thank you for your report and files. Your problem is that DirectX crashes. This may be from various reasons, such as outdated DirectX, outdated drivers, overclocked CPU or GPU [by manufacturer or user] and many more.

The fix of verifying the game cache does not solve the scenario load problem that I am seeing. I uploaded my logs as 'Logs-scenarioloadproblem.zip'

Ok, seems your missing a launcher dll. Could you please do verification of local data of arma 3? (via Steam->library->arma3->RB click->properties->local files tab->verify integrity of game cache). Thank you

There is no error, it just says on the launcher waiting for initializing mod management. Bearing in mind I use the dev build... And windows 7.

You means it's not possible to play with mods (after they are downloaded) when there's no internet connection? Should be totally possible. What is the game error?

I uninstall ARMA3 from Steam and install it again, deleting profiles. No effect.
Now I install TrackIR, update it and it works. Thank You.
I use Freetrack in DCS only and never install TrackIR

Hello,
seems that the problem you have is caused by missing or corrupted library System.Core that is part of Microsoft .NET Framework that comes pre-installed on Windows 10.

Could you please try to run an utility from this site to verify the .NET Framework 4.6 installation:

Also as on Windows 10 is .NET Framework 4.6 part of the system, you can try to run a Windows System File Check tool to repair corrupted system files, which might fix the problem as well (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833).

Well, I seemed to have figured out the problem. The issue pertained to my wireless Afterglow headset. After unplugging the USB wireless dongle, I tried to reproduce the error and it worked. Apparently, Arma3 does not like the wireless Afterglows. Spread the word if it helps others who are having the same issue. Thank you.

Vitdom: Yea this is probably off-topic, but probably no better topic title then something concerning the Opposition Nymph! And the fact that I enjoy open source seem to go hand in hand.

From what I've seen so far and I've only written some random small snippets of the SQF syntax scripting, compared to C and Unix/Linux SH/Bash scripting; the SQF scripting language utilized by the ARMA series of games is called SQF, or a scripting language having a SQF syntax. (When using text editors, you'll want to use the SQF syntax for coloring your text or script within the editor.)

It does not appear that there is an all in one inclusive source of information concerning the language and functions used within each game version, but spread about Bohemia's domains.

If you have questions, people usually point you towards Bohemia Interactive's forums. Usually most developers are grateful and willing to help most people. And if you have an "Oh my God" great idea, you may see the idea readily employed. Just be advised some people you might come across do get hostile within the forums, and probably best to just avoid them.

After reading quite a bit of the already written scripting, I would suggest having some experience at writing SH/Bash and even C programs, as the scripting language is reminiscent of a stripped-down Sh or C shell. Be consistent with your spacing and know how the computer reads code. Use good variable naming and please please make sure you comment your code well! I would suggest ignoring the people claiming too many comments or statements not needing comments, as comments will not or should not slow the computer any. (I guess some people enjoy unreadable code, as it keeps them employed or fear becoming unemployed.)

Also within the 3D game editor, I think press ESC and you'll be given a menu for finding functions and/or classes. I've found this method difficult to use and maybe better streamlined when they deploy the Eden editor. But this method of finding the most current functions or classes to be the most accurate, but lacks the documentation similar to the above URL's.

Oh, and do not forget to make back-ups of your scripts. Use of a version system (ie. CVS, SVN, Git, ...) or simply backup your scripts be using a date suffix such as script-20151125.sqf. (On Unix/Linux, we just do script.sqf.20151125.) When packaging, make sure your file are contained within a version or dated suffixed sub-folder. (ie. MyScript-20151125/)

I included a few Windows related solutions to some hiccups I've seen within past Windows related packages.

Hello, we are sorry you are experiencing issues with our game.
Could you please export your game log files from the launcher?

Steps on how to export logs from ARMA 3 Launcher:

  1. Start ARMA 3 Launcher
  2. Click the Hamburger menu tab in the launcher (Top right corner. Next to Options (Cog wheel icon) and Minimize Button)
  3. Drop down menu will appear
  4. Select: Prepare Arma Troubleshooting error and save those files
  5. A notification will pop up with the name of the generated file

Please note that the files might take a while to collect.

Attach the generated files to the ticket. If the files are too big please use some free file sharing service.

Ditto. Looks like a duplicate of Bug #26027

However from my memory, this bug only effects certain aircraft, the To-199 Neophron being one of them.

rogerx I wonder if you can give some advice about where to find reference to scripting in Arma 3, where do you find all the functions and object members?

I also want to learn the syntax, operators etc. Does the scripting language in Arma 3 have a name or a project descriptor that I can lookup to get to know more about the language?

STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_NOT_MZ error means that the executable file that is trying to be run is corrupted and is not being recognised as a valid program. Probably the easiest way to repair this is to delete the *.exe files in your ArmA 3 root directory and then have Steam re-verify the game and force the re-download of these files.

Currently running ArmA 3 under Windows 10 with no issues. Have tried v1.50/1.52/1.53 of the client and apart from existing known issues have not seen anything directly Windows 10 related that could be causing your crashes or freezing.

Okay -thx for the info and let's hope the vulcan architecture will do any good in the future for/with AMD. At the moment their catalyst driver support for linux really sucks.

For others:
At the moment you can't use catalyst on ubuntu kernel 4.2 which is shipped with 15.10

Solution for running Catalyst - stay with 14.04.2 LTS or install ppa 4.1 kernel.
You can also try to compile fglrx with gcc-4.9 instead of gcc-5.0 to avoid crashes on kernel 4.2...

According to VP; Mesa is not as fully OpenGL compliant as the closed-source drivers, and thus we do not support them on Linux port. It is only a very bleeding edge version of Mesa that supports OpenGL 4.1 fully, and even then it only supports this on the software renderers (gallium) and AMD r600 driver (which only seems to cover older AMD Terascale based cards).

The short answer is - We do not support it currently.

We recommend using AMD catalyst driver described here:

The VP port is running very smooth with the catalyst driver so far. One thing I observed which is crucial for running the system on linux to avoid other "mysterious" crashes. The /tmp partition should have at least 2 GB of free space. After some time the game uses up to 1.5 GB tmp files and will crash if you run out space...

When tanks are in a column under alert mode, and order is given to stop, second tank will usually crash into rear of lead tank, and often flip over. Entire column becomes confused and in disarray after halt order, and correct spacing is often not maintained.

In line formation, subsidiary tanks will proceed for >100m after halt order. See uploaded image. Line formation is only regained after about 10 seconds.

I would but my computer is in for repairs and I'm not sure when I'll get it back. I'm hoping this is just a easy fix for the developers. Since I feel it doesn't really require a huge code write, just some simple variables to let the AI know they need duplicate the players actions a little more then if they were just on foot.

Up-voted. I would suggest making some sort of repro mission (maybe one in A3 and a similar one in A2) and uploading it. Even if things are relatively easy to set-up, reports seem to get more attention when you upload a repro, and this definitely deserves attention.
