Agreed.
+1, either forbid reloading from the backpack or add a severe time delay time delay.
For the firefox users out there:

Fixed option = "Objects Quality" -> Ultra & "Object View Distance" -> less than 1000m
The proof of concept script from above does what you have suggested.
Simply set "Objects Quality" to "Ultra" and run it.
I'll upload an example video when I have time.
Thanks for the feedback, but did you actually try the script? I did - and it's far from terrible.
Actually watching the arma engine change the LOD of nearby objects (<500m) looks much worse. Besides objects will always pop in at some point unless your object view distance is equal to your overall view distance.
This feature would be optional - for those who demand a better utilization of their hardware (http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=716) and for those who want to see objects when looking at distant areas through scopes.

I don't see a "got-hit-animation?" do you?
Lehmann: "if the first 9mm hit on the soldiers vest throws him backwards/on the ground"
KobeM4: "i think the falling to the ground after one shot in the vest would be very realistic"

Confirmed.
Nope - just put some time into finding reasonable settings that work for every scene.
Some examples:
Shadows - High vs. Ultra

Different AA & PP settings

22 FPS difference between highest and lowest settings of the pictures above and nearly no difference in the resulting image quality ...
SkyeFyre did you take a look at the pictures above?
Disable anti-aliasing and shadows, lower postprocessing and object view distance and you'll get more FPS in scenes with a high density of foliage.
Your report is useless without hardware specs and game settings.
I can confirm what Provenance is saying. Both zoom in and zoom out work fine independently of the players head position / rotation (using TrackIR 5 with TrueView off).
Enabling TrueView inverts the zoom direction with the head rotated beyond +/- 90°, like described above.
Here my in-game settings:

In combat pace your weapon is by default in a ready-to-fire position.
If you then press "ToggleRaiseWeapon" it'll go to a muzzle averted position and you're stuck there. Unless you press "Fire" which will bring it up again.

Guys use the search engine before you post!
Fix: Switch "Antialiasing - Transparency" to "Off" in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
See:
http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=618
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147771-BUG-REPORT-ATOC-causes-blue-foliage
And don't mess with your nvidia control panel settings unless you know what you're doing.
Confirmed.

@NeuroFunker, what do you think about this:

Confirmed. (build 0.51.103048)
Using "Collective lower (analogue)" gives me a sink rate of ~ 7 m/s
See: http://www.fastshare.org/dlgo/ArmA3___Helicopter___Collective_down.mp4
Confirmed. (3 Monitors on GTX 670 - 2 of them always black when running the game in fullscreen mode)
Confirmed. But the "Steps To Reproduce" are wrong.
Combat pace needs to be OFF to reproduce this!
- Equip any full-auto gun
- Press and hold "Move forward" (default key: W)
- Press and hold "Fire" (default key: Left Mouse Button)
I think this is related to:

PS: I agree with Spruten, movement speed should switch to combat pace while firing.
@dtigim, kmlkmnsk, bADaZZ13 what object view distance do you use?
Take a look at these example settings:
Object view distance 500 -> 58.2 FPS
http://www.abload.de/img/arma3_ovd_5008tz63.png
Object view distance 1009 -> 44.3 FPS
http://www.abload.de/img/arma3_ovd_1009hkzz6.png
Object view distance 2016 -> 37.2 FPS
http://www.abload.de/img/arma3_ovd_2016ysxn4.png
Object view distance 5000 -> 30.0 FPS
http://www.abload.de/img/arma3_ovd_50001gbvs.png
We should talk about the same scene with the same settings on different hardware.
And then we can talk about which settings have the greatest effect on fps in this scene with this hardware.
I created a few Benchmark Scenes in the editor and put them into an easy to use "Benchmark" user profile:
http://www21.zippyshare.com/v/77022325/file.html
(General settings: http://pastebin.com/PfQFZq4k)
Simply extract this archive into your "Arma 3 Alpha - Other Profiles" folder.
Then change the in-game profile to "Benchmark" and run the missions from the Editor (Editor -> CTRL+O -> Select Mission -> Preview).
My results on Intel 2500k @ 4,4 GHz and GTX 670 (314.07) are:
Benchmark - 59 fps

Benchmark_Scene_1a - http://www.abload.de/img/arma3_benchmarkscene_ycrvr.png

@alatusa, I have nearly the same hardware and I'm never stuck at 30fps:

@Grom, the developers are not responsible for the stupidity of their customers.
Leave the driver settings untouched unless you know what you're doing and you won't end up with blue foliage.
It has nothing to do with PhysX. See: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147771-BUG-REPORT-ATOC-causes-blue-foliage
Switch "Antialiasing - Transparency" to "Off" in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Vote for close - since this is not ArmA related.
As reference:
Quite some footage of machine guns:

Assault rifle footage including the Tavor:

They added "Very High" and "Ultra" to the shadow settings in the dev build.
