I had 15 7.62 rounds in my inventory, when emptying a new box of ammo the existing rounds where set to 0 thus rendering that item unusable. I could still load the ammo but upon unloading it again from the weapon the ammo disappeared.
This also occured for magnum ammo.

Have ammo in inventory of x amount, select empty on a new box of ammo, existing ammo becomes 0 but still is in inventory. :(
Event Timeline
I concur with emenius's note. I just tried to empty 3 boxes of ammo in various places and all of the ammo disappeared. Luckily it was just ammo I was trying to pick up, but I would have liked to have received that ammo.
Same goes with magnum speedloards. Find one on the ground and press "Empty". Speedloader becomes empty, but there are no rounds on the ground. You can replicate this in your inventory also.
I think it has something to do with having a full inventory. I just tried it with plenty of room in inventory and it worked normally.
It's not emptying, more like it substracts the required amount of ammo, instead of adding it (i.e. have 20/30 stack of 5.56, emptying 20rnd box: will got 10/30 of old stack and 10/30 of new stack, instead of 30/30 and 10/30). Works with all kinds of ammo boxes and magazines.
Hey guys,
I can confirm this problem. Thank you for the report. We will get right on fixing this!
This bug just went live with new path :C.
I emptied 30rd STANAG (metal one) and one of my stacks of ammo was reset to 0.
Also happens when emptying ammo box when on ground still(not in inventory). Magazine/box will become empty yet no "loose" ammo appears.
If you pick up and put in inventory first, the ammo will appear in inventory IF you have room, else it won't.
This has been fixed internally. The fix will be implemented in the next game update.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
