In Arma 2 you could disable respawn with respawn = "GROUP"; + disable AI.
This keept respawn disabled, but left the possibility for players to join a mission in progress. If a player died he would spectate and his slot would be removed from the slotting menu.
In Arma 3 it is similair, but here is the problem.
If a player dies now he still goes to spectating, but he can simply hit abort, return to the slotting menu, continue without selecting a different remaining slot (OK button is not greyed out), and respawn with the same character he died with. This should not be happening.
This problem likely also affects respawn type "SIDE".

The most simple solution would be if players are unslotted when they abort a mission. This also happens in respawn types "BIRD", but there it is not a problem since you spectate anyways when joining in progress. In respawn type "GROUP" (and likely "SIDE" aswell) players can cheat themselves back into a no respawn game.
