This issue is also happening in Altis. Areas that I have observed it, where in and around the Stadium, Thronos hill and some military bases. I will get back with more specific information

Please let me know if the problem is not reproducible on your end. Just to eliminate the possibility of my PC not calculating correctly !!

I'm running version 1.52 and I am also experiencing this issue when using 20m radius in some areas. I looked for a large open field with a large 100m radius to reproduce the issue and I think I found something the developers can use to narrow the issue down.
Place a unit on Altis at location X: 18830.0 and Y: 18183.0 on the map and set a placement radius of 100m.
You will see that the unit has a big field he can spawn in yet he will only spawn in 3-4 small areas near the outer perimeter and never in the center open field. The locations he will spawn in are:

  1. small area around the ruined building in the lower right of the spawn area,
  2. small area in field in lower and lower left close to outer perimeter spawn area.
  3. small area close to beach in upper outer perimeter of spawn area.

After restarting the mission many times you will see a dull pattern of 3-4 general small spawn areas. I hope this helps. If a developer needs anything I am available to assist in debugging this issue.

New information...
I have run extensive test to eliminate user errors and I think I have been able to define the problem. It seems like a hard coded LOCATION problem.
I am attaching a jpg and a simple mission to reproduce the problem.

The problem ONLY happens in certain areas of the Stratis map. Red markers are where the problem occurs Blue where it does not.

Could you please reopen it so I can attach the mentioned files.
If you need to reproduce it your self, go to Camp Rogain and check there.

Negative...the testing I am doing has a plastic can with 20 meters to closest obstruction.

I am still trying to figure out what script is interfering...

Indeed, in simple missions I cannot reproduce it either.
There must be a conflict then into my scripts somewhere that does not allow the placement radius to take effect in more complicated scenarios. I am going to keep looking for what causes it.

Well there's still bug in devbranch that when you quickly turn and shoot the second shot doesn't have any recoil. It only seems to happen on the second shot and not after that like in this ticket. Maybe need a new ticket for that one?

I got the very same issue as shown in your video, without mods and in MP and SP alike. And if you read carefull i told there are 2 dups and one of those is mine admittedly i got you confused by giving the wrong link.

note: i got CBA A5 and SpeedOfSound installed but can replicate this bug without mods ON. It may not occur everytime you load in SP for me atleast. Although i had it always when i connected in MP

I have not had it happen without mods. VTS_WeaponResting or TMR Modular Realism (because it has a weapon resting feature). HLC_Core and it's weapon packs allegedly also do it.

@N3croo I put in alot of work isolating this issue, it is only present with said mods in singleplayer, and applies to all semi auto and/or full auto capable weapons. This is absolutely, in my instance, tied to mods. Perhaps another, different circumstance is causing it for you since it seems to apply differently. I suggest you figure out your particular cause and report that as separate.

@Fireball The modders didn't break it, BI did, therefore at the very least BI and you could explain the changes that caused this in detail to modders to see what they must change to accommodate.

Of course, you could just officially add weapon resting into the game, but BI seems to want to ignore this glaring shortcoming for some reason. Even though modders have shown that overall it is easy to implement.

The weird thing is why does it apply only in singleplayer?

From what i've seen this is bound to the MX-series has nothing to do with mods and nothing to do with SP.
Also they haven't addressed this or one of the 2 duplicates (mine is 2014-06-18 21:45) of this glitch yet.

To put it in civilized manner: This is a stable Branch and there's a major Issue with a Main weapon series and ALL weapons are affected by the sway glitch once you pass over any obstacle (e.g.:stairs) your gun will bounce like crazy while moving.

On a somewhat related note, it'd be interesting to have a similar test for the dead body cleanup settings. I tried using them to reduce the time bodies stay around and they just seemed to stay regardless.

So I've made about 20-25 UAV wrecks and logged out, logged back it and FPS went to 15 from 50. A) the wrecks do not get removed, B) each of them starts smoking at once on log in. This is a disaster.

are you sure you have finished the first campaign episode (even the ending subtitles)?
If you are still experiencing trouble, I'd suggest to use cheat for unlocking the whole campaign and then revert it from the first mission of Adapt.

Well, I thought I've once seen an add when Arma 3 was Alpha saying that anyone buying the support edition of the game will recive, in addition to the game itself, a steam version of Arma: Cold War Assault, some Arma 3 music and the 3D editor. I was not aware however that they plann to make a better-than-in-Arma 2 3D editor after 2015 so, thanks for thi intel.

There is no functional (!) 3D-editor in the game. Developers use 2D-editor only. Development and implementation of 3D-editor is work in progress and planned as expansion, not as DLC.
That means: First are DLCs to come, later Arma3 as platform will be upgraded (including 3D-editor).

The 3D editor isn't restricted to the deluxe edition. Anyone can access it, but it doesn't work very well and you can't save anything you've created (or so I think, I'm not completely sure).

The DLCs that are already confirmed will most likely be the only ones.

Oh. Reviving has been in every game I have played so I thought it was standard Arma 3. Turns out both are missions made by the same Sa-Mantra. I'll redirect my revive bugs to him.

I know, it's a shame that reviving didn't get carried over from Arma 2, it's a really great feature.

Reviving does not exist in Arma 3 (yet). This functionality comes from a mod of some sort. Please direct this issue toward the maker of the mod or admin of the server.

The shadows need an overhaul in general.

totally ugly CPU intense stencil shadows #0008233,

not existing cloud shadows #0004438 (TrueSky is able to render those),

a landscape, that does not cast shadow #0022594,

a limited draw distance for shadows #0020819

not existing dynamic shadow distance like in the latest Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain (if you look through a scope/binocular)

If you take a look in all those tickets, you can't find any comment, that it is not possible.

I really hope, the developers would care about those issues.

would be nice for popular gamemods like altis life, wasteland, ... which can be played without addons. there is no way to change textures for this objects via scripts.

something like:
vestContainer player setObjectTextureGlobal [0,"#(rgb,8,8,3)color(0.16,0.16,0.16,1)"];

or

vest player setObjectTextureGlobal [0,"#(rgb,8,8,3)color(0.16,0.16,0.16,1)"];

would be nice.
Especially custom Skins for Headgear and Vests would be a nice addition.
