This is too early I guess. They not even on stable branch yet. Plus they gonna add sinking when ruined, so a lot might change until final product. Humvee had a lot of bugs for a long time before its final state

Still in 1.25, not resolved. It is very easy to recreate. Log in on vanilla server, find a shotgun, load it, re-enter the server and you will see the picture

I don't understand you ppl, the gas zones a perfect. Warning system is perfect. This is post apocapalypse, or did you expect push up sms on you cell every time zone's about to drop? I agree with Nate, definitely is lacking of lore behind the strikes. Maybe Sakhal will shed some light on that

"It was the biggest stability update up to that point. There were like 4 pages of fixes and good changes. but for some reason people got stuck on "masks"." The "masks" is just because the only new content were masks, but it was forced and advetised like it was 2nd Dambog bunker on chernarus. It was a good update in tearms of bug fixing in theory, but realization was not the best. Radio "known" frequency is a good idea, it'll make radio used for something finally. Alarm over the speakers in every place where it falls - this is zombie apocalypse, don't think they have some kind of sensors that can do that automatically, plus how long the battary would last for that thing? As far as I know such systems work along with humans. So either them all be controlled remotely from some place (which should be 2nd bunker somwhere on Livonia), or they just stopped working long time ago as all the operators are looking for some fresh brain now. Besides they already have visual alarm - red light. I don't even know why this ticket was opened. Livonia is too big, lets remore part of the map :)

Are you nuts people? "The whole "toxic" update was the worst one ever." LOL, did you forget about 1.14 Mime masks??? You guys act like you have billions of $$$, tried everything in this life and bored as heck, don't know what to do so you decide "let's remove this". Relax, dynamic toxic zones are fine, they add spice when you loot some location and then you have to quick delta out of there.

Agreed about bipods and folding buttstocks (-1 for length would be logical). Improving existing gusns over new - no. You can improve existing (but I thinks it's more about attachments improvement, guns are ok as for me), and in the same time add new, but not just new like sv98 which made zero changes (model is amazing but in same old 7.62x54 it made no difference, I was expecting it in .338), but adding guns that makes changes. Simply alowing add x4 acog to M16 (like IRL) you'll bring amazing 5.56x45 DRM in the game. By adding higher caliber bullets you'll fix 200m sniper problem. And maybe it's already time for M249/PKM and RPG? Maybe not ofc, but modders alredy learned to make custom animations, and you guys alway implement great mods into the game (like it was with gas/radiation zones), so, maybe it is time.

New rainfalls on Livonia are really short term, which is OK. But having heavy thunderstorms like before 1.26 from time to time (at least 1-2 times per 24 hours) would be nice

I'm done. Found that default.p3d file, archived it and deleted - same result, same error. I've had something similar with Reforger Workshop where you open some scope model and it is bugged so each time you start it it auto shuts down. Luckily I found post that says you need to go deep in the registry and change this and this, but for current problem there is no such post. I guess full reistall is the only way, and no guarantee It'll help. Why it has to be so complicated.

Also I'm not out of space on my PC, Tools were checked for integrity of files, main game aswell. I reextracted Dayz to P drive with the help of Mikeros Dayz2P. Still nothing. It starts (before start it hangs on "scanning" for 5min, and then launches and after 1-2sec disappears). I don't want to reinstall the whole game and redo P drive as I have a lot of mods there. Can you point at least any direction where to move? I tried to find "core\default\default.p3d" but as I said I don't know the location

This helped, no more error, but it lauches and automatically shuts down after 1-2 seconds. Do you know what could cause that?

By the way, casing (shell) drop sounds on differnt surfaces for rifles (svd for example, but they all use shell_39 sound, so basucally for all exept of shotguns), so drop on the ground sounds are being played "-1.5"m from the left side, and in rifles (again like svd) bolt opens from the right side, and case drops off from the right side (memory lod point nabojnicestart/nabojniceend also proves that), so it would be correct to replay sound on the right side by changing "-1.5 ...." to "1.5 ...."

Update: SV98 as other x54/.308 rifles drops person in uncon state on 700m+, but only without any armor, with plate carries those are short ~220m, very sadly. So once you have plate carrier there are NO snipers for you, unless they're within 220m from you. This is even worse. 220m is ectremely close, compared to this 700m are light years away, and 1000m is only in dreams :(

@WeirdXone your way of thinking is right. But there are ways to make it only for sv98 (if to talk about tech side). If about lore side - they can just add it for sv without explaining why it is only on sv and not on other picatinny rifles. M14 DMR with hunting scope would become even more powerfull. But still, scope is just a very small part of a problem, I'm still sticking to my point of view that x54 and 308 is critically not enough for long range sniping, therefore there no point in x8 or x12 scopes now (as you won't kill anybody farher than 500m). Im sure this problem will be solved if they add .338 or higher, in that case they'll have to add new scopes for long range or allow to attach hunting scope.

I agree with you guys, but think they made acog x6 max only bacause of an ammo. 7.62x54 (same as .308) is only good within ~500m, above that distance you can only "tag" a player (hit to the body which won't cause death or knock down), so most likely he will just hide/run away. With x9 scope you will see the target better, but still above 500m it'll make zero changes, meanwhile acog 6x provides enough of magnification within these 500m. I'm not defending this decision, just saying it is logical here (as you won't be able to do anything above 500m, unless a headshot, but not everybody is that lucky). I thought they going to release .338 variant of SV (as they mentioned "exotic"), so it would cover 500m+ distance. But the reality is completely different, we got SV98 limited by 7.64x54 ammo power (capabilities) and limited by acog x6. Description say it has the best precision, but compared to SVD with PSO or M14 with acog x6 it does not look good at all. The model of a gun itsef is amazing, but that is it. 1.26 is going to be late this year (fall) and most likely the last update of the year, so our best hopes for 1.27 (first update of 2025), but with the same probability this problem can be left unsolved till the end of game support. Sure there are tons of M200, L96 and M82/M107 on modded servers, but I'd really like to finally see some heavy sniper rifles in vanilla, even no mag 1 bullet bolt action, but capable kill players on 800m+.

I just wanted to add: thank you and huge respect for all that you've done, for the ambient music, for upcomming winter map - this is more that a lot oh ppl could dream about. Still plese don't close your eyes on the problems that are left. I know no time, all are extremely busy, maybe not for now, but for the future at least note this for yourself. Dayz is a great game, but with long range sniping it will be much better (like it just became with the new ambient that a lot of folks were asking to add for a very long time)
