I can confirm that RB + Right on D-pad now toggles the night vision properly on Xbox (I'm testing on a Series X). However, I believe you are supposed to be able to change the brightness with RB + UP/Down on D-pad, but this is not working.

Was resolved with Greg, he's gonna update the mod. Problem was in fact in action definition. Needs to be tested by xbox users though.

EDIT: I was trying to import files with the wrong resolution.
Solved my issue.
The invalid pointer problem was solved, the get_now variants are still not exactly working as intended (s. https://feedback.bistudio.com/T166390) but I think since that has its separate ticket this here can be considered resolved @Geez

Tested some other cases and also found that :
It also happens with other names, it is not exclusive to just "Equal" or "Equals".

In this case, you can see that the compiler considers EqualsBruh and LessThanOrEqualsBruh the same name after compilation? I think that might be part of the error? This should not normally happen?

As a suggestion, import of large textures via tiled smaller resolution images could be less straining process.
