Can I hope to get any feedback, at least about the cause of the crash if not solution? Not being able to play Arma 3 is frustrating, the problem never goes away!

Just upgraded to latest video driver 340.52 but the game keeps crashing... I've uploaded today's dump files as RAR here.

We need crash dump files from this folder for solve your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package please?
When package will be smaller than 5000k, you can attach it here. When package is bigger, please use some free sharing service and post link here.

How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.

I changed to Windows 7 and installed Arma 3 once again but the problem persists :(
I also tried older Geforce drivers with no success.
Can you tell from the dump files what is causing the crashes? Is it driver-related or hardware related? Should I try another video card, for example?

I've tested the Lynx APDS rounds and I can assure you that its penetration power seems to be correct, except with bodies. Vote up!

PS. and it sucks we have to vote real issues/bugs. They should all be investigated if reported in a way the devs can check it quickly. There are bugs that never gets votes because the biggest mass dont ever encounter them. So they are never fixed. Voting should be for suggestions only.

Lets hope "most" people use these rifles at some point, and that they have tested what we tested. :D

the updated Launcher released with Arma 3 update 1.32 features new communication interface to Steam that is less susceptible to interference by 3rd party applications.

If you have any problems with the new version of Launcher please create a new issue ticket.

That damn service comes with this new Razer mouse I bought. You are correct, if I kill that service, A3 Launcher works even if Steam is run as non-admin. I don't use the Launcher anyway, so I will wait for next stable branch update before trying it again.

Hello OMAC,

thank you very much. Based on that list, your problems are caused by process RzWizardService.exe - Razor Wizard Service. That service creates a misconfigured communication pipeline preventing communication between Arma 3 Launcher and Steam.

This issue is not present in Dev-Branch, because we fundamentally change the way Launcher communicates with Steam and 3rd party apps can no longer interfere with it in this manner.

Unfortunately we don't have any workaround at this moment (apart from stopping the service or switching to Dev-Branch).

Killer Network Manager monitors my Killer Xeno pro gaming network card. BFNservice (Big Foot Networks) controls the card. Both packages start automatically on boot. It would make sense that there is a conflict between those packages and the Steam A3 Launcher. One time those packages had a conflict with iTunes network function, but the packages were patched to fix that.

However, killing the Network Manager and BFNservice does not affect the Steam Launcher function, as the same "Steam is in offline mode" and "Check if Steam client is running" errors still persist.

Hi,thank you for your logs and task list. Based on that I have a working theory, but I can't test it right now. I'll let you know then I test it, it meanwhile you can test it by yourself.

It seems that you're running an application (running with admin privileges) or a service that is interfering in communication between Launcher and Steam Service Host. I've seen that you're running a Killer Network Manager and this app may cause the issue. You can try to uninstall that Killer Network Manager or to kill the KillerNetManager.exe process AND stop/disable BFNService.

Hi OMAC,

thank you for reporting this. This is not intended behavior and it should not happen under normal circumstances. Typically, this problem happens when Launcher and Steam client are running on different security level (admin vs not admin), because Windows then prevents one process from seeing the other one.

Could you please run following command in the command prompt (cmd.exe) when "Please make sure Steam client is running" message is displayed:

tasklist /V > OMAC_tasklist.txt & start OMAC_tasklist.txt

and then upload the text file here as well as log files.

Also I'd like to ask you how do you start Arma 3 Lancher (are you starting it through Steam client or by invoking Arma3Launcher.exe directly) and whether you're starting it as Administrator (intentionally)?

I normally use a non-admin account on my Win7 x64 box to play BI games. If I start Steam normally, the A3 Launcher always says that "Steam is in offline mode," followed by "Steam service unavailable. Please make sure Steam client is running." The launcher will exit if click "Ok". If I start Steam as admin, the Launcher works. Is this behavior normal and intended? I can upload the Launcher log from my non-admin Windows account if that will help. Using A3 1.28.127008 stable build.

I start Launcher by right-clicking on Arma3 game in left column in Steam, and selecting "Open Launcher," or I click Play for Arma 3, and then click "Open Launcher" in little window that pops up. I am starting launcher as NON-ADMIN user. If I start Steam as ADMIN, then "Open Launcher" works fine. I'll upload my files.

This is just getting ridiculous, I can't even make a low speed U-turn without rolling. Going around a slight turn at the speed limit causes 2 wheels to lift off the ground. It's like there's a weight attached 2 meters above the car, so every turn is deadly.

if you walk in reallife, and turn your head around, the footsteps dont pan from left to right. also if you raise your weapon you dont hear your footsteps to the left. it sounds like someone is walking next to you on the left side.

also if you are in a car and you break with skidmarks, they dont move in the stereo field and than back to teh middle. listen exacly.

and yes, the engine in the planes ist just warping around ;) thats the most weird.

so i say its a bug in the audioengine, because all is acting a bit wired, and should be hotfixed!

Well, if you move your head, the position of the soundsource is still the same. Like in the real world, you recognize the sound source's origin by the fact, that both of your ears are in different positions. When moving your head, the angle differs. This way, sources are triangulated. ARMA simulates this behaviour. And all of your videos show that it works fine. Well, not perfect at all, but there is no need to "hotfix" anything.

edit: The bug with the jet's engine is actually pretty weird though. ;)

Incorrect, It's stated that they sacrifice solid chest protection i.e plate carriers. We live in a world where you can literally buy a suit jacket that is lined with bullet-proof material (at least up to large pistol rounds.) With the strange silver undersuit that CSAT uniforms seem to have, is it really that hard to believe they wouldn't have some form of protection within their uniforms?

Certainly large terrains seem to exacerbate the problem, but I've noticed weapons and accessories moving on stock terrains too.

It is looking like some client side mods are the blame for the crashes. I went vanilla with ArmA3 and rejoined the server and it seems to be working. Most of my mods were weapons mods like the MK18 Mod1 and the RH packs which I suspect with the new ballistics in the game might be why the server was getting confused and decided to go take a nap.

Iv had this exact issue as well. My test was however spawning 2 fireteam of seperate factions and not even after 5 secs of fire does the server crash. I'm using a linux server with multiple addons which may very well be the cause. I did test locally with same mission and mods and same issue. I do have the rpt and minidump files however im not at home right now so il post them wen i do. Linux rpt file didn't create any errors just before crash so im assuming that it didn't log the errors from memory.

Edit- wat are some of the mods u are using? I'd love St ours but we use alot.
