Now now guys lets keep it GPU friendly. THe features you guys are describing as 'helping' would destroy every super GPU out here. USing apex estruction is somthing quite dynamic. Could be used for vehicles(destruction of parts using proxymesh utilization) And buildings. hell even roads could be split up in large chunks for when IED hits it or a bomb. As for turbulence. I dont know a usefull implementation in arma asfor Rain smoke dust enc. BUT that would be FPS sucking since ArmA has so much destruction. CLothing? IDK its a large thing to add for only parashutes. as for APEX 'vegetation'witch is jsut Clothing with different params. NO i like my frames and i'd like to keep them :P

Well pluto you must understand Nvidia is like EA.. You pay for the name and you get decent stuff or shit stuff. If you want somthing good you pay allot. They reason they locked Physx or atleast tried to since they failed a bit to Nvidia cards is to earn more profit. Since more and more games are going to run on Physx

CPU are good for multi tasking. While GPU's are built to calculate game aspects LIKE physics and Shaders enc enc.. CPU could be possible but you like 16 or 14 G ram

Actually AMD and Nvidia Preformance using Physx is vearly the same. only thing is AMD users thend to think they are left in the cold because NVidia says its only for Nvidia GPU's witch is logic because they're promoting themselfs.

Do you use UE3? If you do tell me what yo uthink if you dont. Don't judge it simply because a website says different.

Also arma doesnt need that much. Bis only sucks at using the GPU and CPU eficient but they are working on it(I hope).

AS for UE3 has 10 times higher graphics then A3 minimum specs UDK site says is because you can make annything as low as minecraft up to Cry engine 2 grapics.

And Apex can only be run on Nvidia? Lies plenty of UDK users run AMD GPU's and AMD processors whit out issues. Nvidia just says its only Nvidia compatible because they want money(Like ea only difference Nvidia gives us good stuff). So
unless you actually use UDK we can maybey figure out somthing. If not i'd sugest doing more researche. O and a friend of mine has UDK and runs on all amd...

Still working on it. Note im just gona show you guys some small destruction then some heavy destruction. ANd some of you say that you can see chunks falling down.. Are you surprised? they are showcasing the actually interactable destruciton Whitout particles. I on the otherhand added some particles but not continues dust since my GPU (550M) cannot handle it that well. AS i am buying a new pc with 2x 650 TI 1gb superclocked i am willing to do more. And as for the AMD issue.
Its not true Physx is locked to Nvidia. if so then physix would also be and no amd user could play arma 3. The only cocky thing Nvidia did was adjust the Physx and Apex to be uber optimized for Nvidia and for price between amd and Nvidia. Nvidia is better bc everything these days is optimized for Nvidia cards because nvidia has the best physx engine for games. But you pay for the name like a mac.

Apex simulation is done. Note its a Unreal tournament Quake 3 demo showing apex destruction whitout lag (Note this engine is 10 times heavyer then Arma engine)

True. BUt the current system already damages you (even do radius is directly to the building). SO i gues they should tweak the damage of current building collapses better. Since you only breake your legs when inside and just flince when outside.

Well APEX pretty much takes size and vel. You could add weight to it but since(By A2 knowledge) The gravity in arma is about the same as that on the moon............... who knows what would happen. So yhea but IF this get inplmented dont expect SMall particles. Large chunks of walls with smaller Physx particles is what you should expect.

Well Yes ofcourse. Either 2 options you have. Make it server togable and client side: In the mission you can set Apex destruction wounding to On or of still leaving the visual aspect of APex destruction but taking away the injuries it could leave you with. ANd on clientside the ability to disable the visual aspect leaving you with the old ArmA destruction. I hope this clears the 2 questions you had there feel free to ask me more! Also good note on that totaly not tought about the injury system.

Yes. It is if they really listen to people that want this at put theyre minds to it next to all the other things. Its totaly possible. Why? THink about it. Apex is a feature NEXT to Physx. What does that mean? Apex can be turned on and off in games like Planetside 2 witch means Thoese guys overthere got it next to the game but not as a need to feature. If the devs figure out how to do this it means they can implement it whitout people NEEDIng it. If bugs apear in it they could dissable it in a release build, Tweak it and turn it back on again. People think APEX is a entire new engine witch its not. Its just an extra feature of Physx itself. I hope this clears up some of the confusion behind apex.

3 Yes and no its not only for Nvidia GPU's aldo they recommend it but yhea who would promote theyre own product.
4 Yes but Thoese game use Physx Apex features like clothing and Fluids and turbulence witch are power suckers back in that time.

Note to rest im making a mini quake kinda game with apex. And in 1 map it has more then 500 parts.

