Hello,
please try to start Launcher in a safe mode (you enter it by holding Ctrl+Shift while starting the game) and let it disable hardware acceleration.
Thank you for the confirmation,
the version with the fix is 1.4.134350 (dev) / 134352 (RC); yours version is 1.4.134333, the fix was not published to Steam RC branch, yet.
Hello,
I've a simple question: what sort mode do you have on that tab?
Hello,
thank you, that issue is already assigned to one of the Eden devs internally and will be fixed.
Yep, you're right, the logger is ill-configured. It will be fixed in the after 1.56 release.
That's great, thank you. For a moment I was afraid that there's another crash I don't know about... I hate those.
Thank you, that's most likely caused by an error when the servers are sorted. It will be fixed for 1.56.
EDIT: Yeah, the logs confirms that that is the issue (it happens when you sort servers by number of (current) players).
Could you please try the latest Launcher arma.jiripolasek.com/files/Launcher_134350.zip ? The sorting crash is fixed in that version. If it crashes, could you please check Event Viewer for related errors under Windows Logs/Application log?
A duplicate of http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=27625 ?
Hello,
thanks for letting us know, really appreciated (bow). Indeed once the file is marked as hidden, it can't be written into. I'll add a workaround for the issue.
Once again, thank you.
Private it is...
Hello,
the logs shows that it really is a permission issue:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '(blah blah censored)AppData\Local\Arma 3 Launcher\News.json' is denied.
Same goes for other configuration files and also for the. \AppData\Local\Bohemia_Interactive folder. Could you please check effective permissions for your user account on a particular file, e.g. News.json? Properts -> Security tab -> Advanced -> Effective permissions.
Hello,
according of the log you are missing a file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\Launcher\en-US\arma3launcher.resources.dll'. Could you please check whether the file exists or not?
This order of tabs is intended.
Also after you try to start Launcher, you can check Windows Event Viewer for any error reported by .NET Framework. If there is a problem with application, there might be an error record under Windows Logs\Application log.
Hello,
I meant .NET Framework library or Windows library.
You have Windows 10 which means that means that you can't (re)install .NET Framework 4.5 as system won't let you do that because a newer version (4.6) is part of the operating system. Please try to re-install .NET Framework 4.6.1 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49981
Hello,
is there any error report on your desktop? There might be a text file with name "Arma3Launcher_Exception_xxxxxxx.txt", sort of a last resort log.
The logs you've send us are completely empty since 15th January which means that application won't start, which would indicate either missing libraries or corrupted .NET Framework installation.
Hello,
from the error I'd say that there is a mismatch between Launcher files, as it is trying to load a part of a program that was removed in this or some previous version.
I'd suggest to you to:
- Go to the game installation folder 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\'
- Remove Launcher folder, remove any of these files "sharedresources.dll", "utils.dll", "steamlayerwrap.dll" and any folder that is match the pattern xx-XX (e.g. en-US, de-DE).
- Re-verify integrity of the game cache using Steam client.
Hello,
by default the branch name is retrieved from Steam client, which always returns the name of the branch installed through Steam client.
The Game Updater has an option to override the name of the branch by placing a text file "branch_override.txt" into the folder with a other Arma installation. If Launcher detects a file with that name, it will use the text on the first line of this file as the branch name instead of using name provided by Steam client.
Your .NET Framework installation is still corrupted.
Because the error suggest file corruption, I'd recommend you to run disk check on the drive C: before any further attempts to repair it.
After that try to run '.NET Framework Setup Verification Tool' http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx and then the repair tool which is mentioned in that post. Please make sure that you select the correct version (4.6.1) of .NET Framework.
As an ultimate solution, you can try to run .NET Framework Cleanup tool http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx and then restart the computer and install .NET Framework 4.6.1 again.
Could you please attach the latest exception log?
Hello,
it seems that you have a corrupted file that is part of Microsoft .NET Framework and that Launcher needs to work correctly. Please try to re-install the latest NET Framework: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49981
Hello,
you're missing one or more game files. Please let Steam to repair any missing file by verifying integrity of the game cache.
- Open Steam.
- From the Library section, right-click on "Arma 3" and select Properties from the menu.
- Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
- Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
Hello,
could you please also attach logs for Launcher, you can export them from Options menu in Launcher by clicking on the "Export Launcher logs to desktop" menu item.
Also please try to start the game with BattlEye disabled.

