Thank you for the report, I have assigned it to programmers internally.
Hello,
unfortunately, there are no crahsdumps, only rpt files (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Also, we need dumps from the clean game with no mods enabled to perform an analysis. Thank you.
Uh, crap, then I'm sorry to say that I don't actually have any crash dumps. This is most likely because I need to hard reset my computer every time it does this and the game has no time/cannot save a crash dump. There's no crash dumps for either unmodded or modded.
Alright I found them and I uploaded all the files. This is the first time ARMA 3 has been acting up on me, so the files are all from within several hours of each other. I'm uploading it in both .7z and .zip form, as I don't actually have winrar on here (I use 7-Zip for all this stuff). Hope it helps.
We need crash dump files from this folder for solve your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package please?
When the archive is smaller than 5000k, you can attach it here. When it is bigger, please use some free sharing service and post link here.
How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.
Thank you.
Did some more testing on the problem yesterday and here's some more I can tell:
-It happens with and without mods. Even with everything turned off and set to default, the game will still crash.
-It's not as random as I first thought. In both cases with and without mods, it decides to crash after roughly 25-30 minutes of running. By running, I mean actually being in a scenario or virtual arsenal and not just on desktop.
-I have verified the game files and everything is in order. I've also set HDR to low and lowered most of my settings to low. The problem still persists.
Edit: I also forgot to mention that yes, I updated all my card drivers and directx drivers. I'm certain they are the most up to date they can be.
Hello,
could you please try it with no mods enabled?
I had this problem too just revert the mission and it will work.
Still an issue... +1
Confirmed. He says Flank Left when you command Flank Right. However the AI aren't stupid so they actually Flank Right as intended.
Im not sure if this is supposed to happen but I posted two bugs in the last 30 mins and they where both automatically set to 'assigned' immediately upon posting.
This is the other one I posted: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=21621
Re-tested today and this issue is still present in latest dev build.
This issue is fixed in the latest dev build.
There is no change in the behaviour of this scripting command or the sling loading feature.
Except the mass, vehicle needs to have set proper memorypoints and parameters in model/config as well. If you change the mass for a vehicle, which has these parameters properly set, it works fine. If you change the mass for a vehicle, which is not prepared to be sling loaded (=there are not memorypoints or/and paremeters in config), you won't be able to sling load it. It works this way from the beginning.
Unfortunately this is BIS, they released DLC and games not even finished ...
It should review each vehicle, compare it to reality and then takes a maximum characteristic for better immersion simulation.
Why do all these "futuristic" helicopters keep losing all their futuristic features?
- We lose the radar on several helicopters? Some don't have radars, fair enough. But we SHOULD have a RWR (Radar Warning Receiver) on ALL these futuristic helos. Every single one of them.
- The 2D "realistic flight model" gauges lose the RPM gauge? Seriously? The RPM gauge? Seriously. That gauge is bread-and-butter for real helicopter pilots. Absolutely critical.
- Some of our transport helicopters lose their flare & chaff? What happened in the future that all our helicopters are going back to the stone age?
- The novice flight model doesn't have 2D gauges? Why does ONLY the "realistic" flight model have 2D gauges? In the future, novices can't read 2D gauges???
- How about "wheel brakes". In the future, only people who use the "realistic" flight model can taxi a helicopter to the runway? Novice flight model users are not allowed to un-lock the wheel brakes and taxi a helicopter?
- The future Chinook loses it's ability to do water landings and do boat craft launch & recovery?
What's next? We lose our guns and they get replaced with bows and arrows?
Sorry, but I'm not impressed with the BIS vision of the future. It's somewhat backward. BIS needs to really THINK about the future, instead of just half-a$$ing these design choices. I could be wrong, but I think they are trying to play balance the game by gimping certain features. But this is entirely the WRONG way to play balance. They should put in ALL the futuristic features for side 1, and then add all the futuristic features on side 2 which are designed to counter-act the futuristic features on side 1. Same for side 3. Futuristic features that counter-act the other 2 teams futuristic features. You don't play balance by crippling features on one side.