Lol. Not at all. You are totaly not getting the point here. I just summed up couple of features apex has to offer. No need for most of them. Clothing could be used for parashutes. Apex destruction for buildings. And trust me ACE2 had some sort of chunk physics system witch really brought some WOW in the game. Stnading in a street blowing up massife chunks of buildings really changes it.

4 pieces? Hell no 10 is decent for one building since stratis only have 50 would give you 500 pieces. Witch i gues do not get triggerd at the same time. And you can make them delete themselfs. or change texture to somthing easy to render.

its gona take a little longer. I did make a little map with over 200 fracture parts 11 bots running around blowing up the palce. NO lag at all. Note a arma building could be devided in 20 pieces that is mroe then enough

Note really. Apex has been around since late 2008/9 imagine how it was then. I use UDK for physx and when running a game with over 100 structures that can be destroyed leaving 200K parts it uses 50% of my cpu not to mention the better Graphics then A3 the 60 AI in 1 mach the vehicles sounds explosions enc. So its possible only if bis fixes there engine.

Apex physcs has been around since ArmA 2 never used because it was extreemly unstable. Now that i use it i can easly say its totaly worth a shot. If Bis finaly fixes the utilization issue with both GPU and CPU this is fully doable. Planet side 2 uses Physx and Apex turbulence(THE EAVYEST OF DEMALL) Wich means that during a game 1 one frame of openfield about 10K plus particles are being renderd by Physx engine whitout lag. because the guys at Nvidia know how to optimize the GPU for best preformance. This is doable but i'd say start small with walls and fences different smoke particles using Turbulence (like now with fire only less shitty).

Well i work with DIfferent game engines on a dayley base. So yhea the only annoying thing is the work that comes looking with it but for the people at BIS its like counting to 10. Clothing is unnecessary but yhea if the time is there and they will try it out who knows its always fun to mess around with clothing (Trust me im an expert with timekilling using Physx). I recommend to thoese who want to download physx lab 1.1 and download UDK FEB 2012 release. watch some tutorials and whitin an hour you are making fully destructible buildings :P

Omg.. Staph with thinking people. APEX is one of the most easyest things to implement especially with Physx already in. All apex does is add some extra coding to the whole thing to make thoese fracture animations. The only issue this is gona give is the time. Remodeling most of the structures if they want to do it really really detailed but i gues by using texture mapping a fracture pattern onto existing buildings they can fracture rize it like that. So it depends how and if they will do it.

This is not an issue. THis is more somthing that has to do with players having hard time learning weapon systems in the game. Both interfaces are easy to use and non of them are disposable. Both Titan RPG and PMCL are able to reload on the field. IDK if they are gona add the M136 AT4 CS/RS but if they do its probably gona be simple iron sights since its technicaly a Anti Personal launcher. SO yes /downvoted.

@Kol9yN its not an engine bug. Its just somthing the makers overlooked when testing some of the stuf. This is pointless doesnt bring annything interesting to the battlefield unless you wana attach a gun to a goat and runaround shooting people.

No seriously people GET YOUR PRIORITIES RIGHT. ANimals that can swim? idk how that is emproving the tactical and realism of this game. Even do animals can swim in reallife i dont think we are gona ride on the backs of cows into combat now are we. Yes this is somthing that needs to be tweaked but if i have to give it a priority its allll the waaay at the bottom because there are more important things to do.

I'm not gona like or dislike simply because this is one of thoes request that aren't really that much of an important feature. I dont know how this would change the battlefield unless they make AI get destracted by every single animal they come across.

and NodUnit arma 2's optics where modelt perfect. THe view was correct so for the animations and optic models. IF you would look left and down a bit you could actually see the barrles of the gun (AH-1Z Super cobra)

Dirty ammo? Noooo you understand me wrong xD Dirty ammo is ammo with instad of Gun powder a mix of High explosive powder and a bit of GP. This causes the gun to exploded somthimes killing its opperator or heavyly injuring him or her (Los of sight parts of limbs) This is not somthing 3d world related its somthing about politics :and ddirty warfare:P

What? Weapons jam if you want it or not. Case rupture is when a tiny crack in the cartridge turns into a huge gap releasing all its power trough the bolt chamber. Usually jamming the gun pretty mad. Also In seria right now ammo is being trapped. using High explosive powder in cartridges making them explode. People lose hands arms eyes every day by dirty ammo.

I know.. lol.. annyway why do people get so upset by smoking? If a child starts smoking by a game its either not raised well by its parrents and or shouldn't be playing a game like this. Like other people said make it realistic not idea and as far as i know lots of people in the real army no mather the country they all have tons of smokers in there. Its a anti stress thing and its legal so why not.

