I have found the issue. It is having the same key bind (default W), for character forward movement and vehicle acceleration. When you get out of the vehicle, and do not wait long enough to try and move, the input is still registered as vehicle acceleration.

i was able to crash the game with the modparams command by inserting a really log string as the modclass parameter...i wonder if the modlist i was using had an obfuscated modclass that could have caused a buffer overflow or something in an unusual way?

Wonderful. When will Bohemia actually spend their time on something worth fixing or adding? No one asked for Frostline, Namalsk already does it for free for over 10 years, and it does it better. Hackers still make official and vanilla community servers unplayable. Why spend so long on a base when it can all be unfairly taken from you in a matter of minutes from people who decided to download hacks?

We could possibly check the logs from C:\Users\*username*\Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\logs
However we do recommend trying to focus on making sure everything on your computer is in order as this could be caused by some issue on your OS rather than in the game.