@7rust Did you even read what he said? He's saying that the ArmA 3's version of the CH-67 Huron is NOT able to land on water even though it should be. I tried this and on some occasions it broke the engine when the bottom of the helicopter was barely touching the water.
@7rust Read the title ...
Well, Arma takes place in year 2035 - so I guess Arma 3s newer version of the Huron is able to land on water ;)
I can confirm this, but simple repro is always nice.
@Iceman
Where exactly can i find this reamining data?
Hello,
this may be caused by some reamining data in your profile, is it possible to delete it?
This is as designed, Your note has been taken into consideration, thanks a lot.
FT doesn't allow me to attach the .mdmp. Not sure if it's helpful anyway but I've uploaded it on my dropbox instead:

Hello,
thank you for reporting this, I can confirm that it is really happening.
Cool. Hasn't really bothered me but I remember reading something back then when I wrote this ticket. One big issue back then (I guess it has been fixed already) was also the UAV camera shake that made the gunner sight shake like crazy when the UAV banks which was also likely the reason I made this ticket.
Thank you for the report!
Because the Camera shake now affects the difficulty (cam. shake when getting hit or suppressed makes aiming more difficult, it can make flying a damaged helicopter more challenging...) and it's an important part of the feedback we're leaning towards removing the option altogether.
Having a premise that no camera shake in vanilla game should be too strong to induce sickness - if you feel in some situations the cam. shake is too strong, please, let us know.
There's also a possibility to disable the camera shake via script command enableCamShake.
Another way to recreate the same problem:
Step 1 and 2 remain the same
Step 3: put an ammo box in front of you with a Titan AT missile in it.
Step 4: open inventory screen and click on the missile. Missile won't load in the backpack, but it will if you drag it instead of clicking it.
I may have the same problem - SP and joining servers with few people works, 30+ crashes instantly or after up to 1 minute.

Sorry, for assuming this behavior of the command then. But it seems less useful than say3D which allows to follow a sound source but is less practical in some aspects.
When object is supplied but not a position, the position is taken from object, otherwise the position is taken from supplied position. That doesn't mean that when position is taken from object it is going to follow object when it changes position. The sound is generated at object position and it stays there.
If you study astronomy, there is really no such thing as these star field lens flare graphics within reality.
If you do see lens flare from strong light sources with star like effect shapes, almost always a star effect filters and other color filter has been added! On the flip, I've briefly heard star effect filters can be used to exaggerate light to detect colors better, such as a prism. (I personally do not like to use star effect filters or any color filter while studying astronomy related topics.)
I think what the reporter more or less wants, is likely a realistic light flare along with Bug #9319 ""Flashlight is too dim..." fixed.
I'm also noticing within the current release, aircraft collision lights, other aircraft lights and runway lights cannot be seen at all during dusk or cloudy skies! (It might be we're getting close to some of these remaining lighting bugs to be tackled.)
rogerx, well, at least these lights seemed better and far more realistic than they are now, in a current version of Arma III with "General availability (GA)" state, in reality it still has more bugs and unfinished features that it's a shame to even give it a Beta state...
Yeah, it seems that all of the lights in the game were dimmed down as well. Like flares used to light up the landscape & stuff like that. It's weird that the Alpha had better lighting than the full version.
Those in the picture would be sprites to be more precise, and they weren't exactly removed, just changed. They are much less intense now. I also liked them a lot, not sure why they've changed them.
A lens flare is something that you see while pointing a camera at a bright light source, like the sun (and that's already in the game). Google lens flare to get a clear idea.
@X39,
that means the game was crashing on memory allocators. We use our own, by deleting them you started using system allocators. The performance might be a bit weaker, it could also mean that some of your hardware is corrupted.