Actually i know people that got shot. Friend of mine lost his left leg due to friendly fire. Not going of topic. It doesnt matter from how far you get shot getting shot is painfull making you combat in effective for an hour. Not to mention the boddy armor they use today isn't really effective against the AK RPK PKM SVD bullets. BUT lets not go of topic here.

BEWBS thats what your gona get people scripting them naked and thenthis game has to be 18+... Extra animations would be lovely since I know people that run 24/7 maps that simulate real life. You have to patroll rebuild partsof towns build bases enc enc.

14 year old kids shouldn't even play these games in the first place. But yes we are not talking about animations you can trigger whenever you want. Most of these are automaticaly actived when being either Idle for to long or just walking a long time enc. And why would we even implement dances. Note its probably gona be like A2 again so much hidden animations bis never fully implemented but modders find. Trust me the only eastereggs in this game are the hidden functions and animations :P

Dude the leg swing. Its the bomb.. But yes i know what you mean and i feel you. I've seen plenty of marines helping eachother over walls (Climbing with 50KG gear isnt really like 1.2.3) Or some advanced SKS animations version.

And seriously. Military company's come up with idea's. They explain tthey're workings and functionality and how it would work out for the soldier. Thats today and you belive by thoese Idea's that they will be used in the future because thats what TV says? Thats just playing a bit stupid... Look at the F35.. it was super advanced back in the day with new hightec stuff. Then 5 to 10 years later the tech in that thing is basic. And seriously Nano liquid armor? If you watch Discovery you will realize that this is imposible whit current technology so its just a moc up of idea's. ALso the fact you are describing 17 inc screens in soldier helmets? IDK how large your head its but mine aint 17 inches large....

Also if you think that most of arma 3 features now are not future realated. They are most of these vehicles are being tested today or are being designed. Note the devs actually used old vehilces to design some of these things based on how military companys upgrade they're tech. All these things are doable in 22 year time span not like your stuff.

Yep. Lasers indeed. Actually there already are military grade lasers only they cost to much and suck up to much power. and sniper detection equipt ment? Link me to prove your points. And you udnerstand me wrong with production cost will get higher. I meant that some things we have today we will not have in maybey 20 years (OIL) everything has to be changed. Todays future tech are just idea's put into development to se how they could be implemented in the future. They give US soldiers these things to try them out doesnt mean that they are using it for full scale your just not understanding the word testing.

Not because somthing is tested today will mean it will be implemented in the future. Even do they are considert Cost efective today doesnt mean in 22 years they still are. YOu must realize Technology grows insanely today maybey today's 'future'tech is outdated whitin the next 5 to 10 years. So im downvoting this simply because you haven't looked at the logic aspects.

Note this could also bring in new game modes. Where you have to build camps with Antena's, defend them, destroy them, or capture them. I know this kinda sounds like a call of duty battlefield kinda feature but think about it. Today everything is so technologized what will it be in 22 years? Probably even more. who knows.

Well you are looking from a point today. Cyber warfare is an issue ofcourse. But todays top secret coding is so advanced it would take a couple of days to crack it(By skilled people) In thoese days security could update or become aware of the attack and launche a counter attack. Now this game is in 2035 who knows what happends 22 years from now :P. Annyway this would allso add different features. The ACUTALL use of radar emplacements meaning players have to set up radar networks and EG defend them from enemys. No fancy hacking and code cracking just a basic grunt defending a important military asset. I mean stratis has like 3 large Satalite structures on the map. WHitout this system they would become useless. If you would put this in it would actually mean that players have to defend it take it or destroy it to preffend the enemy from getting to know where they are. Maybey a bit exesive but its somthing i'd like to see. instad of having to kill an enemy whitout logic purpouse you actually have and thats to prefend the enemy from knowing where you are.

I understand you are probably the only one in this community that has experience whit this. But i'm not shure if you can look into the future that far. Thats exactly what i mean! haha you only described it a bit better.
The problem we have with arma now is the fact that everyone can use the map the same way and if you dont want that you have to put the dificulty up. Only problem with that is everyone gets the same crappy map system whitout anny info.

Yhea but the green they use makes me wana puke :P its awfull. Atleast the Arma 2 OA ACE2 green in Thermal optics on the Bradly and stryker where awefull. Could hardly see enemy's nor they're siluete.

Nope not at all. the damage mapping done by bis is a compleet fail. Shots in the legs and arms are equal as fatal as a shot to the head. As for shots to the chest wont do much fatal harm unless you get pumped by a 50... As for the .45 now it is underpowerd shots to leg arms chest head dont do much dammage Head shots require 2 full close shots to the face for the enemy to die...
