But your point regarding use of absolute time is valid however its not that simple since we would have to make solution for all platforms and not only Windows so it might be considered in future.
It might be worthwhile to automatically recognize a player's specialization based on their gear.

The introduction of gear restrictions based on rank in version 1.3 will most likely solve this problem to a greater extent.
Most likely in all these cases the supplies are too close to the base and because of this we do not get experience for their delivery
So all I know is it apparently is some form of breakpoint exception but I don't know how to read memory dumps without source code to see why it hit a break point.

All good, it was an extreme edge case and pretty unlikely to ever effect almost any players anyway. Cheers for looking into it though.

I'd like to retract everything above :)
I was made aware that the game code is supposed to adjust the sleep time and there may be an issue with my debugging method. As such I have updated my test hook to positively identify the 16ms sleep call via the calling function address instead of relying on the value of 160000. It also now write statistics to a ring-buffer that another thread then prints out so as to not mess with the timing.
This functionality is required for a lot of custom game modes focused more around dynamic player groups than predefined scenario factions. Mods like WasteLand, Rogue Extract, Everon Life etc could all benefit from the factions system being more dynamic and factions being creatable at runtime via scripts, most of these kind of mods just have some janky work-around solution like repurposing squads/groups as player factions.
Anyone saying there is no need for this is simply thinking too small or only speaking for their own needs.
After the recent issues, are you going to finally make moves to stop this nonsense? PC appears to be unaffected, despite it being an attack on Bohemia, by PC players. Nitrado is the big difference. How is this acceptable?

Issue seems to be fixed in the experimental version.
the whole point of playing experimental is to help report on bugs and errors not to go running round ones computer checking drivers and files all the time.... p.s cheaters using teleports on experimental too now so probably will stop playing official and move to community server. But no matter the newest Mdmp file is almost a month old so that´s not going to shed any light on recent freezes
That´s as far as the upload goes, maybe you should run sfc/Scannow and check your OS as all other pages are working for me and dumping the problem onto the end-user when problems clearly lie with servers or software of the game... Or just admit Bohemia is having problems as that would stop users searching through their files and deleting this or that and resetting this or that...
Well all drivers and software are up to date I am on experimental Livonia sfc does not return any errors in OS

There definitely is a difference between a crash and a freeze. Using the correct term can help us in early investigation of the issue - as with freezes we do not have any access to minidumps. Have you tried to run sfc/Scannow to check your OS for any issues? Also have you tried to clear your documents DayZ folder and verify the game data? (Steam cloud sync should be disabled before doing so). Also does the game work on experimental? (Or stable? Depending from which version are you reporting the issue).

none being generated, and frozen or crash makes no difference as the computer is frozen and has to be restarted

No relation to character type. Found in 1.3.0.32. No mods, official conflict exp server. Unable to reproduce offline or with 1 player only.
