SO I think this is just for debug purposes. DEVS!!, I hope you are replacing this with a screen effect, like dripping on the screen, would be neat. Then you can fade that in and out instead of telling us on screen.
Yep, on experimental, not working now. Also, getting through doors seems harder now, last couple of updates actually.
I think the lighting part of the engine needs a lot of work, not so much the sun, but the dynamic lights. I think it's called "radiosity", the lights have none, especially the flashlight. Again, I hope they can fix that.
Yeah, it seems it once working recently, now not again.(on experimental for me)
Are you sure you were in need of "healing" though, maybe you were healthy, then the zombie fixed that. But yes, I rarely see "healthy".
They don't have steam cloud compatibility yet.

I think that will get fixed later on since it's pretty obvious, it should be simple to fix.
I had a similar thing happen. It seems to be due to the lag that occurs when players get near each other. It only happens if they are geared up or something, because on the coast it's not so bad when 10 people are in a naked fist fight.

Yeah and like the berries, some bushes/small trees would notify you "no suitable branch for splints found, take for kindling?"

Just happened, just got all nice gear on experimental... really ruins/ruined my experience. Good game so far, but this is pissing me off.

It looks like the 'origin' or center of the model becomes unlit(like the door), so the rest will appear dark. The origin of the door must be the bottom left, due to the last pic.
I hope it's just a simple fix, but I doubt it.
Who cares if they shut it down, people will stop using that server then, since it could be shutdown for 4hrs. Gradually people will look past that server.
Man, this just shows how pathetic people are, poor sports.
What they might they have to do is disable the ability to restart server on the fly like that. IE, it needs to be on a schedule, only changable when server is in process of restarting. So the hive disallows any restart requests unless request is made during the preset time period.
Ex. Admin sets restarts every 4hrs(12:00, 4:00, 8:00) with hive, once that is sent to the hive, that admin cannot change restart schedule or restart manually until 1 min before and after the hour(ex. 11:59-12:01).
Any requests for restart data not during those 2mins, is ignored, even if the server has had a malfunction.
This is somewhat fixed in the upcoming update. Yet, still I have to do it twice, as after the first 30 seconds, nothing happens.
Also happens when emptying ammo box when on ground still(not in inventory). Magazine/box will become empty yet no "loose" ammo appears.
If you pick up and put in inventory first, the ammo will appear in inventory IF you have room, else it won't.
I get this occasionally, I thought it was the server lagging though. Try going to options controls>assignments. Just going to that screen fixes some control issues. Same with graphic issues, video options.

Kinda of makes the protector case not very protective.. Plus a zombie shouldn't be able to damage certain things too easy, clothes yes, sturdy metal/plastic objects, no. Hope they fix this stuff.

I think for balancing and realism, it should be lowered. Sure a knock out is possible, but way more possible that I'd dodge it. That said, they should add a dodge or block sometime if they're not going to reduce the power.
A punch from behind, should be a knock out though.
Yeah, this needs to be fixed for sure. What I think would be nice, is a crawl position, not a prone position. So up on all fours like a dog, that would give you more mobility to get up stairs or even a 2 inch lip in a doorway.
BTW devs, I think you'd break your foot or tibia more than your femur(strongest bone), so a crawl is more likely.
Is a good idea as long as can be interrupted by moving character a certain threshold, 30cm or so. Hopefully they add the same interuption to all actions, and allow other actions while moving(reload, equip, unequip etc.. properly).
Night time on experimental with rain is better. Though now just the clouds are BLACK, need to lighten those up a bit.
So, that picture is great, but if there was no moon, it would be pitch black. Clouds can actually increase lighting in some cases, especially over cities. It needs work though.
Huh, nice hombre, hopefully that's it. Maybe changing shadow distance caused this.
Well the engine is made by the company that owns Dayz, ya? Just look at Source engine(and CRYENGINE). They just keep updating it, and the devs at Titanfall seemed to have drastically altered the look of the rendering for it.
I really would like someone to explain it, cause I don't get why not.(edit: other than not willing to due to money/time)
Glad we have an expert here to tell us the facts. I would like to know technical details as to why this won't work. I mean, anything is possible, it's a matter of programming. But yes, I don't THINK it will be easy, but great things never are.
Cool thanks for the insight, you seem to know a lot about this for a "reporter". I hope they can do it. For me it would just be a game breaker in my mind if I were Rocket. I would be just like, "fuck it, fix it". Maybe just have another team work on that in a corner for the next 12 months.
^No, none of that is practical. Unfortunately they will have to fix the models, if its because:
- the wall face("|") is not intersecting with the floor("_"), which would look like an upside down "T", it should be connected at right angles, like "L" so no light "seeps" out the bottom. I've seen this before in another engine if I remember correctly.
Or the engine:
- the dynamic lights were not programmed very well in the engine. Almost like no raycast collision is done. I think Rocket might be thinking of playing with the shadows for the dynamic light, so the wall casts a shadow, hence him saying it's expensive.
They might need the original programmer to fix it, but since it's in arama3 still... I'm sad about it:( Does anyone know if street lights shine through walls? Probably static lights though.
I think what happened OP is that you were lagging hardcore, hence why you were disconnected in the first place. I think this because I had this happening, and tried unplugging my roommates connection(he was downloading), and the zombies instantly appeared. Weird that the zombies need so much packets(?)/bandwidth though.