Hello,
we're sorry for the inconvenience. This issue is caused by the Windows update KB3078601 and there is nothing we can do to prevent the issue at this time. You can either uninstall the update or wait for Microsoft to release a fixed version of the update.
Hello,
it looks like you have an old library in the game installation folder. Please check that a following file doesn't exist: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\SteamLayerWrap.dll" and if it does, delete it. After that verify integrity of the game through Steam client.
Closing as a duplicate, the other ticket contains more information.
Hello,
this error is most likely caused by corrupted installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Runtime package:
- Uninstall the program "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) ... "
- Restart the computer.
- Install the x86 version of the redistributable package again from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
Please DO NOT use the Repair function of the installer as it usually won't fix the problem and DO install the x86 version even if you have a 64-bit computer.
If that doesn't help, please upload Launcher logs and we'll go through them and determine the cause: http://arma.jiripolasek.com/howtos.html
Hello,
the development of the server browser is still in progress. The LAN servers will be available in the future, but it requires implementation of a different protocol than the other server lists.
Hello,
the development is still in progress and this is just a default behavior of the control.
Hello,
Launcher not the game doesn't have the information needed to access Steam account directly nor it intends to store them. The game accesses the Workshop page through Steam Overlay which is run by the Steam client, Launcher doesn't have that option and the other options Steam offer are not good enough. In the past Launcher was able to open Workshop page in Steam client directly, but we were forced to removed that feature as Valve did some changes which broke that functionality for us and it became unusable.
Hello,
please try to disable BattlEye in Launcher.
Hello,
the file mentioned in the message is corrupted. You have to re-download the RHS: USAF mod (or that one file) or run the game without that mod.
Hello,
your issue is caused by a corrupted DirectX library "c:\windows\syswow64\XAPOFX1_5.DLL". You can try to re-install DirectX (which usually doesn't work), get the file from another computer (you have to get the file from the same folder - SysWOW64 - as there are more file with same name, but different content), or you can run an unofficial hotfix of mine from http://arma.jiripolasek.com/files/DirectX_Fix_For_Arma3.exe
Hello,
could you please run Dependency Walker on "arma3.exe", not on "arma3launcher.exe".
Closing as duplicate, the other one contains more intel: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=27318
I'd love that, it's been on the list for the long time. But I've to finish the cloning machine first.

Hello,
you're missing a file that is part of .NET Framework and Launcher needs it to run. Try to (re-)install the latest version of the .NET Framework: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49981 , that should fix the issue.
Hello musso,
this error is caused by corrupted machine-wide configuration files for .NET Framework, which installer probably didn't bother to modify :/
The .NET Framework installation contains a backup copy of that file, so it's possible to replace it manually. If you can start the command line as administrator, then run this command and it should be fixed (providing the backup copy is not corrupted):
xcopy /Y "%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config.default" "%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config"

Hello,
this error may be caused by a registry override (a hack) that forces Arma 3 to utilize Large-Page memory. This type of hack was previously used by Fred41's custom allocator, but it may cause issues on some computers.
In the Windows registry, locate the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\arma3.exe and check the value of attribute UseLargePages. If the value is 1 then set it to 0 or remove it entirely.
Hello,
the file "D:\steamlibrary\steamapps\common\arma 3\DXGI.DLL" is not part of Arma 3 installation. Please remove the file and run the game again.
Hello,
please use Dependency Walker on Arma3.exe not Arma3Launcher.exe.
Hello,
thank you for a splendid idea.

