I'd also like the possibility to craft them from chairs, benches, tables etc. But this is a bit more complicated since there'd need to be something like "furniture parts" or something in order to not have a table or chair as an infinite source of wooden sticks.

Yeah and like the berries, some bushes/small trees would notify you "no suitable branch for splints found, take for kindling?"

They need to spawn in the forest.

They are like everything else. in my first 48 hours, I found 4 or 5 M4 rifles. after 5 more days of playing, i cant find one to save my life. My first two or three days of playing i didn't find a compass or a canteen, i found 5 compasses today and a few canteens. All of this was of no use, as my character "Failed to load" and im back to day:z e r o. Sometimes loot is generous, and sometimes its not, I think its a good dynamic to the game. If everyone continually finds the same stuff, then it will end up a KOS game instead of a realistic survival game.

Axe + any lengthy wooden material = wooden sticks. In my professional opinion...

This needs to be resolved I spent two hours yesterday sitting on the ground in DayZ while my friend searched three separate towns looking for a stick to fix my leg. Which was really stupid and ironic because I was underneath a tree the whole time. After the first hour I would have parted with my rifle just so I could walk especially since guns and ammo are more common then sticks and far easier to replace then a stick.

I found wooden sticks today. It has literally been 2 weeks since the last time I found any wooden sticks...I was convinced they removed them from the game for a while.

I would like to see that something similar to the mod where you could gather firewood from the trees in the forest using a hatchet. When approaching a tree in the forest with an axe it would be great (and realistic) if you had the option to...
A: Collect Firewood.
B: Collect Wooden Sticks.

i find those sticks like EVERYWHERE. maybe you guys should look into buildings where "shit loot" spawns, because in those these sticks are rly common. btw dont look for any item you search in towns that are near spawn areas because bambies take everything they find with them.

I wont upvote or downvote this, because I agree that wooden sticks should be craftable from any wood ( sheds, trees, furniture ) if you have an axe.

I however disagree that the spawn rate is too low, I'm having no problems finding sticks in barns and police stations. It's one of the things I gladly sacrifice 2 inventory slots for, when I find it.

So far the Spawning seems to be roll of the dice I found sticks one time and that was when I first played. I find food and drink quite often, clothing is in smaller quantities in some places. The best thing we could hope for stick wise is that they are able to be created out of gatherable wood or if branches are able to be cut (mined/foraged) from trees and then made into sticks.

you don't even need to chop a tree down..you can chop a bush and get the sticks directly...also..I've been seeing every once in awhile I can "forage for kindling" in some parts of stary vobor.....near the church...never found anything much like beries and apples but it does say I can "do the action"
