This would be a great addition to the game.
It could be enhanced to offer customization/addition of user made missions.
From all modules I'm missing from Arma2 the secops module comes right after the first aid modules and the ALICE one.
This is a major problem with Altis & Stratis. There is a script that replaces all objects like these with their Physx enabled counterparts (toilet boxes, cargo containers, etc.)
We are not able to fix this at the moment
create them with cutrsc, unless you want take mouse control from the unit to use radial menu yet not giving player the use of mouse cursor which makes no sense.
Agreed this would be awsm like in the class you have:
class SOD141_RepackDialog
{
idd = 141;
movingenable = 0;
enableMouse = 0;
};
and now the mouse would be gone when inside that dialog.
bump
it is for a radial menu
(see http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?173237 for the mod i need it for)
but there are also other advanced usecases for such a thing (all in combination with display event handlers for manual tracking of mouse position)
Interesting, but can the IR Strobe emit defferent colors? That would be cool. There could be a problem though with multiple countries using blue as a "friendly" strobe color and red as an "enemy" color. Maybe some kind of HUD NVG's that recognized IR strobes thrown by friendlies / enemies.
How come other factions NVGs shouldn't be able to see other teams IR beacons?
That would be very unrealistic
"NV goggles can't see different colors"
Sorry to poo on your party, but everyone with NV goggles can see every IR Strobe. This is how it is in real life, and it wouldn't be fun ingame because IR strobes are usually used for precision air strikes, armor / artillery guidance, etc. So if you see an IR Strobe come flying out of the woods, you're probably dead anyway, and if you see one in the distance, either some friendlies or the enemy is about to have a really bad day (night, whatever).
Lets for the sake of argument assume it is 2035 and you can make your IR beacon only seen with special equipment only your faction has. There is great gameplay value in such design.
However if this is too unrealistic, at least the beacons should have some other sort of visual identification. Friendly beacons should stand out even if you are able to see all of them.
keep searching :)
What's the point of this ticket?
And moveInCommander.
Why are you reporting this? BIS are probably aware of this, you know :)
Place an empty vehicle and give it a name, for example car1, then place your sniper and in his init type:
this moveInDriver car1;
Simples
You can also use moveInGunner and moveInCargo
1.43.xxxxx - status since the ticket was create? Nothing changed? If the animation are removed for A3 pls let us know trough the wiki-documents.
a black variant of TAR-21 could be amazing
Maybe an Urban paint job as well? Might be going too far :P
I totally agree, a black version of each weapon could be useful for night ops.
Shown picture is a black variant TAR-21
Interesting... Looks like a prototype made by the art team.
That would be pretty awesome.
Here is the NEMO
Someone found this in the game files

will be easy when extending SteamWorkshop so that mod download via SteamWorkshop is possible :F
voted up anyway
on-the-fly addon downloading would give the mod scene an enormous boost
Still happens in
Branch: Development
Version: 1.15.116121
Latest .rpt attached
For clarification and due to lack of highlighting by the chap who made the proof of concept (used the addon ) whomever he is
The addon used in the ops link is my own and a chap called spooners , I continue to develop it thru a2 and a3 myself its on armaholic and called dbo tile Its possible in theory to use but unfotunately due to physx implentaion vehicles will not interact any longer with them so its only a visual possibility to that extent
For man however it will work as is , if vehicles ever go back to drive on roadway lod and not physx I will gladly review worthiness
Until then I advise for a snowy altis set the rvmat with a negative force diffuse and make a replacement hexedit like good ole days but only for personal use as bis no longer alliw hex edit and release for public
vbs is a very advanced military simulator that is used by the real military and it costs several 1000 dollars. and arma 3 is a military simulator made for normal people and costs 60$. just to clear it up for you guys, and thats also maybe why not all of the futures in vbs is in arma 3.
If you want snow, why not buy VBS 3 then?
mp5gosu because only army can buy it?
Right now we are limited to an Arid / Temperate landscapes. As a Canadian, i would love to partake in military operations in a snowy environment.. Adding snow would also allow mission editors to script in a cold system where soldiers can reduce their abilities and health due to attrition related to the cold and snowy terrain.
I know it's not...
I'm suggesting that it should be built into the ARMA 3 weather system so that it occurs naturally like the rain.
The VBS3 snow isn't built into the weather system. It's scripted and it's only available for certain versions of the game (the Swedish version, I believe).
lol you clearly didn't read the comment that you're replying to :-z
I just said "built into the weather system." just like the rain :-)
Because it's already possible. Did you even read the comments here?
Honestly I'm skeptical about modding it in. All I've seen is a screenshot and hints that someone is working on it. Not to discourage anyone from trying! On the other hand we know *someone* has already pulled it off.
This can be modded in. Wouldn't it be better to try to mod this in a then create tickets for the show stoppers if there are any that you can't get around?
lol why close the ticked? :-z
ARMA has a full year cycle so plain old common sense would say have snow built into the weather system.
makes perfect sense to me. :-)

And like many similar topics in the past this one too may eventually find a solution from the hard work of the community. But until then...
Also running water like this...

FFS, ProGamer, just close this ticket.
I think it has to do with the slope, always existed since OFP
Yeah, sure a trained soldier can run up a high steep hill without walking. But these guys carry 100+ lbs of gear on them, and what is even worse is that they are in very hot climates. When the units start walking should depend on the gear they carry, with an exception. Extremely steep slopes like what is found on Stratis should force you to walk. I think it is fine the way it is now.
This is already possible:
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?109702-VBS2-Discussion-thread-the-one-and-only/page83
This is still the case in the current stable branch 1.22
Come on guys, it's just a simple config entry...
