Hi, please try lowering Grass LOD in the graphics settings, I suspect that is the root of the cause here.

Hi, I believe this is due to the same issue as here:
http://mars.takeonthegame.com/test_faq/view.php?id=29
So I am closing this as a duplicate. We just finished uploading the newest development build, which sorts this issue, so please try it out and check whether it has fixed the problem. If not, please let me know!
Development build may be accessed through:
Properties->Betas->Development
To confirm whether the issue has been addressed in the build, check the change log, accessed in the main menu using the "View Change Log" button at the bottom right of the screen, there you will see a list of addressed issues and their feedback tracker ID number on the right.
Just looked into your crash log, it refers to the same problem that occurs in the following ticket:
http://mars.takeonthegame.com/test_faq/view.php?id=29
Closing as a duplicate, also please note the issue has been resolved and will be available in today's development build, accessed via:

Hi, could you please try to reproduce the issue again in today's development build?

Hi,
Could you please specify which counter you mean? Do you mean the achievements counter?
Cheers
Hi, the part failure rates can be influenced by the level of quality you choose for the vehicle parts in the rover lab. The default is standard quality, and you can choose high quality or low quality as well.
Either way, we are planning on introducing difficulty levels, so this will be part of it, whether part failures can occur or not.
As for time acceleration, that will likely not be entirely possible, problem is that with such a detailed physical simulation, you cannot increase the simulation rate all that much.
Interesting regarding the VC++ redist. Please try it. I was actually unaware people had to run the game in win98 compatibility, I hope the resit works and solves this issue.
Hi, do you have a joystick or any sort of controller plugged in? If so, try to unplug them, then start the game and see if it occurs.
In general it should literally take input from hte mouse, so that this kind of issue is occurring is very strange.

Yes, definitely
Hi, if the vehicle landing experiences a major error, it will try to land directly down, to at least save itself. In such a situation it will not land where it intended to, thus missing the explore waypoint.
There is a problem here that the part failures are too common, we will change that, making it a little more lenient.
So please try this again and see if (when it lands and does not complete the explore target) whether it had a problem with the thrusters in the vehicle's LOG tab.

Haven't had this occur for some time after a few fixes. Could you please try this on friday or later, after the development branch is updated?
Nasty, very nasty. Will take a look and see what is causing the crash.
I would kindly ask, however, if you have any steps I should follow to reproduce this issue it would help a lot.
Cheers
Oh wow, that is not nice. Could you please let me know which resolution you use on the desktop, and whether you have set that up in the game as well? Also, please write your system configuration (graphics card and so on)
Well I had exactly the same issue on my Fujitsu Lifebook, the issue seems to be related to Windows Aero theme. If it is set to windows 7 basic or something that is not transparent it seems to work fine.
Could you please try if that works?
Hi, looking at where it crashed it appears it was trying to update a hotspot of index -1, which is the problem. That may be caused due to pedals or something of the sort automatically pressing forward/back or side, hence hiding the cursor as well as it goes through the hotspots.
Do you have a wheel, joystick, pedals or anything similar plugged in? If so could you please try to unplug it before starting the game to see if it helps? Then we can further solve the issue.
What an annoying bug. Fixed. Now it sticks to the correct HUD style. Available in tomorrow's development build.
Minor issue, solved now. The tabs properly update in all situations. Will be available in tomorrow's dev build
Due to the old part failure system, which has been removed. the new part failure system will be better.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Just to make sure I tried to reproduce the issue but was unable to. I am unsure what may have caused it, so if you or anyone does run into it again, please let me know and we will look into it again.
This should be fixed now. The sounds were not correctly interpolated.
Closing this as there will be a new part failure system added. The old system has been removed for some time now, and the new system will be linked to difficulty options.

Just tried, and yes it is apparently non-functional. Will look into getting this fixed.

The issue has been dealt with, so please try it out in today's upcoming developer build, accessed via:
Properties->Betas->Development
You can check which issues have been sorted in the build through the main menu at the bottom right via the "View Change Log" button.
If the issue still occurs, please let me know!
Hmm, that is very strange. There are two things you can try:
If none of those work, could you tell me if you hear anything when you see that screen? If not then I'd suggest try re-downloading the game, maybe something was corrupted on download.

Will look into what can be done to improve this.
Yes, this is planned and will be implemented
done in today's dev build
Yes, please confirm it starts only in C:/ if so then we will look into the issue.
Limited fuel has been added in today's update. Further improvements to the landings are expected though.
Limited fuel will be implemented, that should help with the issue. Additionally, the landing circle will also be adjusted to help improve landing performance and speed.

Thank you for the report, at present you can overcome it by changing the physics simulation detail, as you have done. This will be addressed and fixed hopefully soon.
OK, looked into it and found the error. Hopefully should be fixed now. Will be available in today's development build and in the next major update, so please try it afterwards and let me know if it still is a problem.

As for the error with the thruster, that can happen and is a feature, discussed elsewhere, but it should not cause the vehicle to descend ridiculously slow.
Already possible using the GUI forward button :)
Just fixed the issue. The other problem that remains is the GUI being in the center, not across the screen, but that's separate.
Fixed the issue. Will be available in today's development build and in the next major update.

It seems F6 brings up the video grabber, but fails to work. Will look into getting this sorted.
Fixed the issue, already available in the current development build, available in the next major update.

Thank you for finding the bug, fixed, it'll be available in today's Developer branch (accessed via properties->betas->development), and in the next major update.
With the addition of Mars 3 and the 1971 starting point which then progresses to the modern day, this has been implemented.
Hi, could you please let me know where you installed the game? Is it in the C:/ drive?
Here is a similar problem, and installing into C:/ solved the issue:
http://mars.takeonthegame.com/test_faq/view.php?id=48
Fixed the issue, it was caused specifically if you went from the Space Program straight into the Editor mode, then the free fly camera was not being update. Will be available in today's development build and in the next major update.

Hi, yeah noticed as well, there is a small gap above the terrain. Looking into sorting the issue.
As for the camera speed in the editor, turn it down/up by using the mouse wheel. Additionally, if you press and hold the middle mouse button and then turn the mouse wheel, you will zoom in/out.
Unfortunately this is a limit in the physics calculations, so there is not universal way to fix this.

Hi, please try what users have suggested regarding deleting E:\Steam\userdata\12444236\244030\local
If that fails, we'll try to look into it further.
