Larrow added a comment to T84096: Customizable 3D Editor controls.

I am also a ESDF key user and have done since coming from Arma2 into the A3 alpha. In fact ive now changed all my games as it allows for an extra column of keys in easy reach.

I would of thought an editor keys bindings section is something you would add early on and add keys to it as you implement features leaving you not having to back track once your finished. Especially from a usability standpoint for both devs, testers and now that its in beta your public users.

Current Zeus bindings do not work for the left and right panels but are hard coded to E and R.

Even keys from the Common bindings like Map, Lights, NightVision dont work but are hardcoded to M, L and N respectively.

Infantry movement bindings work for the 3D view yet 2D view movement is hard bound to WASD. It has always been a PITA that splendid camera is hardcoded to WASD and that has never been changed no matter how many time i commented on it both here, in the forums and in private to Moricky.

At the moment it just leave the new editor excessively frustrating to use and test. I understand it is beta but when one of the key features is the ability to seamlessly jump from 2D to 3D to playing having multiple different key sets is frustrating.

So i found an issue. It was due to implementation structure in engine overriding correctly set tooltip by one calculated for normal ListBox. It is fixed ind you will be able to check it out in tomorow DEV update ;)

I think this should apply everywhere the tree system is used in the editor. For example, press Alt+# to collapse that layer of the tree and then Shift+Alt+# to expand, just like how Notepad++ works.

Hello, we are sorry you are experiencing issues with our game.
Could you please export your game log files from the launcher?

Steps on how to export logs from ARMA 3 Launcher:

  1. Start ARMA 3 Launcher
  2. Click the Hamburger menu tab in the launcher (Top right corner. Next to Options (Cog wheel icon) and Minimize Button)
  3. Drop down menu will appear
  4. Select: Prepare Arma Troubleshooting error and save those files
  5. A notification will pop up with the name of the generated file

Please note that the files might take a while to collect.

Attach the generated files to the ticket. If the files are too big please use some free file sharing service.

Also, please check if your page file is enabled and how big the page file is.

How to check your page file:

  1. Go to control panel
  2. Select System
  3. Select Advanced System settings in the left menu
  4. In the new popup window select Advanced and and Click settings under Performance
  5. New window will pop up. Select advanced again and check the Virtual memory tab
  6. The total paging file size for all drives number represents your page file size.

Lastly, Is your hardware overlocked (CPU,GPU and RAM mainly)

This helps us investigating your problem in a big way.

I have the same problem, running the game modded, placed down a 2 Hematt trucks and grouped them together, then placed a support waypoint. The group leader remained stationary in the editor but the second truck was driven to the waypoint by the ai in the 3d editor, also leaving behing the x,y, and z arrows behind

I had a similar problem with mods attached. I had the RHS US and Russian mods running. Set an A-10 on the runway, started mission, took off, crashed (lol) and quit back out to the editor. The A-10 then powered up and started off down the runway by itself. It left its XYZ arrows behind and if I moved any of them the A-10 jumped back to the arrows and then tried to go off down the runway again.

I tried with the built in CAS plane but this did not have the same problem.

http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=25743 just made pretty much duplicate ticket. It's when the center of the vehicles goes below terrain level that it automatically switches back to surface alignment.

Right click > Transform > snap to... will over-ride this, still seems like this shouldn't happen.

So issue was that old SQM was slightly corrupted (trigger was sync to object that was not recreated from SQM - probably ignored logic waypoints). So i added some safety features for such cases and i'am now able to open your mission without any visible issues. With tomorow DEV update you can test it out on your own ;)

I have tons of scenarios that use game logic waypoints to track "visual logic" style programming so i would lose all that code if i am unable to import all my old missions with this. side note/idea: create a script to mass convert to new format for all missions in personal files (with backup of course).

I think that is something different, namely to find out whether you are editing a single- or multiplayer-mission. See the small icon next to the "addons" icon on the bottom right of your screen.

@freexavier Yes, something like that. Something like in the Zeus game mode with two or more gamemasters.

It would be great, if you would be able to create a base/FOB and your buddy is creating an enemy outpost/mission goal at the same time on the same server. Both are able to look at their creations, discuss and tweak them. Maybe it would save a lot of time.

I hope BIS consider this. If not, maybe the modders can. Because I heard them said that the Eden Editor is fully moddable. So if they don't do it. Hopefully modders will.

I think this is design decision and personally I like it. Type "device" in search field and click different categories, it exists in more than one, so this is actually useful

Hi there, I am not able to reproduce your issue.

What do you mean with "Switch back to Objects"?

If I choose BLUFOR, OPFOR until PROPS, the highlight (Assets) stays on Objects (F1).

Maybe I do something wrong, but if I clear the search bar and switch through the Assests, I don't have any problems.

Thank you for reporting the issue.
We need crash dump files from this folder to analyze your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package, please?
Archive smaller than 5000 KB can be attached directly to the ticket. For bigger archives, please use some free sharing service and post link here.

How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.

I fixed it by deleting the 2 missions I had downloaded from Armaholic. I can now start a server.

No, I did not. I downloaded 2 missions into the folder. All my other downloaded missions are gone due to the SSD crash. I do have Steam subscribed missions still. An interesting point is I noticed that my mods aren't being loaded unless they were Steam subscribed. I placed them into the Arma3 root directory as I always did on Win 8.1.

BTW... I can join and play on internet servers, just can't do my own server.
