This bug has always bothered me. I have million times went into an airfield and found a ballistic helmet on top of a closet, but I haven't been able to get it, because it is not showing itself in the vicinity nor I can't middle click to get it because it is not showing the text.
Sometimes when you walk near the closet where the items is, it'll show up in the vicinity.

I think that will get fixed later on since it's pretty obvious, it should be simple to fix.
I personally and others have made bug reports on here. After mentioning it on the forums and getting bombarded with "ITS AN ALPHA DEAL WITH IT OR DON'T PLAY" I gave up. The community on the forums is god awful.
Putting your gun away tends to help you get those higher items. It lets you get a little closer to closets.
This is a place for people who care about the development. So hopefully those^ people are not smart enough to find FEEDBACK.dayzgame.
I actually had a helmet I couldn't get today, it was on a locker in a barracks.
Well, today I found an UK assault vest on top of a blue closet. First I couldn't get it, but when I left the fire station at Elektro and came back to it, I opened up my inventory and moved back and forwf and then the vest showed up in the vicinity
Oh, yes! Quite an annoyance. Also some spawns inside of things you cannot get to. Like pants inside a open locker.
I really hope they fix this annoying bug soon! I don't wanna go into a fire station with an UK-assault vest or a ballistic helmet on top of a blue closet and it being unreachable :(
Yes this happens to me too. And not only closet, sometimes i cant even take something on top of a desk.
Have you tried getting as close as possible and then hitting the Tab button? It should pop up in nearby objects window.
You can ususally take stuff on top of the lockers if you have enough room in inventory or on your body. I.e. if you have full inv and a hat on, you will not be able to take a helmet. Drop the hat and you will get the "Pick up helmet" option...
If inventory is full, then it would be better if it said something like "Take in hands" if your hands are empty, or "Inspect helmet" if not.
