Suggestion: Toggle Player Damage
Feedback, NormalPublic

Description

This is not a bug report, but I was directed here from the Official DayZ Discord to send you my thoughts. I have a suggestion which would enhance the gameplay of thousands of people across all consoles.

My idea is simple, PVP is not everyones cup of tea, and whilst we as server owners do our best to keep our PVE communities safe, I feel theres a simple solution.

We have toggle base damage, we have toggle container damage.

Why not toggle player damage (from other players) - Its something that can be done without client side mods as demonstrated by https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3304780902&searchtext=PVE+serverside - So we wouldnt need to install 3rd party mods on console (although that is something I feel we deffo need on console as well)

The number one issue with PVE right now is the constant battle between those that just wanna troll or kill for fun. When we have worked had to set up our communities as safe spaces, with much more PVE orieted gameplay.

I'm not the only one that feels this way, I'm sure. But the topic is often overlooked as "DayZ is a PVP Game ... just deal with it" ... if thats the case then why is base damage and container damage toggles even a thing? Cause base raiding is part of PVP.

You can achieve this using server-side modification only, without propagating it to the players. If console servers can run server-side mods, it'll be easy to disable player damage. For example you can use this one https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3320383164&searchtext=MuttNoPlayerDamage as serverside mod and it's good to go