Hello,
I can see that you have moved Launcher program onto your desktop instead of creating a shortcut to it. Launcher needs other files from Arma 3 installation folder to run. You should create a shortcut to the Arma3Launcher.exe that is in the Arma 3 installation folder instead of moving or copying the file.
Hello,
the library is part of the Windows. By putting it in Arma 3 folder you've fixed Arma 3 Launcher, but other applications can have the same issue.
Hello,
thank you for reporting the issue. This issue is probably caused by a missing system file ('UIAutomationCore.dll'). You should be able to restore the file by running the System File Checker tool: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833
Hello,
it shows that two game files are corrupted. Did you let Steam to verify the integrity of game cache, because that is supposed to fix this problem.
If you did not, then please do it, if you did then delete these two files:
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 3\PHYSX3_X86.DLL
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 3\PHYSX3COMMON_X86.DLL
and verify the integrity of the game cache again.
Hello,
this error means that the operating system can't start the game because one of the libraries required to run the game is corrupted. We've a list of possible solutions listed on our Community Wiki: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Unusual_process_exit#0xC000012F_-_STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_NOT_MZ
If any of those solutions doesn't help, then please download Microsoft Dependency Walker (x86 version) http://www.dependencywalker.com/depends22_x86.zip [^] and open Arma3.exe with it, then save the report from Dependency Walker into DWI file, compress it into a ZIP or RAR and upload it here. We'll identify the corrupted file for you.
I can see the same error as with the Battle Royale mod. Could you please run this and upload the result: http://arma.jiripolasek.com/files/tetriser_allmods_diag.zip? Also what antivirus do you use?
It's weird, but everything seems to be in complete order. I've tried to install the 360 Total Security and seems to me that it might be related as it is blocking the files for scanning, so it might cause the problem. Could you try to disable the antivirus temporarily, restart Launcher and see what happens?
Hello,
could you please export Launcher logs again and also tell me which mods are corrupted? I'll update the diagnostic program to check all the mods in the meanwhile.
Thank you. I can see that you the mod files are now intact, did you do something else to fix it?
Also if you run the game with a mod, you're basically changing the game rules and conditions (or it might), so the servers usually won't let you play with other mods than the ones they require.
Thank you, but unfortunately it didn't cover nothing important. Could you please re-downloaded it and try that again? I've expanded the check and incorporated the list of expected mod files directly into the program, so the program is now able to tell you if there are some files missing or corrupted.
Did the program listed any errors before transferring the files? Because at least on my computer that mod is fully signed, so there might be some files missing.
And yes, Arma 3 is 32 bit application.
That seems that there are some files missing. Could you please run this program http://arma.jiripolasek.com/files/tetriser_BRMod_Diag.zip
It will create a file with the list of BattleRoyale files you have on your desktop, could you please upload that file here? I'll review it in the morning and compare it with the mod files that Steam downloads on my workstation.
Oh, sorry, my bad, I've made an error in a check. Could you please re-download the program and try that again?
That's interesting :/ So the third time's a charm they say: this version of the program will also force the transfer of mod in the game directory http://arma.jiripolasek.com/files/tetriser_filescheck_v3.zip It might temporary solve your issue until I find the cause.
Could you please run a this program: http://arma.jiripolasek.com/files/tetriser_filescheck_v1.zip It will go through all files, do the same checks as Launcher and it will print results. If it detects an issue, it will also offer an option to delete the offending files (it will ask you and then wait for you to press Y (as Yes) before deleting anything).
And no, you don't have to re-download the mod, until it's solved it will be enough to re-start Launcher.
I've one blind shot: as it might be a permission problem, try to exit Steam (entirely, through menu Steam / Exit) and then run it again as administrator (right click on Steam icon and choose run as administrator) and then run Arma 3 Launcher.
I'm going to prepare an program that is going to check the mod and Steam files an track the mysterious file that exists and not exists at the same time and causing the problem.
Could you try to restart the computer please and run Launcher after that?
Hello,
thank you for uploading the logs. I can see the issue with synchronization, seems that situation that couldn't happen did happen.
Could you please run a disk check on drive C:?
Closing as duplicate. I'll get back to you in the original issue ticket: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=26483
Ok, closing as resolved then. For the issue with BattlEye please contact their support http://www.battleye.com/support/ read theirs FAQ http://www.battleye.com/support/faq/ or you can create another ticket here under BattEye category.
Could you please upload the latest error log? You've either missed some files or there is another problem.
Hello,
you have some misplaced and obsolete files in your Arma 3 installation. You will have to delete them to make Launcher work again.
These files are not meant to be directly in the game installation folder, they are supposed to be in the Launcher sub-folder, where they are automatically updated:
- config.bin
- Config.json
- log4net.dll
- log4net.txt
- logger.xml
- msvcp120.dll
- msvcr120.dll
- notifyicon-wpf.txt
- protobuf-net.dll
- protobuf-net.txt
- SharedResources.dll
- SteamLayer.dll
- SteamLayerWrap.dll
- Utils.dll
- Xceed.Wpf.Toolkit.dll
- Xceed.Wpf.Toolkit.txt
- cs-cz\
- de-de\
- en-US\
- es-es\
- fr-fr\
- it-it\
- pl-pl\
- pt-br\
- ru-ru\
After that run verify the integrity of game cache through Steam to ensure that all other files are up to date.
You have to open the folder with the game in Windows Explorer, it's the this one: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3
If you find any of the files and folder that I've listed above in that folder, you have to delete them. They don't belong there and that prevents Launcher from running.
After you do that let steam check all files:
- Open Steam;
- From the Library, right-click on Arma 3 and select Properties from the menu;
- On the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button;
- Steam will verify the game's files and re-download corrupted or missing ones.
Hello,

