ.
NATO 5.56 rounds can go throw wather for 30/40 meters without change direction.. it's projected for that..
Ezekiel i'm not insinuating that you certainly dead, i say that is danger to go deep l.
And i was speaking about normal soldier / civilian, not an apnea word record man..
Is not a scriptable problem, is an engine problem cobra.
Ezcoo i'm a certified diver and i'll assure you that who i've wrote is true according to my knowledge of "search&rescure" specialization of PADI Card who meet the ISO standards.
Also i'm studing medicine and i assure you that a decompression and a collapse of a stomach is fatal for a lot of cause, one of them is that pressure will break your ribs and tears the walls of the stomach for example.
And a diver CANNOT balance the pressure if they haven't a pressurized air source where to take it.
You can go 50 and more meters deep without any stuff, the max level for a fully-equipped diver (not military or worker) is 45 or 65 meters depending on the level of the certification, and at 65m you can stay near 3/4 minutes before you need a controlled emersion with decompressions levels, according to nitrogen and other air component in your body, except if you wish an embolism and/or a stroke, hoping you will not get in syndrome frostbite and others stuffs like cramps.
Thank you for contribution anyway, even if it is wrong.
Your body can move air pressure using the muscles for only some of that zone, USArmy train a non-diver soldiers to survive in case of a body-combat will have place in wather.
If a person have not enought weights they cannot go deep because stomach air and others air will push him up and if they empty that the wather pressure will compress him and he does not have air for balance the pressure at all.
^-- bad idea developers..
Someone have a little nerves problem, if there is some girls in a real combat enviroment it don't say anything.
There was also egyptian, chinese, korean man who fight in war and there's not any model for them, but anyone care really.
This is just a flag-argument that make programmers work for get a thing that don't make anyone enjoy more where so much more useful work can be do in the same time.
Please look forward your ego, everyone.
And, women with a good size how can see and launch granades (clippet to belt), proning, use small chopper (boobs is also in area of controller operation)? and how do you wish to simulate period? i'll not see something like class Absorber xD
Up to now, female soldiers is not very used for real war.. it's just a "flag" to say "hey there! we're more advanced and we don't discriminate women!" bot in fact they're not really used..
True kid, but if BI don't release a manual, an OFFICIAL manual, for new fuctions of the ArmA 3 engine is a bad issue with editor and so it's good for report that here, or i'm wrong?
And this is NOT a bugtracker but a FEEDBACK tracker sirs.
a low documentation isn't a major bug, it's a MILESTONE bug because people doesn't understand what to do.
