MP too or only SP?
This do not changing the fact that its issue and its still needs to be fixed. At this moment UAV in ArmA3 is less realistic than UAV in ARCADE game called Battlefield 3 :D
Looks like only your inventory is kept, not the ammoboxes' content. This has nothing to do with NVGs, or do you view it differently?
EDIT: Also the AI spotting you through the darkest of night at 200m+ has to do with the flashlight attachment on their rifles, which only illuminate the next 20-30m, but that's a different story too.
No, I guess not. Like I wrote in the original thread it does not matter, whether I leave the NVGs in the ammo boxes (crates) nor in my inventory.
Other items are kept (like weapons). I looted a Titan and it was kept in the ammo boxes. But the NVGs and the rangefinder have been deleted.
According to your AI notes: This behaviour is quite inconsistent. Sometimes the enemy spots you over a distance of 200m+ and sometime you can walk besides them and nothing happens :)
Can confirm, just having troubles big time in the night time scouting mission (second part with the downed gunship, Adapt campaign); player sees near zilch, AI can engage player at 200+ meters.
Will try to provide a repro mission.
UPDATE: I believe it was fixed with 1.16, but will have to try a little more.
UPDATE2: According to my testing it's been resolved; I've tried soldiers both with scopes and regular riflemen: in a moonless, clouded night they're blind up to the point you're lit by their torches' light cone, as it should be.
Forgot to close. Thanks a lot for the feedback on this!
Please, could you create a repro-mission (with as limited amount of AI as possible, ideally just one)?
Pls try with AI with and without FL and also try to eliminate the influence of
- sound (AI hearing you)
- skylining
- ambient light
I've tried several scenarios, using both AI with and w/o flashlight and the advantage of FL didn't appear so big to me. It seems quite ok to me: http://youtu.be/3dkFAvxlRaM
Thanks a lot!
No problem. Thank you for the report.
I will close it here. The AI has to be a bit indeterministic which makes it usually hard to isolate what's wrong. If you encounter any situation where this applies, please, feel free to reopen the issue.
Your video looks spot on.
It may be the combined AI FL in the scenario I created
or I should go prone more often...
Thanks for looking into it.
Here is the map that it was originally noticed in.

BLUFor doesn't have torches but OPFor torch luminance levels still seem hinky.
Can confirm. AI can see slightly more than the actual light provided by the gunlight.
According to the author the issue can be closed.
Please close, this issue is caused by ASUS graphics cards.
This issue is caused by atkdx11disp.dll interfeering with multiple games including arma, it can be resolved by uninstalling Asus GamerOSD.
This is an issue with ASUS GPU's only.
Lol... support is so... They don't even close it and like before report [still as new from 2013-06-09...
We need dxdiag and files from this folder for solve your problem. C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package please?
When package will be smaller than 2,097k, so you can attach here. When package will be bigger, please use some free sharing service and post link here. Thank you.

ALL INFO IN FILE.
DxDiag inside with arma files
Now I know where is problem... Asus gamerOSD and can't uninstall it by smartdoctor...
Really nice support... They just forgot...I (probally) fixed it by "clean" reinstalling graphic driver with geforce experience (awesome program with support a lot of games with calibrating settings to nice and performance, beta graphic updates etc). Need more info... Gived and they don't replied for 3 days. Awesome guys. Better try to fix by "uncle" google :) or yourshelf if you know what did you do last time.
That's really how small it is. The problem is just that the cargo animations make everyone lean forward in their seat, causing really awkward situations.
[2289.72,5828.9]
lets make their job easier...
fixed on devbranch
Can I suggest you revise the issue title, it's too vague?
I also noticed this problem in the Bingo Fuel mission. My uninjured medic (unit 2) would crawl almost everywhere, in all combat and movement modes. When he does stand, he will only walk. As the formation positions are relative, half my squad was stuck moving slowly with him, which is a big problem in a mission that covers this much terrain. I have unPBO'd the mission, and the bug is apparent on a clean start play through in the mission editor.
I have also noticed similar AI crawling in other missions using the current Dev build.
I've also noticed that if you tell your group to copy your stance, they will only copy standing or prone, not crouch. If you crouch, they will stand.
I played with this for a bit - the texture seems to not be preloaded by the game so the first time or two you fire the missile the flame textures just show up as white, but after that none of the shots show the white anymore.
load a mission editor, fire a missile, observe the white 'flame'. fire again, (second time was 50/50 in my testing) once flame texture is loaded in memory, you have to exit the game and restart to show the white again.
Sorry, no winrar here. I created a zip file. You can download it from
http://www.lausch.at/files/arma3.zip
The dxdiag file is also part of the zip archive.
Hi,
do you have this issue in actual version?
We need dxdiag and files from this folder for solve your problem. C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package please?
When package will be smaller than 2,097k, so you can attach here. When package will be bigger, please use some free sharing service and post link here. Thank you.
Feature is not currently implemented.
I'm downvoting this because: 1. This has already been reported
- Those animations aren't finished, that's why they aren't used.
Confirmed.
Really annoying and makes no sense. If you started reloading, you already have the magazine in your hand.
awesome, glad to see this issue is getting some traction! thanks for the assistance everyone
same thing in single-player, observed during the campaign.
I can't see how the picture is going to help. Also, what the F are you talking about, the sounds are completely fine. The Buzzard doesn't have a gattling gun.
No trolling here, it won't help you (removed pic).
Please specify what sounds (other than the gun) you find wrong.
Point of the pic?
I think a simple fix is that rather it flickering. The light will just transition from bright to low. So it won't look like a graphical issue.
No change in dev build 1.45.130624.
Effect is most prominent on moonless nights.
An example is the debriefing in the first camp in the north west corner of altis (sorry dont know the name of the mission right now). During which the campfire sound is audible very loud without the campfire being actually visible. This is a very annoying issue.
Fixed on devbranch!
I uploaded this files
arma3_2014-02-15_12-28-59.zip (looks interessting)
arma3_2014-02-15_12-27-16.zip
arma3_2014-02-15_14-49-46.zip
the Env. is still arma3_2014-02-07_22-03-22.DxDiag.txt
with 3 Screens, but playing at the just one.
the used RAM of arma is around 1.5GB, almost the limit with Win32-Programms
I used high graphic-settings, almost all with ultra
in all 3 cases arma freeze a while (1 - 2 minutes), because it takes so long I switched back to desktop. Arma becomes a gray overlay from windows (like no reactions)
it take a others while windows says "the arma-Programm is crashed!".
so, I tried. When arma freezed I did wait a long time (sometimes with looping sounds) and Arma come back and I can continue playing. But it freezed again and again ...
so I will try now playing with lower graphic-settings.
happened to me too and i couldn't provide rpt but it seems related to game physix.dlls
I did reinstall Win7, not only about that Errors here. After reinstalling, everythink works fine for me. I think for me, it was some kind of a drive missmatch, after changing hardware.
I need these files:
arma3_2014-02-03_04-01-35.rpt
arma3_2014-02-03_04-01-35.mdmp
arma3_2014-02-03_08-29-18.rpt

arma3_2014-02-04_07-56-23.rpt
arma3_2014-02-04_07-56-23.mdmp
Thank you