The 3 files are corrupted, but beware they are in a different folder that DW shows (there are two different copies of those files on your PC).
All the files belongs to DirectX, please follow these steps:
- Go to the 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64' folder and delete these 3 files: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\D3DCOMPILER_43.DLL C:\windows\SysWOW64\X3DAUDIO1_7.DLL C:\windows\SysWOW64\XAPOFX1_5.DLL
- Go to 'C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 3\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010' and run the DxSetup.exe from there.
- After the setup finishes, check whether those 3 files were restore.
- If they were not, because the setup didn't repaired them, the download the archive from arma.jiripolasek.com/files/Juggernog_DxFiles.zip , I've uploaded those 3 files in there. Or you can find them and extract them from *.cab files that are included with the DirectX setup.
Glad to hear that. Enjoy the game.

Could you please save the report from Dependenci Walker into DWI file, compress it into ZIP or RAR and upload it here? I need to know which of the files are corrupted and how to identify which component needs to be repaired and how to repair it.
Glad to hear that. Enjoy the game.
Hello,
you're missing 5 DirectX libraries from the folder "C:\Windows\SysWOW64":
- D3DCOMPILER_43.DLL
- D3DX10_43.DLL
- D3DX11_43.DLL
- X3DAUDIO1_7.DLL
- XAPOFX1_5.DLL
Please run the DirectX installer to install or restore the files. It's installer can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010.
If that doesn't help, you can get them from the same folder (SysWOW64) on another computer (please note that there are more files with the same in different folder, but they contain a different version) or you can run the installer from http://arma.jiripolasek.com/files/DirectX_Fix_For_Arma3.exe
Hello again,
we need you the report about the your Arma3.exe, not Dependency Walker itself.
- Open Dependency Walker.
- Click on File/Open and select Arma3.exe (should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\arma3.exe on your PC).
- Click on File/Save and save the report to file Arma3.dwi on your desktop.
- Compress that file into ZIP archive.
- Upload that archive here.
Hello,
the operating system can't find one or more libraries that are needed to run the game. You can find the list of possible solutions for this issue on our community wiki: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Unusual_process_exit#0xC0000135_-_STATUS_DLL_NOT_FOUND
If any of those solutions doesn't help, then please download Microsoft Dependency Walker (x86 version) http://www.dependencywalker.com/depends22_x86.zip and open Arma3.exe with it, then save the report from Dependency Walker into DWI file, compress it into a ZIP or RAR and upload it here. We'll identify the corrupted file for you.
No need to do that, we have contacts directly on their engineers :).
From their perspective it works as designed, although they are still improving it. Six months ago, we've dismissed the idea of symlinking as too dangerous, and now we're considering releasing it to public.
Unfortunately the best result is that Steam's going to re-download the data back into those folders; the worse results includes that Steam will force you to wait until it does that and won't allow you to play, or that it gets stuck in the update loop. It the past those worst results were more probable, but Valve improved the client regarding this, but the client behavior in such situation is still undefined.
Ultimately we'll offer (the most likely) an option to link the mods directly to Steam Workshop cache, but we want to make the best effort to ensure that Steam can recover when from people meddling with those files even when they will be instructed not to do so.
Hello,
we know about this but those files are not ours to manage, not they can't be safely deleted or modified without compromising functionality of Steam client.
We're trying to find a safe way to remove the data redundancy, but at the moment there is no magic solution for this, all of them have some severe disadvantage (that includes also the most famous symbolic link/mklink hack).
Hello,

Hello,
could you please upload Launcher logs (in the Options menu, there's the menu item "Export Launcher logs to desktop...") and point me to when and what mod you we're updating?
It may take time for Steam to re-download the file, providing it even bother to do that, so there might be a delay between the mod is repaired.
Hello,
according to the system can't render the main window of Launcher. Please do start Launcher in safe-mode and let it disable it's hardware acceleration (by holding Ctrl+Shift while you start it, more at http://arma3.com/launcher/troubleshooting) or use the -nohwa command line parameter.
Hello,
the description for that error and possible solutions are listed on our community wiki: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Unusual_process_exit#0x00000035_-_ERROR_BAD_NETPATH
For the mods from Steam Workshop the authors are not read from the mod.cpp file (which might not be even downloaded at the time the mod is listed in Launcher), but instead taken from Steam Workshop metadata, and the author name resolution on Steam is failing in this case, hence author unknown.
Might be possible change in future if we find some time to properly separate author and publisher information fields.
Hello,
it's known to happen time to time. It should fix itself after some time, or you can try to restart Steam client to see if that helps.
But we look into it anyway just to be sure, thank you.
